Master, Your Wife Has Become a Super Star Through Fortune-Telling-Chapter 137 - 138: Member of the Deceit Night Altar
Su Nian’s face was a stony mask. She said nothing, her slaps just growing heavier.
The ghost hurriedly cried out, "I know I was wrong! I’ll leave right now, I’ll leave right now!"
Su Nian smiled, her chin tilting up in her usual arrogant manner. The curve of her lips was as perfect as a crescent moon. "You think you can just leave now?"
With that, she dragged it forward by the collar.
She saw the ground littered with unconscious actors and crew members, along with a few pale-faced Little Ghosts who were now staring blankly at Su Nian.
Su Nian let out a derisive laugh and violently threw the Evil Ghost into the center. "You loved art when you were alive, and you’re still playing these games after death. Fine. Today, you can dedicate yourself to *my* art!"
"You see, I absolutely love the screams of an Evil Ghost. They’re so thrilling, so stimulating. Let’s see if you’re up to the task today."
As she spoke, Su Nian took out her hemp rope. She bound the ghost’s head and feet, then tied them together behind its back, forcing its stomach to the ground. Its body was bent into a bizarre circle, torso arched high off the floor.
The slightest movement of its feet would yank on its neck. But even that, fatally, was not enough for her.
Su Nian slapped a Fire Talisman onto the ghost. Raging flames instantly erupted, but the Evil Ghost was bound so tightly it couldn’t even struggle to escape.
"Don’t worry. This rope is custom-made. You’re not getting away!"
The Evil Ghost had already been beaten senseless by Su Nian. Now, tied up in such a grotesque position, it was in unending agony.
Flames licked up around it, the sizzling and searing heat like a personal taste of the torments of Hell.
The Little Ghosts who had been watching silently felt their scalps crawl. ’Isn’t she more terrifying than a ghost!?’
They had always been terrified of the Evil Ghost and did whatever it commanded. But seeing Su Nian’s current homicidal frenzy...
...they made a silent comparison and realized that defying her was far more terrifying than facing the Evil Ghost. Utterly cowed, they prepared to slip away quietly.
Su Nian’s lips twisted into a perverse smile. "Why does it stink so much? I hope it doesn’t ruin the flavor."
’Ruin the... what?’
The ghosts who heard this felt a profound terror as the implication sank in.
They ran even faster, terrified that Su Nian would catch them.
’Is she some kind of monster who practices forbidden arts and eats ghosts?!’
’We’re doomed!’
Just then, with a cold laugh, Su Nian grabbed one of the ghosts. With a light flick of her finger, she sent its head flying.
As if casually picking at her nails, Su Nian called out to the fleeing ghosts, "Flick, flick, flick... there goes a little head. Don’t you worry, I’ll get to all of you soon enough!"
The terrified Little Ghosts instinctively took a step back. The ghost energy in this forest had grown denser over the years; anyone who died here invariably became a ghost.
They had all been ordinary people in life, so they remained timid and submissive even as ghosts. That changed when the artist ghost arrived. He was ambitious, though his ambition was simply to create a piece of art.
Meanwhile, the forest itself, having absorbed so much resentment and ghost energy over time, was beginning to develop its own consciousness.
Their cowering infuriated Su Nian, so she flicked her finger again.
It was a light, deft motion, but another head tumbled to the ground.
[Am I the only one who thinks the streamer is the real villain here?]
[One flick, one head... You sure this isn’t just special effects?]
[I’ve never seen ghosts get bullied this hard. They ran into someone even spookier than them!]
Su Nian walked to the center of the woods, where an ancient, massive tree stood. Its roots were a gnarled, overlapping mess, and its branches were almost bare, looking dry and shriveled.
It looked to be on the verge of death. Trees have life, after all. They can’t live forever. Once their time is up, they naturally wither.
Yet this tree, despite its age, still pulsed with vitality. Surrounded as it was by thick ghost energy, it was difficult to discern the true situation.
Su Nian walked up to the great tree and lashed out with a kick.
The trunk was as ancient as it appeared; it splintered and cracked open from that single kick.
Su Nian even heard what sounded like a pained wail.
After kicking it again, she discovered a person curled up inside the massive trunk!
[What is that position? That’s way too freaky!]
[Did you guys not notice? That thing seems to have a black aura all over it.]
[Seeing this, I gotta say, the streamer is incredibly brave. She took on so many ghosts all by herself.]
The person was curled up in a fetal position, as if inside a mother’s womb. He seemed to be treating the great tree as his mother, drawing nourishment from it.
Yet despite the huge commotion Su Nian was making, he hadn’t stirred at all.
"Someone from the Deceit Night Altar?"
A smile touched Su Nian’s lips. As she looked at the person curled inside the trunk, she immediately sensed that he shared the same aura as the ghosts she had just dealt with.
It all made sense now. They had placed a person with a special constitution inside this malevolent tree, allowing him to inherit its Dark Aura and its ability to absorb ghost energy.
And by doing so, they could control this entire Ghost Forest. ’Such a perfect plan couldn’t possibly exist in this world,’ she thought sarcastically.
Su Nian held two talismans between her fingers—a Fire Talisman and a Thunder Talisman. She flung them directly into the hollow trunk, plastering them onto the man’s body.
A SIZZLING sound erupted, accompanied by a strange, foul stench. As Su Nian walked on, she tossed Yellow Talisman Paper in various spots, and each one quickly burst into fierce flames.
The light from the flames brightened the sky for a moment, dispelling much of the gloom that had filled the forest upon entry.
The power of Su Nian’s talisman paper was, of course, immense. The papers she had scattered about burned for a good while, and as their ashes drifted through the air, they gave off no sense of eeriness.
Instead, the forest only seemed to become lighter and brighter.
Su Nian strode onward. Lina was long unconscious, her phone lying discarded to the side.
Su Nian took out a bundle of Soul Summoning Incense. White, fragrant smoke billowed out, drifting to fill the entire forest.
The scene itself was undeniably bizarre: a beautiful young woman burning incense in the middle of the night, surrounded by the prone bodies of unconscious people.
[The streamer is starting to save Lina now!]
[There are so many celebrities and actors! Hey, is that the director too?!]
[Of course he is! He’s not a ghost. The one before was definitely a ghost in disguise. Now that the streamer’s dealt with it, that ghost is probably going to be traumatized forever.]
After a few minutes, the people finally began to wake up, one after another.
Su Nian paid them no mind, simply sitting down on the spot. She needed to purify these lingering spirits immediately. ’I did such a good deed today. This has to earn me a lot of merit, right?’
A strange spell flowed from Su Nian’s lips.
"Summon gods, dispatch generals, subdue the five arms of war. Expel all evil, for time waits for no one..."
