(Author’s POV)

"It’s already pretty late. You should rest now. We will be taking our leave," Sara said to Myra as she gave her one last hug. It has been approximately an hour since they have been talking nonstop.

"Sara, you take care on your way too and call me once you reach," Myra replied, giving her a toothy smile.

"I will. And~ ... there is something I have been meaning to give you," Sara pulled something out of her bag, "This~ ... is for you," she placed a tiny purple velvet box in Myra’s palm.

Myra’s eyes flickered as she pushed it back immediately, "Sara, you have already given me so many gifts. Plus, you came to meet me in person, which is the biggest present. Now, I can’t accept this."

"Ummhmm~ ... I am happy that you think like that, but~ .... you have to take it. Give me your hand," Sara opened the box and spoke, her voice firm along with her grip. Myra obeyed as Sara fastened something on her left wrist. "This is a protective charm, infused with defensive powers, one of the treasures of our Moon Shine pack. In any situation, it will keep you safe and sound."

"But~ ... Sara~ .... this is your pack’s~ ... I can’t take~" Myra hesitated, knowing about its history. But Sara didn’t give her any chance to refuse, "When an elder gives you something. You should take it with open hands, without feeling burdened, hmm. It will ease mine as well as your parents’ worries." Myra nodded and clasped the bracelet with her right hand, "Okay. I will keep it safe."

Sara beamed and mumbled, "Wear it at all times." With that, all of them got out of Myra’s room and went to the living room, where Sandra and William were talking to Nora.

"Sandra, William. It was so nice to meet you. I would have loved to chat some more, but I need to get going," Sara spoke.

"Why are you going so early? Mrs. Evere~ ... I mean Sara, you should stay the night," Sandra insisted.

"I would want to, but I have to attend some urgent business," Sara said regretfully.

"If it is work, that can’t be helped. But we are glad that you came. It really meant a lot to all of us," William added, while putting his arm around Sandra’s shoulder.

"Don’t worry. I am staying the night," Nora wrapped her hands around Myra. "We have so much to talk about, so much to catch up. And~ ... we have to open those gifts as well. Myra, I, Wendy and Yelena, we are all going to stay up till the wee hours and have fun." She was clearly excited.

As they all were busy talking, the sound of the doorbell interrupted them. Yelena quickly rushed out of the kitchen, "It must be grandpa." Then she went straight towards the door.

"Grandpa, what took you so long?" Yelena asked when she looked at Garry.

"The meeting extended for another two hours," Garry replied casually.

"Mrs. Yates senior, you are here," William rushed to greet him, and Garry just nodded. "Don’t stand there. Please come inside."

As Garry marched inside with others, he saw not just the Everests siblings but also Sara Everests, their mother. For a second, he was really taken aback, but kept his expression normal.

Sandra did the introductions between them as Sara looked at him from head to toe with a curious look. Garry extended his hand, "Mrs. Everests, pleasure to meet you." Sara shook his hand, her eyes locked on Garry’s face, "Mr. Yates senior, have we ever met before?" she asked.

Garry blinked, then smiled, "Unfortunately, no." She withdrew his hand and then walked towards Myra. "Ms. Miracle, I see you have recovered. Congratulations," he spoke, and the next, Oliver Grey, his secretary, walked inside with multiple paper bags. "Ms. Miracle, these are some of the gifts for you."

"Mrs. Yates senior, Secretary Grey, these are way too many things," Myra said, but Garry, just like Sara, insisted. "You should take them."

In between, Sara’s phone started vibrating; it was Noah’s message. "I will be taking my leave now. See you again~ ..." she said. And with that, she nodded at all of them and started walking towards the door; Alaric and Elio followed her. Once outside, she looked back and mumbled, "This Mr. Yates senior, I think I have seen him somewhere."

"You must have met him at some business banquet. He has many chain restaurants across the world," Alaric told her. But Sara added, "No, I don’t think it was at any party where we met. I am sure of that. Al, investigate him, his records, his entire history, thoroughly. Don’t leave anything, no matter how insignificant," she commanded.

Though Alaric didn’t understand, still he nodded, "Yes, mother." Then Sara added, "Uhhh~ ... and check whether he has ever been to Kimberg or not."

In the living room, Yelena exclaimed loudly, "HOLY SHI~ .... What the heck is this~ ...."

"Yelena, what happened?" William asked. "Why do you sound so shocked?"

Yelena, without lifting her head, said, her voice a decibel or two louder than before, "On~ ... the university forum~ .... There is something posted on the university forum."

"What are you saying?" Sandra inquired with confusion.

"It’s about that guy Nigel Long~ ... the one who was spreading rumours about Myra. He had posted a video," saying this, she turned the screen around and hit the play sign.

The next second, the living room was filled with Nigel’s shaky voice, "I am Nigel Long from the Department of Finance major."

Myra narrowed her eyes at the screen. Nigel had a few not so obvious bruises on his face as he continued, "You all must know about my suspension and what happened outside the university gate a week ago. I am making this video to apologize to Myra Miracle for what I did to her. And also, I want to confess my wrongdoings."

"Did you watch the~ .... ohhh you are watching~ ...." Wendy hurriedly descended the stairs and said, her voice quite loud.

Meanwhile, Nigel continued, with each word, his voice trembled, "I was wrong to spread nasty rumors about Myra. I was wrong to spout ugly things about her. I was wrong to get into a fight with her. I was wrong to get violent with her and another fellow student. I was the one who posted those misleading photoshopped images of her and Mr. Alaric Everests. I was jealous of her achievements. I was resentful towards her for taking my place. I didn’t like her at all, and that’s why I did that." He confessed, then he took a prolonged pause as everyone waited. "And lastly~ .... her kidnapping, her accident. The reason she is admitted to a hospital is that my parents planned it to get revenge for me."

Nigel, who was standing, got down on both his knees and rubbed his nose on the floor repeatedly, saying, "I am sorry, Myra. I am so sorry for what happened to you. I know what my family and I did to you was wrong, and it is shameless of me even to say this, but please have mercy on us." After that, he started crying and apologising again and again for a whole minute, then the video ended.

The room fell into a dead silence, leaving everyone speechless.
