Chapter 92 - He Shall Return

Swish!

With a single swipe of the Holy Sword Excelsiber, Natsuki kills another Slime, dropping another core on the ground. As he kneeled to pick it up, a dark shadow loomed over him. Just before it was about to strike the defenceless Hero, a call came out from behind him:

"Light Bomb!"

A large ball of light illuminated the surroundings, causing the large shadow to scream in pain, before being vaporised into ashes. "Thanks for that, Hana..."

Twisting his shoulders, Natsuki made sure that nothing was injured. Otherwise, they'd all be screwed. "Oh yeah, have you heard about what happened to the city of Mithrador? Last I heard, the city experienced a SCREEECH!, causing mass deaths to occur. Pity, if I were there, those Wabbits would've been Wabbit chow by now..."

"Awww, don't kill those poor little cutsie pies. They're so fluffy...!"

"Yeah, well those 'cutsie pies' caused the near-total destruction of an entire city!"

Coming from behind them, Megumi began to whine about the deaths of those useless Wabbits, before being snapped to reality with Hana's harsh words. Both began bickering, causing the quiet hallway to slowly turn louder and louder, to the point where Natsuki had no choice but to intervene, slapping some sense into them. "Both of you shut up! Can't you lot see we're in the middle of a Dungeon!?"

Seeing Natsuki mad, both girls shut up, heads down in shame. Seeing them both pipe down, he huffed in appreciation, continuing his journey down the hallway. But what he didn't realise was that both women began rubbing their legs, their faces flushed...

"Either way, thanks to you both, the Ducngeon explora- Holy shit!"

With a loud, sudden cry, Natsuki fell through the wall, tumbling into the darkness...

"Natsuki-kun!"

"Nacchan!"

"Owww..."

Rubbing his head, Natsuki realised that he had somehow fallen into a long corridor in an unknown part of the dungeon. Shaking off the sore muscles, he began groping his way forward, sword in hand.

As he trudged forward warily, he slowly began to realise that the walls had begun transitioning from solid stone to... bronze!?

Wait, how on Earth is there bronze here!? I thought this was more of a medieval-ish fantasy world!?

Now panicking inside, he still forced his way through, wanting to reunite with Hana and Megumi ASAP.

Still, deep in his thoughts, he did not realise that he had come to an end until he found himself in a large hall. That's when he got the shock of his life.

Strewn around were mechanical hands and steel torsos, damaged beyond comprehension. Burnt marks could be seen etched everywhere, the sign of a huge battle.

But that was not what shocked Natsuki the most.

What the fuck on Earth is that!?

At the centre of the hall was a giant mural. Drawn into it were several species that he recognised, and many he did not. There lay Humans, Dwarfs, Elves, Wulfins, Succubi, as well as some flying black toys, small green hunchbacked figures with sacks, animal-eared people with their hands up.

All kneeling before a central figure

Stood tall, the figure glowed bright orange. Its large wings spread far apart, illuminating the very heavens behind it. It spread its arms far apart, declaring itself as their saviour.

But that was not what shocked Natsuki the most...

It

Was

A

Freaking

Robot

Two laser blasters were seen attacked to its arms. Gears were protruding from all over its body, spinning everywhere. Where its heart's suppsoed to be, a giant core is placed in the center of its chest, glowing brighter than a thousand suns.

But it was the face that shocked Natsuki to tears.

Despite wearing a large golden crown on top of its head, despite nobility oozing out of its body, despite being stronger, better than them, its face radiate compassion, mercy,

Justice

Tears streaming down his face, Natsuki soon spotted a couplet etched into the hard metal wall:

When the world is set ablaze in tyranny and injustice, and hope is all but lost...

When there is no hero left and tyrants only remain, keep faith deep in your hearts...

For He shall return...

The Mecha King!
