Master Bai! This Celestial Fox Spirit Is Asking For Divorce-Chapter 382: Episode 41.2 Yanyan, The Shit-Stirrer!
Yanyan came home extra happy today. Not only were his beloved grandparents waiting, but his Papa and Daddy had arrived earlier than expected.
That meant one thing: a complete family dinner tonight!
"Hm, hu, hmm. Hu, hu, hmm—"
Still humming his invented tune, Yanyan hopped out of the car and shot toward the house like a fired-up firecracker. His poor grandparents—who’d gone all the way out to pick up their cherished grandson—were completely caught off guard.
"Yanyan!"
"Papa! Daddy! I’m home!" he announced at full volume the moment he burst into the foyer.
"Yanyan! Hold on—don’t shout!" Rong Suyin hurried after him, and Bai Weisheng followed, helplessly amused. "I heard your Daddy is resting."
"Daddy is sleeping?" Yanyan blinked up at her, eyes wide and innocent. "But it’s still early!"
Before either grandparent could answer, someone else did.
"Your Daddy just wrapped up a difficult job," a firm, deep voice said from the top of the staircase—carrying a weight even a five-year-old could pick up. "He needs his rest."
Yanyan spun around dramatically like a tiny actor on a drama set. His already expressive face lit up when he saw the owner of the voice, infecting people with warm delight.
What good genes! Rong Suyin nearly teared up, full of pride. Moments like this are exactly why I never regretted choosing Shen Yuan as my son-in-law...
"Papa!"
Yanyan bolted up the stairs like a hyperactive rocket.
Fortunately, Bai Tingfeng stepped forward at the perfect moment, catching the boy with practised ease and lifting him into his arms. A low laugh rumbled from him as Yanyan wrapped his arms around his neck like a koala.
"You missed me this much?" Bai Tingfeng teased.
"Hehe." Yanyan only giggled. "Is Daddy okay, Papa?"
"Pfft!"
How could the adults not understand that mischievous answer? Even usually-serious Bai Weisheng couldn’t help but snicker.
"This Daddy’s boy." Bai Tingfeng sighed exaggeratedly, though a smile tugged at his lips. "Your Daddy just needs some rest. But I promise he’ll be up before dinnertime."
"Really?!" Yanyan’s eyes lit up like Christmas lights. "Yes!"
The adults burst into soft laughter at his pure excitement.
"You really look forward to dinner, hmm?" Rong Suyin asked, her voice sweet with affection. "But it’s still early. Why don’t you change into something comfy? Come, let Dada help you."
She reached out to take him from Bai Tingfeng—but to everyone’s surprise, Yanyan immediately squirmed down.
"No, Dada! I can do it myself. I’m a big boy now!" he declared, before sprinting to his room.
Rong Suyin could only watch him disappear, a soft, nostalgic smile settling on his face. "Look at that... It feels like yesterday he was waddling around with a feeding bottle in his hand."
"He still waddles," Bai Tingfeng muttered playfully. "Short legs..."
Smack!
Rong Suyin hit the back of his head. "Your legs were even shorter when you were his age! Hmp!"
He then ascended the stairs with a huff. His destination, both Bai Weisheng and Bai Tingfeng could guess.
Yanyan’s room.
Once the two naturally lively members of the Bai family are gone, the two most taciturn members are left in total silence.
It wouldn’t be much of an exaggeration to say that even the action of flipping pages would be louder compared to the silence between the two.
"I heard about what happened in Diyu..."
Bai Weisheng spoke softly, as though testing the weight of the question. "Are you... alright?"
Bai Tingfeng stiffened, caught off guard, but quickly composed himself.
"I think I am," he answered after a moment of quiet reflection.
Honestly, he had expected something—disgust, guilt, even a faint unease—after the adrenaline of revenge faded. It was his first time torturing someone so brutally. People always said that remorse eventually seeped in.
But hours had passed.
From the interrogation room, to the Association headquarters, to carrying Shen Yuan home...
Still nothing.
No guilt.
No regret.
The realization stirred something cold inside him.
"Dad..." he said slowly, "does it make me a bad person if I don’t feel guilty for scalping a terrorist?"
Bai Weisheng blinked, genuinely taken aback.
"What? Of course not."
He shook his head, firm but calm.
"That man was a murderer who didn’t hesitate to target innocent people—including your own family. You don’t need to feel bad for defending your husband and son. Protecting the people you love doesn’t make you cruel, son."
Something in Bai Tingfeng’s chest loosened.
Finally, he laughed, then smiled. "I didn’t realize that I had a problem until you asked me that question, Father. Thank you."
Bai Weisheng just tapped Bai Tingfeng’s shoulder— the one that ended with a light, trusting squeeze.
Bai Weisheng smiled, "It was nothing. I just thought that you must be silently wailing deep inside since you have always been a coward when it comes to hurting other people."
"Excuse me?" Bai Tingfeng stared at his alpha father in utter disbelief. Is his father really teasing him?!
He can’t deny it because before he managed to control his blood curse, he was conscientious about hurting other people for fear of triggering his sadistic beastly side.
But now, things are different!
He is now free!
"Ah, I suddenly feel hungry. I will go grab some snacks."
And with that, Bai Weisheng excused himself while rubbing his flat stomach. He did it so smoothly that Bai Tingfeng didn’t even have a chance to stop him.
"Is this my karma for making fun of Yanyan’s short legs?" Bai Tingfeng wondered aloud.
He couldn’t shake the feeling that it might be... yet he also couldn’t help noticing something else:
Maybe it was a Bai family tradition.
After all, Bai fathers seemed to really enjoy teasing their sons.

Shen Yuan woke up just in time for dinner.
"Yuan!" Rong Suyin’s bright, high-pitched greeting rang out the moment he came downstairs.
Still half-asleep, Shen Yuan felt the sound crash into his drowsy brain like clanging cymbals. He jolted on instinct—looking every bit the startled idiot—earning soft smiles from everyone at the table.
Well. That’s one way to make an entrance.
He laughed at himself and slid into his usual seat.
"Dad, Father," he greeted his in-laws warmly. Then he turned to Yanyan, who was sitting beside him, staring up with an eager, sparkling grin. Shen Yuan let out a low chuckle and leaned in to kiss his son on the cheek.
"You woke up just in time, Daddy!" Yanyan beamed, closing his eyes with a smile so bright it nearly blinded his father, Bai Tingfeng.
"Did you all wait long?" Shen Yuan asked, palms raised in mock surrender. "Sorry—I slept through the first alarm that a certain someone set for me. Not deliberate. I swear."
As he spoke, he tilted his chin up, meeting the gaze of his husband, who had been watching him nonstop since he walked in.
Trying to see if I’m mad at you, Bai Tingfeng?
The celestial fox snickered inwardly and shot him a smug, sarcastic smirk. Still hung up on knocking me out against my will, are we?
Sure enough, Bai Tingfeng read him perfectly. His thin lips pushed into a tiny pout, and he looked down like a scolded puppy.
Rong Suyin and Bai Weisheng witnessed this silent exchange. They stared, stunned.
That cannot be my son, Rong Suyin screeched internally.
"Ahem." Bai Weisheng cleared his throat sharply. A chill crawled up his spine. He had never realized until now how uncomfortable it was to witness his own child flirting. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚
"Come on. Let’s eat," he said firmly.
Thankfully, the reminder snapped the younger couple out of their... intense staring match.
After that spicy opening, the atmosphere settled into something warm and lively. Conversation flowed easily around the table.
"No way! Dad made this choco mug cake?!" Shen Yuan was, of course, the loudest voice.
"Yes, Daddy! Dada did it!" Yanyan chimed in proudly. "It was so good!"
Rong Suyin flushed a little, clearly pleased by the praise—but as the third most talkative person at the table, he certainly didn’t run out of words.
"That’s because I had plenty of practice," he explained. "Back when I was training as an idol, we weren’t allowed to buy sweets. So instead of suffering in silence, I secretly bought ingredients and taught myself to make desserts."
"Wow! So you’re a self-taught sweets expert!"
"Expert? No way! If anyone here is an expert, it’s Tingfeng! His cakes always hit the perfect level of sweetness. Guess being a rule-stickler makes him great at following recipes."
Baking is easy because everything about it is measured. Following the recipe word for word is likely to be helpful for people like Bai Tingfeng, who have poor cooking skills.
At the mention of his husband’s talents, Shen Yuan turned sharply toward him.
"You know how to make desserts? Since when? Why do I not know this?"
"Oh! Oh! I know the reason, Daddy!" Yanyan bounced on his seat. "It’s because you never let Papa set foot in the kitchen!"
"Yanyan!" Bai Tingfeng called his son authoritatively—or at least, he tried to sound that way. A pretty pink blush covers the tips of his ears.
Yanyan only giggled. The boy knows his father is not really mad at him.
"But he could have offered it himself. I wouldn’t mind for sure." Shen Yuan said with a playful smile lingering on his lips. "But I guess your Papa will no longer do it for me."
Yanyan slapped his thigh, acting like an indignant old man. "How can that be? Just ask Papa, Daddy! He loves you so much! He will do everything you ask. Didn’t you know that Papa taught the bad guy who bullied us a lesson?! Papa will do everything for you, Daddy! Even beating people up!"
"What?!" Shen Yuan dropped his spoon and mug cake upon hearing the news. Bai Tingfeng beat Lee Jinhyuk?! When?
What did he miss while asleep?
He stared at Bai Tingfeng intensely, and the latter could only massage his forehead.
"This little shit-stirrer..." The alpha uttered under his breath as he tried to think hard about how he would explain his action to his husband.
