Modern World Warlock-Chapter 356: Jade Dragons Vs. Netherius
As Netherius kept fighting against Zac, Megan, and Alice, the two cyborgs were left with Vesnia inside the crumbling building.
Sami was eager to join the battle against the necromancer, but she didn't want to leave Lexia alone, so she had to impatiently wait for backup to arrive.
While the hell-cyborg gripped the side of the broken wall, she looked down at the battle with Netherius and bit her lips with frustration.
"Just go, Sami. I'll take care of this woman…" Lexia commented, and right after she finished, the two cyborgs sensed another presence approaching them, prompting them to turn around and look at the other side of the room.
Standing before the edge of the hole in the wall, they found Isidor holding his sword to the side with one hand.
A piece of his armor had been broken from Zac's attack, and half of his shattered helmet showcased his wounded head. Still, the man weakly took one step forward and made the two cyborgs raise their guards.
"He's weakened…" Sami muttered, raising an eyebrow with confusion when she detailed the man's umbra flow.
Even when Sami's computer brain allowed her to learn the meaning behind people's umbra much quicker than a normal warlock, she had never seen such conflicted energy.
"Does he not want to fight?" Lexia pondered, keeping her guard up.
"I… don't know," Sami replied, prompting Isidor to finally speak up.
"End me…" Isidor whispered, but the two cyborgs were able to listen to him clearly.
Sami and Lexia hesitated for a moment and maintained their guards raised. Lexia wanted to dig deeper into the man's desire to die and Sami was considering truly ending his life. However, the fact that Isidor asked for death himself made her hesitate.
"Hey, you are putting those girls into an awkward position, you know?" The voice of a woman echoed inside the building's room.
"If you wanted to die, you could have just asked me instead," she continued, and when the cyborgs and the Death Knights turned their gazes, they saw Asphodel standing right beside them.
Sami took a second to process the information and gasped, turning back around to look at Netherius' fight.
'If Miss Asphodel is here, then Dante is here too…' she wondered, but when she finished her thoughts, a massive earthquake struck the district.

Before Asphodel arrived at the scene, Megan, Alice, and Zac struggled to keep up with Netherius' powers.
Even when they managed to land an attack, he could simply regenerate in less than a minute, so the Jade Dragons had to think of a way to kill him with one blow that wouldn't allow him to heal.
Of course, that was easier said than done.
Zac had been taking numerous attacks head-on, which would have killed almost anyone else, but the redhead kept standing up and going on the offensive.
Megan and Alice were able to stay focused and avoid getting fatally hurt. Still, they could tell that Netherius wasn't using all of his power on them.
When the three of them tried to attack simultaneously, they thought that at least one of their attacks would land as the necromancer focused on defending against the others. Nevertheless, their plan backfired with a short sentence.
"Death Art: Wither," Netherius said, raising one arm and blocking Zac's baseball bat, which was directed at his face.
Zac gritted his teeth and tried to take his bat back, but not even his berserker strength was able to retrieve it from Netherius' firm grip.
A second later, the baseball bat, which was created by Paige by using the strongest alloys in the world, suddenly started to turn black before disintegrating into dust.
Zac's eyes widened in disbelief and took a quick step back to gain distance from the necromancer.
His bat had been able to withstand the weight and force of other magical weapons, so seeing it turn to dust so easily made him wary.
Relishing the opportunity, Alice tried to blast Netherius from behind with a shockwave of umbra that shot out from her black blade, but it was instantly blocked by a wall of bones that rose from the ground.
Not giving up on their offensive, Megan got closer and slid across the ground to avoid getting impaled by the flying bone spikes. Then, she pulled out her gilded pistol and shot the necromancer in the head.
Thanks to the upgrades that Paige added to their weapons and projectiles, the bullet blew off half of Netherius' face, and before Megan could keep shooting, she had to quickly move away as the bone spikes kept raising beneath her.
Netherius stood still for a few seconds, his one eye showing a hint of confusion.
When he raised one hand to touch his face and noticed half of it was missing, the half of his mouth that was still attached to him showed an evil grin.
'Are you serious…?' Megan pondered, noticing that Netherius' fatal injury was slowly healing and regenerating the missing part of his head.
"Heh, I'm a big fan of modern weapons…" Netherius commented with a slightly nonchalant tone.
"I've always thought they were pretty effective, but yours must have been modified," the necromancer continued.
"Either way, I believe I've seen everything I needed to…" he said, and right at that moment, a heavy and overwhelming pressure surrounded the three Jade Dragons' fighters.
Megan compared it to carrying the weight of a car on her shoulders, which weighed her down and made her legs tremble.
Alice and Zac were in the same position, though Zac managed to take a few more steps forward even when his entire body was covered in his blood.
Nevertheless, the redhead halted when the pressure became so powerful that the three of them were pushed down to the ground, generating an earthquake that could be felt in other districts.
For a brief moment that didn't even last a second, Megan felt the weight disappear, and she tried using that moment to stand up and get away from Netherius' range. ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom
However, the necromancer was already standing beside her, gripping her neck before she could run away and lifting her up in the air.
"Now, you'll be my number 1…" Netherius said with an evil smile while choking the life out of Megan.
