Martial Peak - Rise Of The Human Emperor-Chapter 92-Yin-Yang Joyous Unification Art
Chapter 92 - 92-Yin-Yang Joyous Unification Art
Above the clouds, in front of a magnificent palace, Yang Kai stood watching the gigantic doors slowly open as if they had been expecting him.
He smiled slightly and stepped forward.
After walking for a while through the vast, silent space, he saw something unusual—a massive ball of red and white energy floating mid-air, several meters above the ground. The two colors swirled around each other in perfect sync.
Yang Kai narrowed his eyes.
Soon, he realized these weren't just energies, but living beings—two majestic creatures. The dragon and phoenix. The same ones he had seen flying outside the Heaven's Cave Inheritance.
Just as he was absorbing the sight, his gaze shifted—and caught a figure clad in white standing nearby.
His eyes widened.

"Su Yan?" he called out instinctively.
The figure turned. Her beautiful eyes flickered in surprise before softening.
"It's you?" Su Yan asked, visibly relaxing.
Yang Kai smiled warmly. A wave of joy passed through him at the sight of his Senior Sister. He moved closer, standing straight and confident beside her.
"Sit down and speak to me," Su Yan said, gesturing.
Yang Kai nodded and sat cross-legged, facing her. When he chose to sit rather close, Su Yan's expression changed briefly, but she quickly composed herself.
Then, she smiled.
It was a soft, refreshing smile—like a breeze brushing through a quiet, barren land; like spring bringing life to a frozen world. In that moment, Su Yan looked ethereal. A beauty that could topple kingdoms and captivate hearts.
Even Yang Kai found himself lost in the moment, simply watching her.
Su Yan noticed his gaze and quickly turned her eyes away, a slight pink touching her cheeks.
"I don't know why," Yang Kai said honestly, "but I find your smile extremely enchanting."
"We're not that familiar with each other," Su Yan replied, trying to keep her expression calm, though her blush deepened.
"In the future, we will be," Yang Kai said casually, even daring to tease the woman countless disciples worshipped like a goddess.
Not wanting the conversation to go further in that direction, Su Yan quickly changed the subject. "I'll tell you what I've gathered about this place. If you find my conclusion off, feel free to correct me."
"Mm," Yang Kai nodded.
Su Yan composed herself, then spoke clearly, "This inheritance... it wasn't meant for just one person. It was designed for two. The 10,000 steps—those alternating cold and hot energies—seem to work in harmony, not opposition. That alone proves it."
"Before you came, I wasn't sure," Su Yan began, her gaze slowly lifting to the swirling mass of energy above. "But now, I'm certain. Do you see that?"
Yang Kai looked up and nodded silently.
"I've been trying to absorb its energy," Su Yan continued, her voice calm but firm, "but no matter how I tried, I couldn't make any progress. It's like it rejects me. Or maybe... it needs more than just me. I think it requires both of us. Together. Only then will it submit and grant its Inheritance."
Her tone was straightforward—no room for illusion or sugarcoating. This was a matter of principle, not fantasy.
Yang Kai was quiet for a moment, then asked, "So... what do you intend to do?"
Both of them knew this wasn't a decision one could make alone. The Inheritance didn't just ask for strength—it demanded cooperation. A partnership. Perhaps even a deeper bond.
And that was where the hesitation began.
Yang Kai stared at the glowing energy above, then turned his gaze back to Su Yan. He felt fortunate that it was her standing here with him. Despite her cold appearance, he had seen her kindness. The way she protected others. The way she had once risked herself for someone undeserving.
He was willing. But only if she was.
If Su Yan wasn't comfortable with this—if she couldn't accept sharing the path of cultivation so closely with him—then Yang Kai would rather give it up. A forced bond meant nothing.
Su Yan, on the other hand, was caught in her own whirlwind of emotions. She had always held herself at a distance from others, her cultivation path lonely by choice. Forming such a deep connection with someone—not just physically, but spiritually—felt intrusive.
She didn't know what the future would look like if she took this step with Yang Kai. Would they become partners in cultivation alone? Or would this bond pull them into something more?
She remembered the moment he caught her—his arms wrapped around her , the way he shielded her with his body. That image stuck with her, warmed something inside her.
Her eyes softened.
Finally, after a long silence, Su Yan looked at Yang Kai carefully, her expression unreadable.
"If I were to decline," she said slowly, "simply because I didn't want to be bound by something artificial, something that pushes two strangers together—would you be disappointed?"
Yang Kai paused, then nodded. "I would."
His answer wasn't forced or dramatic. Just honest.
Su Yan's eyes dimmed, the weight of her choice settling in.
"But," Yang Kai added, "I'll still respect your decision. You have the right to choose. And so do I. If this path requires us to walk together, then I want it to be for the right reasons—not just because we're forced to by some ancient mechanism."
He stood up, dusting off his robes.
"If you don't want to continue... then let's leave it behind."
Yang Kai turned around, his steps slow but steady, his expression calm—though deep inside, a flicker of disappointment lingered.
Behind him, Su Yan remained seated, her fingers curling lightly into her sleeves. Her heart beat faster, and for the first time in years, she felt the subtle pain of a choice that wasn't so clear.
Just as both Yang Kai and Su Yan seemed to come to a mutual understanding—to leave the Inheritance untouched if it demanded a forced bond—the hall around them trembled.
Boom!
A thunderous sound echoed across the palace, shaking the ground beneath them. Both Yang Kai and Su Yan startled.
Then it happened.
A sudden influx of energy burst into the chamber—wild, unrestrained, and layered with extremes. Waves of scorching heat and piercing cold clashed violently in the air. The yin and yang energies surged like a flood, spiraling uncontrollably.
The swirling ball of red and white energy above them dropped with frightening speed, landing squarely between the two.
The Dragon and Phoenix that had once hovered silently now trembled, their forms becoming increasingly clear. Their glowing outlines flashed rapidly as the red and white energies collided, creating a blinding beam of light that split the sky overhead.
Then—almost in sync—the Dragon roared, and the Phoenix cried.
Boom!
The ball of energy exploded into two distinct shapes—one engulfed in blazing fire, the other wrapped in bone-chilling frost.
Before either of them could react, the creatures launched forward.
The Fire Dragon shot into Yang Kai, and the Ice Phoenix rushed into Su Yan.
Both of them collapsed to their knees, shuddering as intense pain shot through their bodies. The energies invaded without permission, like lightning threading into their very cores.
Yang Kai felt his meridians expand as if burning from within. The Fire Dragon's power coursed through him, flooding him with pure Yang energy. His body trembled, and at the same time, vivid memories and knowledge that weren't his own entered his mind.
He could feel the teachings—ancient, powerful, and deeply connected to the essence of cultivation.
Instinctively, he tried to circulate his True Yang Secret Art, hoping to refine the raw energy into Yang Liquid. But to his surprise, it didn't work. The energy refused to obey, as if the Fire Dragon's will itself resisted confinement.
Then, unexpectedly, his senses sharpened—his hearing more acute, his skin more sensitive... and his sense of smell intensified.
Su Yan's scent hit him like a drug—cool, refreshing, yet alluring, with a faint sweetness that tugged at something primal inside him.
His heart pounded. Each breath he took pulled him deeper into her presence, his instincts flaring. A heat pooled in his chest that had nothing to do with cultivation and everything to do with desire.
The Inheritance had responded to their choice—to their decision not to bind themselves by force. And in doing so, it forced the union anyway. But perhaps, not as punishment—more like a correction, as if their very resistance triggered fate to act.
[What is this?] Yang Kai could not help but question. His whole mind seemed to be stuck in confusion after he examined the information he received from the Fire Dragon moments ago. With it, Yang Kai opened his eyes to look at Su Yan, baffled.
When he opened his eyes, he saw that the beautiful Su Yan was pale. Her gentle and graceful body seemed to be freezing as she shivered uncontrollably.
Although cultivating the Ice Heart Secret Art required a cold environment to cultivate, the chill she was experiencing right now far exceeded what she could handle. Yang Kai could also obviously feel the heat within his body quickly exceeding the limits that he could handle too.
Shortly after, Su Yan opened her eyes. Her dazzling pupils seemed to radiate a certain charm to Yang Kai, as her pale cheeks blushed lightly. Her breathing had become somewhat ragged as her gaze seemed to turn into that of a lover.
Right now, Yang Kai understood the feelings they had for each other. It was as though they eternally longed for the power within the other person.
Yang Kai wished to soothe the heat and dryness within himself with the coldness that Su Yan had. Similarly, Su Yan wished to soothe her ice cold body with the heat from Yang Kai. Their desires were not only from their own body but also from the Dragon and the Phoenix. However, it seemed that the desire allowed both of them to maintain their own consciousness, enabling them to resist their urges.
Yang Kai opened his mouth to speak and to lick his lips. His throat was dry as he looked at Su Yan with eyes red with desire. He wanted so very much to quench his thirst.
Su Yan clenched her teeth as her face seemed unwilling to accept the fact of the Inheritance. She was still well aware that this Inheritance can be obtained only with two people. It would force the two of them to have some special connection with each other, but never would she have thought that the Inheritance would turn out to be something like this. Yin-Yang Joyous Unification Art, it was a Cultivation Technique that entered their minds.
Although Su Yan could not verify the rank of this Cultivation Technique, she could tell that it was obviously greater than her Ice Heart Secret Art. The Ice Heart Secret Art was considered a Mystery Rank Cultivation Technique, but it could not handle the cold that the Ice Phoenix instilled in her body. However, the Yin-Yang Joyous Unification Art could.
"Isn't this a Dual Cultivation Technique?" Yang Kai could not help but ask .
"Erm..." Su Yan replied but her answer felt dreamy. The noise that she made, down to the tone she produced all seemed to be perfect, which only made Yang Kai desire her even more.
"Su Yan..." Yang Kai could not help but call out.
Su Yan whole face seemed to be in pain as she silently shook her head.
Yang Kai could not help but sigh. "We can try to transfer some energy within our bodies to each other... without going further."
His voice was hoarse.
His restraint was nothing short of heroic.
Su Yan blinked, stunned. She had expected the worst—after all, they were cornered by the Inheritance, their bodies pushed to the brink. But instead, Yang Kai offered a compromise. A middle path.
She lowered her gaze, her heart aching with mixed emotions. He's suffering... yet he still thinks of me first?
Silently, she bowed her head toward him, not as a cultivator acknowledging a superior, but as a woman showing sincere gratitude. If he had insisted... if he had pressured me even slightly... I'm not sure I would've had the strength to say no.
She swallowed hard, the frost on her lips cracking slightly.
The Fire Dragon within Yang Kai let out a deafening roar inside his consciousness, as if berating him for resisting its will. His vision blurred for a moment, and his body swayed as though on the verge of collapse. His heartbeat thundered like a war drum, each pulse sending molten waves across his meridians. His skin glowed with heat, shimmering as though he were forged anew in fire.
Every instinct screamed at him to move—to take, to cool the storm raging in his blood.
His lips parted, breath ragged, his throat completely parched.
"I can't... I can't hold this much longer..."
Across from him, Su Yan was no better.
The Ice Phoenix within her had settled deep into her core, sending relentless waves of bone-chilling frost through every vein. Her body had stopped trembling—not because she had overcome the cold, but because she was numb. Her limbs were stiff, her face pale as snow, and her lips had taken on a light violet tint.
She looked like she might collapse at any moment.
Yet deep in her eyes... flickered a fragile resolve.
