Marvel : I'm in Westview Town-Chapter 60 - : The Familiar Back Under The Moonlight
Chapter 60 - 60 : The Familiar Back Under The Moonlight
West District of Westview Town
As the night stretched into the early morning, the town fell into a deep silence. The cold streets were empty, and the lights of the roadside shops were nearly turned off.
Only one tavern sign remained illuminated, its colorful lights reflecting off the water-stained road surface, creating sparkling waves.
Inside the tavern.
"You didn't take back the Darkhold?" Master Sterling listened attentively as Stephen told him about Finn and Wanda's use of the Darkhold. His expression was grave.
In the minds of the older generation of sorcerers, anyone who practiced black magic was part of a cult, committing all sorts of dark deeds.
"Master Sterling, it's 2025. As long as black magic doesn't have any backlash effects, the morality of the practitioner is irrelevant," Stephen replied, taking a sip from his glass, then setting it down, saying nothing more.
Others might not know it, but as a direct disciple of the Ancient One, Stephen knew that, to outsiders, he was the Sorcerer Supreme, standing above all.
In reality, however, he also practiced black magic, absorbing power from the realm of Mephisto.
The Ancient One had not fallen due to this; in fact, she used dark magic to fight against Mephisto's dimensional invasion.
It was from then that Stephen realized that as long as one practiced black magic without doing evil, it wasn't wrong to pursue it day and night.
"But I personally feel that..." Master Sterling stroked his goatee, still disturbed.
"Sterling, he's already learned most of it. The content is likely engraved in his mind. Even if we took the Darkhold back, it wouldn't change much," Wang interjected before Sterling could continue.
Sterling froze, his hand still stroking his goatee, his eyes widening in disbelief. "What?! He learned most of it already? Didn't you say he just acquired it yesterday?"
"Well, I haven't personally read the Darkhold, but I don't think its contents are that simple," Wang responded, his face still reflecting his amazement.
"He's learned almost everything?!" Sterling paced nervously in front of the bar.
He then pointed at the two, his beard rising with his anger, "You two! You've made me so mad!"
"Master Sterling, this is... " Stephen, still sipping his drink, blinked in surprise. This was the first time he had ever seen Sterling so furious. He hadn't expected the old man to be so resistant to black magic.
Wang coughed a few times, trying to explain, "We could—"
"Shut up, you!" Sterling cut him off. "Such talent! You should have brought him to Kamar-Taj! I would have taught him, and he would have become one of the greatest magicians, perhaps even the next Sorcerer Supreme."
Sterling gritted his teeth, his hands shaking with frustration.
"???" Stephen and Wang froze in disbelief. It turned out that Sterling wasn't angry about the use of black magic at all—he was upset that they hadn't brought the talented Finn to Kamar-Taj!
What a shameless, double-standard old man!
"Finn doesn't want to go to Kamar-Taj," Stephen replied, shaking his head. "Not everyone wants to live the monk's life."
"But such talent..." Sterling sighed deeply, his frustration and admiration evident.
Bang!
As the three continued their discussion, a loud noise came from the second floor, shaking the ceiling and causing dust to fall.
"What?"
"What happened?" Wang shouted, slamming his hand on the table and standing up.
"Sorcerer Supreme, the apostle has escaped!" A panicked sorcerer rushed downstairs, stumbling.
"Damn it, Stephen, your binding magic can't even trap an apostle!" Wang yelled as he opened a portal, looking toward the second floor to find it empty, his irritation growing.
"We should bring him back to Kamar-Taj first," Stephen muttered, feeling the heat rise on his face. He had already had a rough day—first, a backlash from Finn's spiritual world, and now an apostle had escaped due to his mistake.
"Stop talking, let's chase after him!" Master Sterling shouted, casting spells with both hands. A golden light flew from his fingertips, following the scent of the apostle as it sank into the dark streets.
The group wasted no time and followed the golden light.
If the apostle had truly escaped, catching him later would be a near-impossible task.
At the same time, in a dark, damp street, a cloud of black mist suddenly appeared at the corner. Within moments, the mist condensed into a human form—an apostle of Mephisto named Carat, who had just fled the tavern.
"Hahaha, some Kamar-Taj jokers think they can catch me," Carat laughed as he glanced around, his expression mocking.
"Goodbye, fools," he said, his smile fading as he glanced toward the eastern town. His tone turned cold and filled with hostility.
"Boy, when I return, I will make sure your witches become sacrifices to Mephisto."
He had just learned from Doctor Strange that Finn also had a dark presence, which excited him. No dark magician could resist the power of the Darkhold.
And with the Darkhold, combined with Chaos Magic, Carat knew he could become unstoppable.
"No need to wait, we can settle this now."
At that moment, an ominous shadow appeared behind him without warning.
The temperature around Carat dropped, and the air seemed to freeze instantly.
His body froze in place as a chilling presence crept from his feet to his head.
He glanced behind him. "It's you!" he said, recognizing the figure.
"We have unfinished business," Finn said coldly, stepping into view. He had already removed his mask, his deep eyes glowing with an icy intensity—like the very embodiment of Hell itself.
"Damn it..." Carat muttered, clenching his fists as a dark aura enveloped him.
But the next moment, Finn moved with blinding speed, transforming into an afterimage as he lunged at Carat.
In an instant, his fist connected with Carat's chest.
Boom!
The force of the punch created a cyclone that rattled the windows on both sides of the narrow street. Some windows shattered.
Carat's vision blurred as he was sent flying. His body crashed against a wall, causing spider-like cracks to spread across the structure.
Crash!
The wall shook and groaned as though it might collapse any second.
"Cough, cough..." Carat hacked, blood dripping from the corner of his mouth. His chest bore an unmistakable depression from where Finn's punch had landed.
Despite his attempts, Carat couldn't rise. His bones felt crushed, and his body wouldn't obey him.
Finn approached, kneeling down. He pressed a hand to Carat's head. "Trash, how dare you covet my witch?" Finn's voice was cold, calm, yet utterly chilling.
Carat's pupils dilated in fear as he looked up. "Let me go..."
"I won't kill you," Finn said flatly. "But neither will Kamar-Taj's sorcerers let you live."
Finn tightened his grip, and glowing runes appeared as the pressure on Carat's skull increased.
Creak...
Carat could feel the warmth of his own blood trickling down his forehead.
The pressure continued to grow, squeezing his skull.
Whoosh!
Suddenly, several figures appeared at the entrance of the alley.
It was Stephen and the others, striding toward Finn, their footsteps urgent.
"Sorry, but he's a prisoner of Kamar-Taj," Stephen said loudly, his hands glowing with magic as he prepared to intervene.
"But he's in my hands now," Finn retorted, his mask slipping back into place.
He grabbed Carat by the throat, lifting him effortlessly.
"Like I said, first come, first served."
Wang stepped forward slowly, speaking calmly, "Besides, he's an apostle of Mephisto. If you kill him, you'll bring Mephisto's wrath down upon you."
"I don't mind," Finn replied, his voice indifferent.
However, as he tightened his grip on Carat, an invisible barrier pressed down, resisting him.
"Um?"
Finn frowned, surprised.
The force he exerted was stopped by a mysterious power.
"Um?"
Finn was puzzled. When he saw a subtle scarlet light, the corners of his mouth under the mask couldn't help but curve upward.
He turned his head and looked towards the alley entrance on the right.
Sure enough, a crimson figure was walking towards him, raising one hand, glowing with bright scarlet light.
Instantly, the dim street was illuminated, covering the area with a layer of light red gauze.
"Shadow, let him go."
Wanda's eyes were cold, and her tone was devoid of any emotion.
Those who hurt Finn must be dealt with by her own hands.
"Wanda?"
"Didn't you hand over the apostle Carat to us?" Stephen said, confused as he looked at the witch.
"That's what Finn said, not me," Wanda glanced at him and responded slowly.
"So you'd better listen to your boyfriend. Children who don't obey will be punished."
Upon seeing the witch, Finn's mood softened. His tone became unconsciously lighter as he joked, "Give him to me!"
But Wanda, clearly not in the mood for jokes, rushed toward him.
"If Finn takes a shower, I'll be mad if I don't see him first!" Wanda was already half irritated.
"No." Finn shook his head and tightened his fingers.
*Click!*
The apostle Carat, who was dying in his hand, didn't even have a chance to struggle. His neck suddenly tilted, his frightened eyes losing their light.
He had completely lost breath.
"You..."
Seeing this, Wanda was so angry that she couldn't speak. She swung her right hand, and a burst of scarlet Chaos energy erupted from her, blasting toward Finn. The bright scarlet light illuminated the alley, causing an explosive collision.
"Does She want to Murder her own husband!" Finn exclaimed in shock, dropping the corpse and dodging to the side.
*Boom!!!*
The scarlet power, carrying terrifying energy, hit the corpse on the ground, instantly annihilating it and turning it into dust.
"Really?" Finn looked at the pile of ashes, then glanced in the direction of the witch.
But there was no one at the entrance of the alley.
The next second—*Whoosh!*
A crimson figure suddenly appeared behind him. Wanda had gathered the raging scarlet power in her left hand and swung it toward him with almost no effort.
But the scarlet power vibrated the space!
"Wanda, calm down!" Finn shouted, barely managing to react. His body turned into a black aura, disintegrating as he collapsed, reforming into a human shape not far from the witch.
*Bang!*
Wanda punched nothing, her fist smashing into the wall. Bricks fell off one after another, smashing into pieces.
There was a cloud of dust.
On the opposite side of the alley, the Kamar-Taj trio, who had been standing by watching the battle, quickly took a few steps back to avoid being affected.
"Is this Chaos Magic?" Grand Sorcerer Sterling felt the light shining on his face, his pupils trembling slightly.
"That's right. She has Chaos magic inside her," Stephen nodded.
"It seems that the man in black is in trouble," Sterling muttered, his voice reflecting some amusement.
"I haven't seen this person before, but it seems like he's a new superhero who's gotten popular recently."
Stephen looked at the masked man in black and finally recognized him. "Isn't he the one who's become popular these days? The one everyone's been talking about?"
"Interesting. Shadow seems to be a magician too. Should we try to persuade them to stop fighting?" Wang asked, watching the unfolding chaos.
"No, Wang. Let it play out," Stephen said, his voice calm.
Stephen knew that Wanda was only venting her frustration and wouldn't do anything too extreme. While her attacks were powerful, she wasn't making any fatal moves, and her speed had slowed, giving the Black Shadow a chance to react.
*Boom!!!*
At that moment, Wanda spread her hands, palms continuously gathering the scarlet light. She pulled hard, causing the broken bricks on the ground to split and shoot toward Finn in an overwhelming barrage.
*Chi chi chi chi!!!*

Seeing this, Finn turned into a black aura again, narrowly avoiding the attack. The sharp fragments hit the ground, causing the stone brick floor to become riddled with holes.
"The witch is losing control," Finn noted, realizing Wanda's emotional turmoil. Each of her movements was slightly delayed, a sign that she wasn't entirely focused on the battle.
However, if the fight continued, Wanda would likely escalate things further.
He quickly jumped onto a billboard on the second floor, bathed in moonlight, overlooking the crimson figure in the alley.
"Come down," Wanda called coldly.
"Sorry, we're opponents now," Finn replied, shaking his head. He then waved and shouted, "Wanda, you need to calm down. We'll meet again next time."
"Almost forgot, there's also Doctor Strange and the other one I don't know. Goodbye, everyone."
As he spoke, he turned his back and leapt toward the sky.
But this movement caused Wanda to pause. She had been preparing to pull Finn down with her scarlet power, but now she was stunned.
Her cold eyes softened as she stared at the figure disappearing into the sky. For a moment, she didn't know what to think.
"Wanda, what's the matter?" Stephen, who had approached, asked.
"It's nothing. I'll go back first," Wanda said, her voice quiet.
Without another word, she was surrounded by scarlet light, soaring into the sky and flying eastward.
As she flew, she couldn't help but replay the image of the back she had seen. It was so familiar. In fact, it looked strikingly similar to Finn's back.
"Could it be him?" she thought to herself.
"No... Finn's taking a shower in the bathroom. The Black Shadow's going west, not home."
But then, the thought crept in. Could Finn have snuck out after her departure?
If that were true, why would he hide from her? Was it just to keep his Chaos magic a secret, or was there something else going on?
She shook her head, trying to dismiss the thoughts.
By now, Wanda could see the community apartment in the distance. The top floor was lit, and the bathroom light was on.
"Hurry back and see if you don't know!" Wanda muttered, a mix of emotions swirling inside her.
The moment she landed back in the apartment, she was filled with urgency. She entered the living room, only to find it empty. The bathroom door was still closed.
The sound of the clock ticking was the only noise she could hear.
"Finn?" she called softly.
No response.
Her heart clenched as she walked toward the bathroom door. She placed her hand on the handle and tried to turn it.
*Click!*
The door opened.
But there was still no response.
