Miss Witch Doesn't Want to be a Diva-Chapter 382 - 128: The Rose-Red Lake
After leaving the Student Council office, Tilan returned to her residence, and it was already afternoon.
As the end of May approached, the temperature in the South First District gradually cooled down. After taking a bath and wearing a loose nightgown, Tilan sat in front of the bed, looking at the large yellowing leaves outside the window, layered upon each other. A breeze swept through the room, drying the slight dampness on her body, bringing a sense of cool comfort.
It seemed that she had processed a lot of information today. She leaned against the headboard and hugged the pillow, closing her eyes for a brief rest while sorting through and recalling the information received earlier.
Taking over the Student Council required step-by-step action. The current president would graduate in less than two months, which meant the time she had to prepare was limited and couldn’t be put off indefinitely.
Apart from rectifying the atmosphere within the Academy, such as the Indigo Cornflower Club, she also needed to prepare her own team to take over the work of the Student Council. Otherwise, she alone wouldn’t have the energy to handle many issues, which Amors had reminded her at the start of the school year.
Although the Student Council wasn’t short of people for now, it wouldn’t necessarily be the case after Amors’ graduation. When he became the president, most of the people he selected were from his own grade. There weren’t many added later, leading to numerous vacancies once they graduated.
She could find a few people from her own club to help, and the rest might require public recruitment. Annelli could assist with this. Given the power group she represented, there was definitely no shortage of excellent people; she could arrange that, saving Tilan the trouble of going through other channels.
Deciding on this felt like ticking off a checkbox on an internal planning sheet, eliminating an option that occupied her attention, which lightened the girl’s load a bit. Next was the immediate issue to be resolved, how to deal with the Cornflower Club.
Hmm... President Amors’ suggestion wasn’t bad, but she couldn’t say she was particularly fond of it. It was just that everyone had their own way of doing things.
However, she still wanted to understand the details of that club and their true mode of interaction more thoroughly. Perhaps she would have to ask Deloris, who, as a well-known and influential young lady in the South First District, should be able to access that circle quite easily.
Having decided to have dinner with Deloris that night, Tilan relaxed, thinking a nap at this time should be alright.
Her body slid down from the headboard and she pulled over the thin blanket, lying on her side against the pillow. The black-haired girl gradually fell asleep.
For the weariness of one’s soul consciousness, sleep was the best way to recover. Having the "Soul Resonance," the source of a Songstress’ Talent, would lead to a certain tiredness if used for extended periods, also making one prone to sleepiness.
As time reached four in the afternoon, a refreshed Tilan felt particularly good after awaking and donned her simple Academy uniform before lightly heading downstairs.
Having exchanged quick greetings with the two maids in the house, she walked through the quiet tree-lined paths within the Academy and then saw Deloris waiting for her under a large tree by the lakeside.
This similarly black-haired young lady was gazing at the distant lake, with a maid holding an umbrella beside her, and a black luxury vehicle parked on the road next to them.
Knowing only that it was an expensive car, with its design and interior that were clearly not ordinary, Tilan wasn’t very interested in cars, and she hadn’t even bothered to look up the brand or model to date.
"I’m here, sorry to have kept Deloris waiting," she said, having set her alarm to arrive five minutes early, not knowing how long the lady before her had been there.
"Actually, I haven’t been waiting long, about ten minutes early. It’s impressive that Tilan could wake up on time; it’s not easy for you," said Deloris, covering her mouth with a light laugh. Through their time together, she had come to know just how much Tilan loved her sleep, seemingly able to fall asleep anywhere.
"Let’s get in the car first, and we can continue talking on the way," Deloris suggested as she led Tilan towards the black luxury vehicle parked nearby.
The two sat in the back seat, with a maid driving in the front, though she was really just assisting as most of the driving was handled by the car’s AI autopilot.
"Head to Cornell Lake."
"Yes, Miss," replied the maid as she entered the destination, and the vehicle started up, smoothly rising before taking flight.
Noticing Tilan’s curiosity, Deloris explained, "Cornell Lake is the signature scenery of the Cornell module. There’s a restaurant there with a beautiful view."

Despite the extremely high land prices in the South First District, there were scenic modules inserted in between for people’s relaxation and entertainment. These modules had minimal human-made structures, mostly preserving their natural state, and covered large areas, featuring mountains, forests, lakes, and more.
The vehicle moved along the aerial routes, passing through clusters of tall, bustling buildings, weaving through numerous Hover Cars, and finally entering the edge of a scenic module before landing smoothly.
Hover Car flights were prohibited within the scenic module to preserve its original appearance. Otherwise, it would be too jarring to see Hover Cars flying overhead while camping in the forest.
Taking an access road beside them, the black luxury car drove for a distance on the ground before stopping not far from a lake. Read exclusive content at novelbuddy
"From here, we can only proceed on foot," Deloris told Tilan, and they both got out of the car.
Before them lay a vast, shallow red lake. The breeze skimmed the surface, creating delicate ripples and waves, adding to its beauty.
Cornell Lake wasn’t deep, with the deepest part barely 3 meters, and most areas were just about 1 meter deep, clearly revealing the white salt crystals on the lakebed. Indeed, this was a saltwater lake inhabited only by certain unique red algae.
