Modern Weapons Cheat in Fantasy World-Chapter 37: Getting them Out
Marcus carried the two girls on his left and right shoulders. Despite them being the ones that looked heavy, they were manageable. But, what’s not manageable is the smell they are producing.
It’s the worst smell he had ever dealt with up close.
It was days—maybe weeks—of being locked in that place. No proper food. No clean water. No way to wash. The smell clung to them.
Marcus didn’t react outwardly. Of course, he understood why they were in that state in the first place. In fact, it made him feel lighter as he had saved them from their situation.
Arriving outside of the cave, Marcus simply placed them on the ground since they can’t fit in the JLTV Oshkosh. The variant he had bought from the system is a Heavy Guns Carrier. They are not suited for people like them who are too weak to move.
He’ll need convenient transport. But he’ll figure it out later. There’s still six girls left inside.
Marcus exhaled once and turned back toward the cave.
The two girls he had just carried were already slumped on the ground, too weak to even sit properly. One leaned against the tire of the JLTV, eyes half-open, breathing shallow. The other lay on her side, clutching the empty air like she was still unsure if this was real.
"...Stay here," Marcus said, though he wasn’t sure if they even heard him.
He didn’t wait for a response.
He moved back into the cave.
This time, faster.
The path was already clear. He didn’t need to check every corner again. He knew what was inside. He had already cleared it.
The bodies were still there.
The smell hadn’t changed.
Marcus stepped over them without slowing down and headed straight for the chamber where the cage was.
The six remaining women were still inside.
They looked up when he entered.
Some of them didn’t even react at first. It took a second before recognition set in—that he had come back.
"...You came back..." one of them said, voice weak.
"I said I would," Marcus replied, and then proceeded to carry two of them without wasting time.
He moved straight to the nearest two and lifted them carefully, one over each shoulder. They were lighter than they looked, their bodies weak enough that they didn’t resist or even react much. One of them let out a faint sound as she was lifted, her hand weakly gripping his shoulder before going still again.
"Hold on," Marcus said, more out of habit than expectation.
He turned immediately and started back toward the exit.
And he did that, over and over again, until they were fully out from the cave.
Now, there are eight of them outside. The question now is transportation? They can’t fit from Oshkosh, and it would be a terrible experience for them too. And he has to get them to nearest city, which is Berm, fast for medical attention because some of them looked to be on the verge of collapse.
He needed something else.
Something fast.
Something that could carry all of them at once.
Marcus exhaled once and opened his system.
The interface appeared in front of him.
He went straight to the aircraft section.
Scrolled past the fixed-wing options.
Then saw the Rotary Aircraft tab.
[UH-60 Black Hawk – 6,000,000 MC]
Six million military credits. That’s an expensive one relative to his current balance. Is it even worth it to use it on them? Well, thinking back, he had earned it easily by killing wyverns. So he could earn it back again. There are lives at stake.
So without hesitation, Marcus bought the helicopter.
[Purchase confirmed! Item is now transferred to your inventory!]
The balance updated. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
[Balance: 12,794,540 MC → 6,794,540 MC]
Marcus stepped back and looked at the open field near the cave. There was enough space. Flat ground. No obstructions.
He raised his hand slightly and summoned it.
The Black Hawk materialized with weight, landing gear settling into the dirt. The frame came into view first, then the rotor blades unfolded into position. Matte black. Solid. Built for transport.
Marcus gave it a quick look.
"...Good enough."
Before doing anything else, he turned back to the JLTV.
He opened the system and selected it.
[JLTV stored to inventory.]
The vehicle disappeared cleanly, leaving the area clear.
Marcus moved immediately.
He opened the side door of the helicopter.
Inside, there was enough room to lay them down properly.
He went back to the women.
He carried the first one carefully, supporting her weight as he brought her inside. He laid her down against the seat, making sure her head was supported.
Then the next.
And the next.
One by one.
Some of them barely reacted. Others opened their eyes for a moment, then closed them again.
"...Almost done," Marcus said quietly.
He went back for the last one and lifted her gently.
She was the lightest of all.
He carried her into the helicopter and laid her down with the others.
Eight.
All inside.
Marcus stepped back out for a second and checked the surroundings.
No movement from the cave.
No threats.
"...Alright."
He climbed into the cockpit.
Settled into the pilot seat.
Hands moved naturally across the controls.
The system knowledge was there, like it was as if he had flown one before.
"Okay, let’s move."
Marcus brought the Black Hawk to life.
The engine spooled up first, low and steady, then rising as the system stabilized. The rotor blades began to turn, slow at first, then faster, cutting through the air above them. Dust lifted from the ground, spreading outward in a widening circle.
He kept his eyes on the controls.
Everything felt natural.
Throttle, collective, cyclic—his hands moved without hesitation.
He checked the gauges once.
Stable.
Then he eased the collective up.
The helicopter lifted off the ground smoothly.
Inside the cabin, the women remained where he placed them. Some were still unconscious. Others stirred slightly from the vibration and noise, but none had the strength to sit up.
Marcus kept the flight low.
No need to climb high.
He followed the general direction back to Berm, using the terrain and the road below as reference.
"Hold on, we’ll get there in ten minutes."
