Mommy Villainess-Chapter 393: Hidden Past (1)
Chapter 393: Hidden Past (1)
[OH, NO...]
Luna gasped when she noticed a semi-transparent barrier shaped like a sphere that came out of nowhere. Then the barrier "swallowed" the entire bed where Tilly and the Black Serpent were sleeping.
A strange yet powerful black light covered the sphere.
Tsk.
[I let my guard down!]
Luna covered her right fist with a thick layer of Mana, then she punched the barrier.
But, as soon as her fist connected to the barrier, she was pushed away by a strong yet unseen force.
She was sent flying until her back hit the wall, the impact causing cracks all over it.
Then she slid down to the floor with a few broken bones.
[Just what is that thing?]
Luna didn’t sense the barrier until it appeared and swallowed Tilly and the Black Serpent.
Of course, she was worried.
Even so...
<"The barrier doesn’t feel hostile.">
Huh?
It wasn’t Luna or her inner thoughts.
She turned to her side and, much to her shock, she saw Tilly’s Black Flamed Crab "standing" next to her.
But the voice she heard sounded like it came from a little girl.
Luna gulped before she asked. "Are you the Black Flame?"
She asked because when the Black Flamed Crab spoke earlier, the black flame around it grew a bit bigger.
<"That’s right– I’m the Black Flame.">
"Were you pushed out by the barrier?"
<"Yes, that’s correct. Even Tilly’s mallet was pushed out. I hid it in my inventory, but I can’t put the Black Flamed Crab there since I need Tilly’s soul to do so.">
Okay, hearing that made her worry.
"That means Tilly is defenseless at the moment."
<"She still has her red flame since it lives within her soul, but other than that, she’s on her own.">
That didn’t sound good, but at least, Tilly wasn’t alone.
"It seems like their souls were taken away to a different dimension," Luna said while observing the barrier. She could no longer see what was inside it because of the black aura that covered it. Fortunately, she could still feel Tilly and the Black Serpent’s presence. "I just hope they’re not in danger."
<"They will only be in danger if their souls spend too much time away from their physical bodies.">
"But they have god-like divine power. Won’t they be find even if their souls separate from their physical bodies for a long time?"
<"Under a normal situation, yes. But the problem is that they’re trapped inside that sphere. We don’t know if they could even breathe inside that thing. Even if their physical bodies are stronger than a normal human body, it doesn’t change the fact that they no longer have celestial bodies. If their physical bodies died, their souls wouldn’t have a vessel to return to.">
Oh, right.
The Black Flame made a point.
Luna, despite her aching body, stood up as quickly as she could. "Then shall we break the barrier and free Tilly and the Black Serpent’s physical bodies?"
<"Allow me to burn the barrier with my black flame first.">

[TSK.]
Kyro clicked his tongue when he failed to break the wall of fire that protected the Red Phoenix from his attacks.
Winchell was still in a trance after he forced his memory into the Red Phoenix’s mind.
However, he couldn’t deal any damage to the Beast God because those damned Keepers were protecting their master.
The Keepers had already lost their human forms.
But their form as red flames was stronger than normal, enough to withstand his Hellfire.
"You’re lucky I’m trying to conserve my energy," Kyro said, laughing. "If I use my full strength, then you’ll be dead already."
Unfortunately, the vessel that he was using would break apart if he went all-out.
"My dear husband, are you done playing yet?"
Kyro smiled when he looked down and saw Yumi, his wife, waiting for him below. "I guess it’s okay to keep Winchell alive."
He descended carefully, then opened his arms when his wife ran towards him.
"I did it, honey," Yumi said excitedly while wrapping her arms around his waist. "I managed to poison our son without him knowing. And, just like what we expected, our daughter-in-law followed him."
Lingering Mana.
That was the technique that Yumi used to steal Kiho’s soul and bring it to another dimension.
Even though Kalel had already disowned them as his parents, it wouldn’t change the fact that Yumi was his Spirit Guardian for years. That meant Yumi’s traces, aka her Mana, had still some remnants in their son’s system.
All Kyro had to do was teach Yumi how to make her traces move inside Kalel.
[We just needed Kalel to lower his guard, so attack my son with Hellfire even though I have no intention of killing him.]
"Honey, will our son be alright?"
"Of course. Who knows?" Kyro kissed Yumi’s forehead. "Kalel might return to our side once he finds out about our past."
They should have done that at the very beginning.
But it was hard for Yumi to relive the past.
Hence, he waited patiently until his wife was ready to share their tragic past with their son.
"Kyro, I won’t deny that I love you more than I love our son," Yumi confessed, smiling sadly. "But Kalel is still our son, so I still want to be family with him."
"I’ll make that happen," Kyro promised his wife. "We just need to change the world first."

"WE’RE inside Yumi’s memories."
Tilly nodded in agreement with Kiho’s conclusion.
After they met the young Yumi earlier, they secretly followed her while observing their surroundings.
For some reason, other people couldn’t see them.
[It’s probably because we’re just inside a memory.]
"But how did we end up here?" Kiho wondered out loud, obviously worried. "This isn’t the time for us to be stuck in a different dimension while our children are in danger."
She understood her husband’s concern.
Tilly held Kiho’s hand to help him calm down. "Honey, let’s talk to the Yumi of this world."
