MMORPG: Divine Mech Hunter-Chapter 683 - : Decision
Chapter 683 -683: Decision
Starfire set up a temporary camp in this secluded location, letting their pets guard the area while they all rested.
Li Yao logged off to handle some tasks before re-joining the game and immediately went to sleep inside the tent.
This was the normal routine for everyone participating in the second round. Unless necessary, they rarely logged out and even sleeping was done inside the game. Nobody wanted any unexpected situations, not even Li Yao and his group let their guard down.
But, this was the benefit of having good pets. During camping, the players did not need to keep watch; their pets could do it for them.
Li Yao’s summons and Feng Yi’s summons were like a dense forest of darkness. At one point, even a demon army appeared, but upon seeing the dense group of skeletons, they presumed this outpost was occupied by the undead army, and they carried on without so much as a second glance, their massive force whistling past.
A few hours later, sitting atop a tank, Li Yao closed his eyes and focused on controlling the fire eagle. It was nearly a quarter of an hour before he opened his eyes.
...
“How is it?” Li Jie asked.
Li Yao replied, “The Black Tower transmission has disappeared, and the demons there seem to have scattered and likely gone to reinforce other essential places.”
“There should be a Black Tower within a thousand-mile radius. With so many demons now, it’s going to be even harder to claim outposts in the future.” The unparalleled demonic beauty frowned.
“The outposts we originally occupied were all small. Some of the medium-sized outposts are too hard for us to conquer, even with our tanks. It seems we need to find other teams.” Li Jie remarked.
The outposts they previously occupied resembled small villages-level bases, and even the tank factory was similar, each only handled by a single boss at the Warcraft level.
However, a medium-sized outpost would have more than ten Warcraft-level bosses, and an unpredictable number of elite demons, and from the clues they had, it seemed likely there would be even stronger bosses.
In this Trial Continent, just like in instances, the HP of each boss is fixed. Whether it is one person or ten people attacking, the HP they see is what it is and won’t increase with the number of people attacking.
This is starkly different from bosses in the wild, whose HP increases with an increase in the number of participants. This is the real reason why players can conquer these outposts at this stage.
Otherwise, it would be as difficult as challenging the Dark Touch and the Shengshi Guild’s location, trying to kill the Warcraft-level bosses in the wild is not at all easy.
The problem is that their attack power would remain unaffected. They could solve the problem of one boss by simply outnumbering it and applying various enhancements, but what about ten bosses? Or even stronger bosses?
“This is war, it’s not only about individual battle strength, but also about understanding the big picture, strategic wisdom, and of course, you also need a fair bit of luck.” Li Yao pointed to the map and said: “So, we need to take this place as quickly as possible, that’s an advantage.”
Li Jie and the others climbed into their respective tanks, and Guardian Angel asked: “So what exactly is this base that you are so focused on?”
“You’ll know when the time comes. It’s very exciting.” Li Yao replied, still not revealing any information.
“If it’s so important, why did we make a detour to the Enchantment base? What if someone else occupies it?” Unparalleled demonic beauty inquired, confused.
“It is virtually impossible for others to occupy it. Even if they do, this base has no use to them. It will end up with us eventually. I actually hope someone occupies it; I would rather trade than break this tough nut.”
After making sure that the Black Tower is no longer teleporting demons and that the demon army has also gone elsewhere, Starfire was finally on the move again.
The number of demon creatures they encountered was indeed much higher than before, but they posed no hindrance to their tanks.
Half a day later, Li Yao and the others finally arrived at the so-called Defensive Magic Research Institute.
They also learned the name of the enchantment: Mysterious Ice Barrier.
However, despite knowing that getting an enchantment required making sacrifices, the price still rendered Li Yao and his group speechless.
Just like when they occupied the tank factory, they were granted access to the tanks free of charge.
The first person to get to the research institute was also given a chance to add an enchantment for free.
So, for Li Yao and his crew to get a Mysterious Ice Barrier enchantment, they had to pay even more than the cost price, which made Li Yao groan in pain.
Enchantments offer two variants, one that lasts for three days, and another that lasts ten days.
The advantage of the three-day enchantment is its cheap cost, requiring five silver military merit badges.
While the ten-day version requires a golden military merit badge.
Besides them, if others wanted to get an enchantment, they would have to pay three times the price: A three-day enchantment would require a gold medal and five silver medals.
A third of these profits would be credited to Li Yao’s group. But the problem is the price- even Li Yao felt a pinch, let alone the three times more for others.
However, to occupy the outpost, their strength falls short. So, Li Yao gritted his teeth and offered ten military merit badges to enchant everybody.
Mysterious Ice Barrier: confers immunity to 15% of the damage inflicted by enemies below boss level, 30% of the damage inflicted by boss-level enemies, and 55% of the damage inflicted by Warcraft-level bosses.
Meanwhile, it can trigger a life shield in a short time with 500% of your HP. Though it only lasts five seconds with a half-hour cooldown, it could be a lifesaver at critical moments.
When they left, all ten of them were enveloped in a layer of profound blue light.
“Though it’s a bit expensive, it’s worth it.” Li Jie said: “Moreover, we retain it even upon death, which is impressive. We have over a hundred gold badges, the expense of ten isn’t much, don’t feel so bad.”
Li Yao slowly replied: “I am not begrudging this, I am hesitating about something else.”
Daimeng Tongtong curiously asked: “What are you hesitating about? Just tell us, Big Bro.”
“Fine.” Li Yao shared his map and said: “Look at the arrow I marked. It leads to a medium-sized outpost, the Holy Light Magic Crystal Mine.”
“What’s worth hesitating about? We’ve seen more than one medium outpost, and for the time being, we don’t have enough strength for it anyway. Even if you fancy it, once you’ve occupied the outpost you’ve got in mind, we can always come back here.” Unparalleled demonic beauty stated.
“Holy Light Crystal. You probably don’t know much about it. A piece as big as a fist is enough to infuse into weapons and armor. At the very least, it’s an upgraded version of a light potion, which will enhance our attack power by more than 50%,” Li Yao continued: “Moreover, through the vision of my fire eagle, I discovered a large number of players gathering nearby, obviously planning to conquer this place. If we first conquer the outpost I have in mind, I’m afraid that when we got back, others will have occupied the mine. So, I am wondering whether or not we should join in.”
“How many people are there on the other side?” Li Jie asked.
“Not less than five thousand as far as I can see,” Li Yao replied.
“Over five hundred teams. And we can’t use our tanks in the mine, so it’s highly uncertain,” Unparalleled demonic beauty also frowned.
“Let’s give it a shot. If we had this mine, we would get a lot of military merits.” Feng Yi suggested.

Everyone nodded, all of them appearing very tempted. Even if the defense enchantment’s defense properties were strong, barely anyone would invest so heavily in it at this stage. But this kind of mine was different.
If its effect was as good as advertised, then…
