Chapter 59 -58 Persuade Me_1
“Speak up, what’s the matter?” Mu Lin had specifically called him, so there must be something going on. After all, he doesn’t think Mu Lin would seek him out for no reason.
“I need a favor from you, though I don’t know if it will interfere with your plans and goals,” Mu Lin said, a smirk playing on her lips.
“Let’s hear it.” His eyebrows arched, intrigued.
“I hope that you could… release them.” Mu Lin’s words took everyone by surprise, including Jing Chen; “Why?” Jing Chen asked.
“No reason.” Mu Lin said casually. She had her own motives, and had no plans to disclose them to anyone; those motives would only serve any purpose once those two people returned to their own home.
If they died… she would have to start searching for clues all over again…which would be quite a hassle.
“What was your primary reason for capturing those two?” After a pause, Mu Lin asked casually, though she wouldn’t really care whether Jing Chen answered or not.
She had assumed that he wouldn’t answer her question, given that missions are usually confidential, especially ones involving someone like Jing Chen; but unexpectedly, he replied, “It’s actually not a big deal, the higher-ups just don’t want a repeat of what happened last time.”
The ‘last time’ he referred to was the incident involving Zhang Mingzhe; after all, if it hadn’t been Zhang Mingzhe but his father who had been victimized last time, B City would’ve no doubt been thrown into turmoil, so it’s no wonder Jing Chen was given the responsibility. After all, he was more familiar with J Province than anyone.
“It seems we still have something to discuss,” Mu Lin laughed.
“We indeed have things to talk about.” After all, this matter was somewhat relevant to her, “Let’s hear it, how are you planning to convince me?” The corners of his lips curving deeper.
Holy crap! Had they missed countless conversation topics?
Raising their ears, they heard their Boss utter such a barefaced comment, their hearts instantly chilled.

Neither Mu Lin nor Jing Chen could have imagined that such a simple phrase, when heard by their soldiers, could cause such a huge misunderstanding. It was like an endless dirty joke. Fortunately, they weren’t in front of them, otherwise, they’d be drowned in curious glances.
Even after endless drills, this bunch never ceased worrying about their Boss’s marital affairs. Suppose Mu Lin knew, would she feel pity for him?
“Do I need to convince you?” Hearing Jing Chen’s words, Mu Lin counter-questioned, a mere smirk playing on her lips. Still, those around them could already sense Mu Lin’s good mood, yet her conversation with Jing Chen gave them quite a shock.
They had never seen anyone speak to Jing Chen so casually, in such a flat tone. The sound coming from the phone clearly showed that Jing Chen was also relaxed. This deepened their speculation about the veracity of the casual joke that Mu Lin once accidently blurted out… exactly how true it was?
When did Mu Lin and Jing Chen meet? They were really curious about this.
Hearing Mu Lin’s words, Jing Chen could somehow imagine her expression at the moment, his smile deepening further, “It seems you’re right.” He paused before continuing, “But I’d still like to ask a favor of you. Of course, you could also consider it a request.”
“What is it?”
“Come and be our exclusive doctor in my team.” Usually, each mercenary team has its own assigned team doctor, but the Ying Sun team was different. For Jing Chen, even a traveling doctor must have equal, if not superior, physical abilities to everyone else. Otherwise, during a mission, they would only be a hindrance, which he would rather not have.
So, aside from everyone in Ying Sun knowing only the basics like bullet removal or basic wound dressing, they were all medical noobs, otherwise, Jing Chen wouldn’t have been pushed to the brink last time.
Jing Chen didn’t know about Mu Lin’s fighting abilities, but he was interested in her medical skills. As for the fighting abilities, he could train her. Naturally, it would be quicker to train the already-trained military doctors in his team.
It was a mystery as to what Mu Lin would think if she knew Jing Chen’s thoughts at the moment.
Jing Chen didn’t know why he invited Mu Lin, but his instinct told him that it wasn’t a bad idea.
“Hehehe…” Yet the first reaction that came to him was Mu Lin’s quiet chuckle, like a gust of wind, giving Jing Chen a slight itch in his ear and a chill in his heart.
“It seems like this time it’s your turn to think about how to convince me.”
