Maximize Interest, My Money Grows Infinitely-Chapter 27 - A 2 Million Commercial Bill
Chapter 27: Chapter 27 A 2 Million Commercial Bill
Chapter 27 -27 A 2 Million Commercial Bill
95 Donghuamen Street, TRB Forbidden City.
As the best scenic view restaurant in all of Beijing, located outside the Eastern Gate of the Forbidden City, it’s only separated from the Imperial Palace by the Moat.
The window seats on the second floor are always the hot spot for girls to check in on social media.
Chen Cheng chose this place for a very simple reason.
Because when browsing through Tong Jialu’s social media timeline, Chen Cheng noticed that of the top nine French restaurants in Beijing, she had visited eight, leaving just this one.
And Tong Jialu’s reaction did not disappoint him.
As she stepped into the restaurant and saw the table she had been dreaming of, her eyes were filled with excitement.
“Brother Cheng!
How did you manage to book this spot?” Tong Jialu couldn’t contain her thrill, “I’ve been trying to get a reservation for a long time, but could never get one!”
Chen Cheng smiled and pulled out the chair for her, “If that’s the case, it truly is a loss for this restaurant.”
“A loss of what?”
“Missing out on someone as beautiful as Xiao Lu to check in here.”
Tong Jialu lowered her eyes and a faint smile emerged on her lips, “Thank you.”
Once the two of them were seated, Chen Cheng was quite generous.
He ordered everything prestigious—star garoupa, M9 wagyu beef, salmon, foie gras, and roasted lobster—a spread of premium dishes.
Hearing Chen Cheng’s order, Tong Jialu’s face beamed with pride.
“Care for a drink?” Chen Cheng asked.
Tong Jialu pinched her fingers and tilted her head, “I could have a little.”
Chen Cheng returned the wine menu to the waiter without even opening it, “Penfolds 389.”
“Very well, sir,” said the waiter.
After the waiter left, “I won’t be drinking with you today.”
“Ah~” Tong Jialu dragged out her tone in disappointment.
Chen Cheng chuckled, “I’ll drive you home later.
It’s not safe for a girl to drink and be out alone.”
“Brother Cheng, you’re really so considerate~”
“That’s what a gentleman should do.”
At that moment, the waiter brought the red wine ordered by Chen Cheng and, after confirming with him, opened the bottle.
While they waited for their meal, Tong Jialu said, “Brother Cheng, it’s too extravagant of you.”
Chen Cheng waved his hand nonchalantly, “Beautiful lady, beautiful view, and exquisite cuisine—thank you, Xiao Lu, for giving me a wonderful evening.”
Tong Jialu smiled softly, “Brother Cheng, I must say, you do have a way with words that’s quite captivating.”
“Ah?
Do I seem that stern and rigid to you?” Chen Cheng asked deliberately.
“Yes, you scared me to death!” Tong Jialu nodded emphatically, “Especially that time I nearly ran into your Maybach.”
“Hey, even if you had, it would have been a rear-end collision by me!” Chen Cheng said nonchalantly, “Besides, wasn’t that the beginning of us getting to know each other better?”
With that one line, Tong Jialu’s smile grew even wider.
“Brother Cheng, I’m really grateful for you taking me out to dinner tonight.” Tong Jialu expressed her appreciation once again.
“Xiao Lu, if you thank me again, it will make me, your ‘brother,’ quite unhappy,” Chen Cheng responded half-jokingly.
Tong Jialu immediately covered her mouth with her hands, her eyes sparkling with laughter, and mumbled indistinctly, “Okay, I’ll stop talking about it, stop talking about it.”
Soon enough, the delicately prepared roasted lobster with spicy tomato and hot cheese sauce was served, filling the air with its inviting aroma.
Chen Cheng poured wine for Tong Jialu.
“Xiao Lu, would you like to take my seat?” Chen Cheng offered, “Shall I take a photo for you?”
Tong Jialu’s hand was already eagerly on her phone.
Before her was the splendid and majestic night view of Donghuamen, and on the table was the expensive French cuisine and red wine.
The photo would be just perfect!
“Wouldn’t that be too much trouble for you?” she asked, somewhat embarrassed.
Chen Cheng had already stood up, “Come on, let’s see if my camera can capture your smile.”
They switched places, and Tong Jialu took the seat by the window, with the night view of Donghuamen as her backdrop.
Chen Cheng found the perfect angle, capturing the person, door, dishes, and drinks all skillfully in the frame, “Smile.”
Tong Jialu naturally revealed a smile, and Chen Cheng quickly pressed the shutter button.
“Done, take a look.
Are you satisfied?” Chen Cheng handed the phone back.
Tong Jialu took it and covered her mouth in surprise, “Brother Cheng!
Are you a photographer?
No need for Photoshop!
The original photo is perfect!”
Chen Cheng’s photography skills were honed thanks to his ex-girlfriend, Zhang Qianqian.
Thousands of photographs contributed to his expertise.
Now, when he recalls that past, he always feels a touch of melancholy.
“Xiao Lu is naturally beautiful, definitely no need for beauty filters or Photoshop!” He raised his glass of water, “Cheers to the end of a working day.”
Tong Jialu held her glass with both hands, “Than…”
She immediately corrected herself, “Wishing Brother Cheng’s business prosperity!”
The clear sound of clinking glasses echoed in their ears.
Tong Jialu ate the delicately prepared lobster, squinting her eyes in delight, “So delicious!”
“Glad you like it,” said Chen Cheng with a smile.
Tong Jialu: “Brother Cheng, what do you like to do in your free time?”
Chen Cheng thought about the content of his social media moments, “Reading!
I’m currently reading ‘To Live’.”
Tong Jialu’s eyes widened, “You like Yu Lao’s books too?”
“You like them too?” Chen Cheng asked knowingly.
“Yes!”
Chen Cheng smiled, “What a coincidence.”
“Isn’t it!
I rarely meet someone who’s also a fan of Yu Lao’s books!”
“To live is just for living.”
Chen Cheng paused, “The small individual, adrift and directionless in the turbulent times, it’s quite thought-provoking.”
Tong Jialu looked up to him, “Brother Cheng, not only do you have a business mind, but you also have a literary side!”
“It seems we have a lot of common topics!” Chen Cheng took another sip of water.
“Yes!
I’m so happy today!
It’s been a memorable workday!” Tong Jialu toasted Chen Cheng again.
The two continued to chat, but Chen Cheng kept thinking about the real purpose of the dinner.
“Xiao Lu, I’d like to consult you about some things regarding the company,” he tried to say.
Tong Jialu nodded, “Ask away, Brother Cheng.”
“My company wants to issue a six-month, two-million-yuan commercial bill for working capital turnover,” Chen Cheng paused, “What are the discounting rates at your bank?”
Tong Jialu pondered for a moment and took out her phone, “Let me check for you.”
“Thanks, I appreciate it.”
“It’s no trouble.”
A few minutes later, Tong Jialu answered, “Between 4.3% to 5.4%, roughly in that range.”
“Can you handle it?”
“Of course!” Tong Jialu’s eyes crinkled with a smile.
Chen Cheng asked with a smile, “Can you have it done in the next couple of days?”
“The credentials of your company are very good, no problems,” Tong Jialu confidently said, “If you need it, I’ll take care of it as soon as I get to work tomorrow.
I’ve got a backup of your documents!” fɾeeweɓnѳveɭ.com
Chen Cheng raised his glass, “That’s really very kind of you.
Thank you.”
“No thanks allowed,” Tong Jialu said with a smile, “Brother Cheng, you set that rule, remember~”
“Haha, look at my memory!”
“I always say you important people tend to be forgetful~”
One meal in exchange for a two-million-yuan commercial bill.
To Chen Cheng, the thought of reopening Wanbao Hall was beckoning to him from not too far away.
He estimated in his mind, “Everything’s ready now, I just need the east wind from Li Dinger’s side!”
