Master Bai! This Celestial Fox Spirit Is Asking For Divorce-Chapter 390: Episode 41.10 Bai Tingfeng’s Third Surprise!
After the bell rang, signaling the end of class, Bai Tingfeng and Shen Yuan couldn’t stop their instincts to ask Teacher Chen about Yanyan’s performance in school.
It must be natural among parents, as Shen Yuan saw parents lining up near the faculty room, having the same intention as them.
But still, they lined up with the others, and they are fortunate enough to have a class adviser who can clone themselves.
The time that Shen Yuan and Bai Tingfeng had to line up was shorter compared to other classes.
"Yanyan is one of the students I genuinely enjoy teaching. He’s smart, he loves to participate, and he knows how to behave during class discussions. In fact, he is the kid who is easiest to handle in class," Teacher Chen willingly answered the S-class couple’s question.
Everything she said was so positive that Shen Yuan initially suspected she was just being polite. However, that suspicion disappeared quickly once he heard the follow-up.
"The only concern that I have is that I am actually competing with him for his classmates’ attention."
"Excuse me?" Shen Yuan and Bai Tingfeng looked at their innocent son at the same time. That issue... is kind of unique, isn’t it?
"His classmates always flock around him. Like when he was borrowing crayons from Xiaolun, five to six of his classmates would offer theirs, and before I knew it, half of the class were looking in his direction. I am already forgotten."
Shen Yuan and Bai Tingfeng are both speechless. Is Yanyan that popular?!
They can’t think of a proper way to address that concern.
The S-class couple expressed their thanks to Teacher Chen and left, dazed.
"My classmates are great. They liked me a lot."
"It’s good that you bond well with your classmates, son..." Bai Tingfeng trailed off.
They proceeded to their car in total silence. Well, that is, until Shen Yuan realized something.
"Wait, son. Why are you borrowing crayons? Your Papa and I bought a complete set." Shen Yuan asked the five-year-old.
Yanyan pouted, "My blue crayon is not as vibrant as Xiaolun’s. I like his crayon more than mine."
Shen Yuan and Bai Tingfeng exchanged looks.
"Then, we will buy the same brand of crayon for you." Shen Yuan decided. "Let’s head to the mall and check if we can buy there."
Shen Yuan leaned forward for him and Yanyan to see eye to eye. "We can’t let you continue borrowing crayons, or you will lead your classroom to chaos."
Yanyan innocently blinked his beady eyes. "Okay." 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚
The family of three boarded the car.
"Drive us to KV Mall." Shen Yuan told their today’s driver.
But to his surprise, Bai Tingfeng interjected. "Drive us to that place."
Shen Yuan and Yanyan are puzzled by the ambiguous instruction.
"Did you forget that I have a surprise for you?" Bai Tingfeng told Shen Yuan and Yanyan.
"Ahhh," Of course, Shen Yuan could still remember.
Meanwhile, Yanyan lit up like Christmas lights when he heard the word surprise. "Really, Papa?!"
"Yes!" Bai Tingfeng was slightly high-pitched from the excitement. "Your teacher said that you’ve been a good student. Children who do well in school deserve gifts and surprises."
Yanyan bounced on his seat. "Yey! Yey!"
"Yanyan, calm down." Shen Yuan immediately pulled the boy down. He looked at his husband with concern. "Where are you taking us this time? Sorry if my tone is worried, but as far as I can remember, every time you take us to a place, something major always happens. Your surprise often comes with bad luck."
"What?!" Bai Tingfeng was caught off guard at first, but he immediately defended himself. "That’s not true!"
"It’s totally true," Shen Yuan said, firm. "Remember when you brought us to Rong Shan villa? That is your first surprise, and it ended with us confronting that corpse-hugging villain bi—" he abruptly paused, consciously looking at his son. "You know who it is. I will not elaborate more."
"Let’s move on to your second surprise, then." Shen Yuan continued. His expression becomes more uptight as he goes on. "It’s the most recent one. The failure of the massage session that you booked! Going through the details gives me a toothache, so I will leave it to you to think why I considered it bad luck."
Bai Tingfeng was silent. He was unable to refute.
"I think I know why it is bad luck!" Yanyan, the good student, raised his hand. "It’s because Grandpa Shen—"
Bai Tingfeng quickly caught the boy’s lips before he even spat something offensive against his own grandfather.
While it is true that Shen Zhaohui was not a delight to be around, it is still not good to hear his own grandson bad-mouthing about him, even if it is due to innocent speculation.
"Never let other people hear the words you are about to say, Yanyan. That is bad. Your Grandpa Shen will be angry at you once he hears it." Bai Tingfeng reminded his son.
The little boy acted like he heard the boogeyman coming after him. The boy noted his head like a pecking duckling, and he sat on his seat, totally unmoving.
Seeing this made Shen Yuan and Bai Tingfeng amused.
But the latter didn’t forget to give his reassurance to his husband.
"Yuan, you can rest easy because this surprise will not be another tragedy. I’ve been preparing for this for a week now. I will make sure that you and Yanyan will have a great time."
Bai Tingfeng sounds like he really worked hard this time. This made Shen Yuan rethink his opinion. Maybe they will genuinely enjoy the surprise this time.
"Okay... I will hold off my preconception that you have a protagonist’s curse."
Shen Yuan is still painfully aware that his husband was a male lead in a dog-blood BL manhua. Thus, he still decided to keep an eye out in case some trouble arises.
"What’s a protagonist’s curse, Daddy?" Yanyan asked.
"That’s just my obnoxious way of saying that your Papa tends to attract trouble wherever he goes. Just like the heroes in dramas."
"Ohhh..."
’Just like Daddy...’ Yanyan thought.
Shen Yuan noticed that Yanyan had something to say, but before he could ask, the boy already whipped his head towards the window.
"Wow!" The little boy exclaimed.
Shen Yuan looked curiously outside, and he was also amazed.
Their car made a soft stop. The family of three exited the car one by one.
"This is your surprise?" Shen Yuan’s eyes were shining as he took in the vast amusement park stretching before him—towering rides frozen mid-curve, brightly painted stalls standing immaculate, and a grand entrance plaza so quiet it almost felt sacred.
The dizzying crowds that are almost synonymous with amusement park is gone. Only Shen Yuan and his little family are the guests.
For a heartbeat, Shen Yuan simply stared, his joy slowly giving way to disbelief.
"How much did you spend to reserve this entire amusement park?"
It would be impossible to clear the crowd of such a major amusement park just for an afternoon. Bai Tingfeng should have reserved it for an entire day!
"Just a few tens of millions. Not a big deal." Bai Tingfeng shrugged his shoulders like it was some pocket money.
Shen Yuan suppressed the destitute side of his consciousness, afraid that he would just grab his husband’s hair. "You know that we can always come to amusement parks without unnecessarily spending millions, right?"
Bai Tingfeng just touched his side-swept hair, looking annoyingly handsome. "I know that. However, how are we supposed to have fun when we spend the majority of our stay here lining up for the rides?"
Shen Yuan choked. Right. That is the ugly side of visiting popular amusement parks. If they visit this park on regular days, even for the entire day, Shen Yuan thinks that they will only get to try a handful of attractions and rides.
Plus, it will be troublesome since both he and Bai Tingfeng are moderately famous. They would need to use magic or a practical disguise to avoid getting mobbed.
That would be a stressful experience. Goodbye, fun day.
Seeing Shen Yuan ease up and smiling, Bai Tingfeng finally rested easy.
He doesn’t mind spending millions in one day if that will make his husband and son smile brightly.
"Then does this mean that Yanyan can try all the rides here?" Yanyan asked, his eyes twinkling like stars.
"Yanyan can try any ride as long as the height limit permits," Shen Yuan teasingly messed up his son’s hair. "Extreme rides are strict about height limits, so you can expect that you will not be riding them today."
"That’s a bummer..." Yanyan murmured while pouting. Among the rides that his eyes could reach, the ones that he wants to try are the tall ones. He saw vloggers on the internet having fun in those extreme rides. "I want to know what it feels like to fall from great heights..."
"That’s too brave of you to say." Suddenly, a familiar voice sounded from behind them.
Shen Yuan and Yanyan looked around and were pleasantly surprised when they saw Rong Suyin, Bai Weisheng and Yangyang, the giant pet panda, walking towards them.
"Dada! Grandpa! Yangyang!" Yanyan excitedly ran towards them and then gave each of them a tight hug.
Today was a very special day. The entire Bai family is out to have fun together.
’Guess nothing will go wrong with Bai Tingfeng’s third surprise.’ The celestial fox spirit told himself.
