Medical and Martial God-Chapter 131: That’s Enough for Today
"Someone’s been killed! Someone’s been killed!" the security guard at the door shrieked, scrambling back into the hotel.
He was then knocked out by a Ninja Warrior who had returned to the hotel lobby. The other Ninja Warriors quickly subdued the rest of the staff. The Yalton Hotel had been fully booked by Kuroki Suzu, ensuring that as long as the staff were controlled, no outsiders would know what had transpired.
"Bastards!"
After knocking out all the staff, the nineteen Ninja Warriors stared at Kitahara Eiji’s body lying at the entrance, their faces livid with rage.
They had only arrived in Jin Ye City yesterday. First, Tengjing’s arm was severed, then Take Shitamura was beaten senseless, and now Kitahara Eiji had been sniped. They hadn’t accomplished a single thing yet and had already lost three people.
Actually, it wasn’t three, but four; they still didn’t know that Ye Xiu had killed Ito Meiya.
"How could there be a sniper?"
Just then, Kuroki Suzu and Miyamoto Satoshi came running over. Looking at the still-shaken Ming Yue and the others, Kuroki Suzu asked.
"It must have been someone Ye Xiu sent," one Ninja Warrior guessed.
"It wasn’t sent by Ye Xiu." Ming Yue, who had kept her composure, analyzed, "If Ye Xiu wanted to kill us, he wouldn’t need a sniper. Besides, I was standing right next to Kitahara Eiji. It would have been easy for the sniper to kill me, but he killed Kitahara Eiji instead. Clearly, the sniper wasn’t targeting us."
"Ming Yue has a point. The sniper’s target isn’t us, but these Sang Jing Ninja Warriors," Xu Jinghao said gravely.
Among everyone present, only he knew that Ye Xiu had crushed the Great Grandmaster Ito Meiya. A person capable of instantly killing a Great Grandmaster would have no need to send a sniper; he could just come over and kill them with a blade. Obviously, the sniper wasn’t working with Ye Xiu.
"That makes sense!" Kuroki Suzu agreed with the analysis from Ming Yue and Xu Jinghao, snorting coldly. "Ye Xiu doesn’t even know we came to Jin Ye City for him. He has no reason to attack us!"
Hearing this, Xu Jinghao chuckled inwardly. Oh, little sister, Ye Xiu already knows.
"Could it be an enemy of Kitahara Eiji’s?" asked Miyamoto Satoshi.
"If that were the case, with Kitahara Eiji dead, the sniper should have left," Kuroki Suzu said.
"But what if he hasn’t?" Ming Yue asked. "What if the sniper’s target wasn’t just Kitahara Eiji, but all of you?"
"I’ll know whether he’s left or not if I go out and take a look." Cautiously, Kuroki Suzu walked out of the hotel. Standing at the entrance, she scanned the surroundings with a sharp gaze.
A War God Level master could sense killing intent and react the instant it flared. Therefore, a sniper’s chance of successfully assassinating a War God Level master was nearly zero.
After waiting for more than ten minutes without sensing any killing intent, Kuroki Suzu turned around, returned to the hotel lobby, and stated, "Alright, the sniper has left. You can all go about your business."
Her tone was utterly certain.
While secretly marveling at Kuroki Suzu’s boldness, Ming Yue and the others heaved a huge sigh of relief. They still had great faith in her judgment.
Ming Yue asked, "Now that Kitahara Eiji is dead, will you assign someone else to me?"
Kuroki Suzu nodded and assigned another Eighth Grade Grandmaster Ninja Warrior to Ming Yue.
Thus, Ming Yue and the others stepped out of the hotel once more. And indeed, the sniper did not strike.
"Proceed according to the original plan," Ming Yue said.
The group nodded. They walked to the roadside to hail taxis, planning to split into twenty teams, each responsible for capturing one person.
BANG!
Suddenly, the Eighth Grade Grandmaster Ninja Warrior beside Ming Yue, Harada Zozo, was shot in the head.
Instinctively, Ming Yue and the others dove to the ground in terror, cursing Kuroki Suzu in their hearts for screwing them over. The sniper hadn’t left at all!
"The sniper’s still here! Everyone, back to the hotel!"
The Ninja Warriors reacted first. Ignoring Ming Yue and the others, they scrambled to their feet and sprinted back toward the Yalton Hotel.
Seeing this, Ming Yue’s group snapped out of it and hurriedly got up to follow.
However, after just a few steps, they saw the Ninja Warriors running ahead of them getting picked off, one by one.
This plunged Ming Yue and the others into even greater fear. They screamed in their minds, Run faster, run faster! At that moment, they only wished their parents had given them more legs; they were moving far too slowly.
The Ninja Warriors were the first to flee back into the hotel lobby. Of the original twenty, only fifteen were left.
"Why are you back?" Kuroki Suzu asked, confused.
"The sniper never left! He deliberately waited until we were far from the hotel before opening fire," one of the Ninja Warriors panted.
"What?"
The faces of Kuroki Suzu and Miyamoto Satoshi changed drastically. Kuroki Suzu asked, "Who died?"
The fifteen Ninja Warriors glanced at each other before one of them reported, "Harada Zozo, Watanabe, Kobayashi, Ishikawa, and Miura."
"BASTARDS!" Kuroki Suzu roared in fury. An astonishing killing aura erupted from her, and the floor tiles beneath her feet instantly shattered.
In such a short time, six of their people had been sniped, including two Eighth Grade Grandmasters. The other four were of the Sixth and Seventh Grade. Since its founding, the Tiansha Association had never suffered such heavy losses in such a short period.
An absolute disgrace!
"It seems the sniper is targeting us," Miyamoto Satoshi said, his face grim. "The strange thing is, who sent him?"
"I don’t care who he is. Sooner or later, I will personally cut off his head," Kuroki Suzu said hatefully.
Just then, Ming Yue and her group stumbled back in, gasping for breath.
"The sniper is targeting you all," Ming Yue said breathlessly. "With him out there, none of you can leave the hotel. With just our people, we won’t be able to capture Qin Qing and the others."
SLAP!
With no other way to vent her fury, Kuroki Suzu slapped Ming Yue across the face. "Go and bring back the bodies of Harada Zozo and the others."
Ming Yue clutched her stinging cheek, feeling deeply wronged, but she nevertheless led her people to retrieve the five bodies.
"When I was getting the bodies, a girl asked me to give you this," Ming Yue said, handing a folded piece of paper to Kuroki Suzu.
Kuroki Suzu paused for a moment, then took the paper and unfolded it.
The note read: "This is all for today..."
HISS!
Kuroki Suzu drew a sharp breath, her anger boiling over.
A provocation! A blatant provocation!
"Did the sniper really leave?" Miyamoto Satoshi asked.
"He’s trying to use the note to lure us out. He hasn’t actually left," Kuroki Suzu said, her expression suggesting she had seen right through the sniper’s scheme.
"Then are we still going to kidnap Qin Qing and her group?" Ming Yue asked.
SLAP!
Kuroki Suzu slapped Ming Yue again. "Are you trying to send my people to their deaths?"
Ming Yue was speechless.
"Mr. Miyamoto, notify our people who are outside not to return for now, to avoid being sniped," Kuroki Suzu instructed.
"Right!" Miyamoto Satoshi quickly took out his phone to contact their people.
「...」
Ye Xiu was strolling down the street alone when he suddenly received a call from Gong Jin.
"Young Master, a mysterious sniper has appeared near the Yalton Hotel," Gong Jin reported. "Six of the Ninja Warriors embedded in the Sang Jing Medical Investigation Team have been sniped."
"Is that so?" Ye Xiu exclaimed. "Who is the sniper?"
"The sniper is extremely professional," Gong Jin replied. "By the time our people found the sniper’s nest, the person was long gone. However, there was a faint fragrance left behind, so I suspect the sniper is a woman."
"You must find her. She’s very dangerous," Ye Xiu said.
"Understood," Gong Jin responded. "Also, about the An Dongye you asked me to look into—I’ve checked. She was a freshman in the Ancient Medicine program at Yunluo Medical University, but her name and records are fake. There’s no record of her in the population database of any country. She’s a stateless person with no official identity."
