Max Level Newbie-Chapter 174
Fortunately, the attempt this time around was quite beneficial.
It wasn’t possible to obtain information on the true entrance of hell, but it gave a good idea on what the present demon world was like.
“Phewww.”
However, Vulcan sighed.
As if he was an investor who has lost a ton of money at the end of a crashing day in the stock market, Vulcan began to admonish himself by pulling out his hair.
Naturally, that was all he could do.
It was the right arm of the great hero Al Farum whom he has killed.
He was a key member of the ‘half demon king alliance’, formed under the leadership of the great hero Lassium, who had fought against the Nurhark Dimension’s demon king Athilhu.
‘That was the reason….. Because it was the time of confusion as everyone was struggling against each other that a possibility of success was visible, even if it was the demon world in which there existed demons that I could not conquer with my power. The system did not lead me here in vain!’
Realizing this fact, Vulcan ran around the entire demon world, and took the time to analyze the demon king’s military and the half demon king alliance’s forces in detail.
Only by learning the information on the types of power which each of them had, he could decide on the direction in which he would take going forward.
And after he had begun to investigate the relevant information, Vulcan has started to feel regretful.
Based on the gathered intelligence, it appeared to be difficult to defeat the demon king even if the half demon king alliance was to be divided.
As far as the numbers went, the half demon king alliance was superior.
It was because the demons joined forces with the great hero after observing the demon king’s tyranny over how much harsher he had treated the peasants over the ordinary demons.
In the end, it could be said that other than the demon king’s direct corps, there stood no other forces with him.
‘However….. What good use is a number in the world of demons…..’
If this had been a war among the nations in the human world in which there were no capable ones, the number of troops would have played a major factor.
It would be difficult even for a general to kill 1,000 troops, no matter what.
However, this was the place in which a single powerful one with the strength of a demon king level could certainly overcome tens of millions of little demons.
Ultimately, there was a high probability that the war would be decided by the battles between demon king against the strong ones among the half demon king alliance.
‘There were seven all together…. Including the great hero with 1,300 level, the three dukes in the lower half of 1,200 level, the three loyal servants in the lower half of 1,110 level. Although haven’t seen the demon king’s side…. He would be easily over 1,400 level since he is an A level. It was supposed to be a battle between 1 against 7, but since I have inadvertently killed one of them…..’
Vulcan lowered his head, and let out another sigh.
A battle of 1 against 6.
No, it would be 1 vs 7 as he would join the side of the half demon king alliance in order to maintain a balance.
However, despite that, Vulcan felt that the advantage would be in favor of the demon king, not in the half demon king alliance forces.
But as luck would have it, even if the demon king’s level was exactly 1,400, the chance of winning by the half demon king alliance would be less than half, even with him joining forces.
‘Aaa… No. I could imagine dividing and conquering if the half demon king alliance would be victorious, but if the demon king was to win….. This quest, too, would be lost.’
And based on Vulcan’s estimation, there was a high probability of failing the hidden quest, should he not succeed in the A level quest.
Thinking that far, Vulcan came to a thought that he would have to make the half demon-kings alliance to be powerful, at all cost.
‘The quest of Nurhark dimension which the system has especially emphasized…. Furthermore, the reward is the ‘platform for advancement’. It is highly abstract, but it is essentially what I need….. I do not want to lose it, no matter what!’
He had only a month of time remaining.
The alliance has been formed during the brief time the king Athilhu vacated his position, so there was a high probability of the battles commencing in a month when he was expected to return.
He needed a way to strengthen the power of the alliance within that time.
Vulcan struggled over and over, and picked his brain in order to come up with a way to make that happen.
“…..”
Shoook.
Finally having decided, Vulcan first exited the demon world by using the demonic instrument.
And quickly, he summoned Powell, using the communication magic.
-What is it? I’m busy and in the middle of my study, so if it is not urgent, call me later?
-Ah, thankfully, you are there. I was worried that you may have gone to a demon world…..
-Hm, it must be an urgent matter. What do you need?
– I’ll come over there first.
As quickly as if he was about to lose his breath, Vulcan teleported to where Powell was.
Before Powell who was looking at him with half interest, and half bothered, Vulcan opened up the inventory.
Then he poured out the items in bulk.
Vulcan spoke.
“Could you possibly take these items to Percus to have them strengthened?”
“This…. Demon duke’s set? I thought I told you that I didn’t need them….. By any chance, do you intent to pull out demonic instruments to other gods? Well, good decision! You’ve got six sets? When did you gather them all?”
Powell approached to meet Vulcan, and playfully grabbed Vulcan’s hands.
Vulcan shook his head, seeing Powell.
“I’m sorry, but these are not for young gods. That’s because I need to use them for something else.”
“Darn, I’m disappointed. Well, OK. Since I still have the miraculous hand that you’ve given me earlier, I would take care of this right away for you.”
Powell was taking all the credit, although the actual work was going to be performed by Percus.
Vulcan smiled and bowed in appreciation to Powell, and Powell took the 6 items that were laid before his eyes to Percus, and returned.
Only
He then asked Vulcan.
“You are not even giving them to others, so why are you strengthening them? Well, players rarely act in the ways that are comprehensible, but I really can’t understand it, this time around?”
“It is true, they are for others.”
“Yah? Did you find someone, in Act 2, who is worthy to be made your apprentice?”
“Well….. Something like that.”
Uncomfortable with providing a sensible explanation, Vulcan vaguely buried his reply in Vulcan’s words.
Then he thought.
‘If skill is lacking then at least you should have weapons….I shall be your Santa Claus.’
