Martial Arts Worlds-Chapter 299: Kiernan’s Aura
"Mmh~"
Julia hummed while waving her head side to side, making her ponytail sway behind her like a pendulum.
"You're in a good mood."
Dominic said while following her down the long corridor.
They were heading over to the infirmary to check on Julian and how he was doing. Before this, they briefly visited Julia's father, Azer, who was equally in a good mood as her daughter.
"Of course~"
Julia smiled brightly and turned to him with a wink.
"We've reached the semifinals, after all! This is a huge accomplishment for us."
"Yeah…"
Dominic agreed, but there was some sourness in his feelings as well.
While he was over the moon with happiness, he was also feeling slight frustration that he wasn't strong enough to be one of the main fighters.
It wasn't thanks to him that they reached the semifinals. It was mainly Julian's doing, but even Jonathan did his part fairly well.
Ding! Ding!
In his back pocket, his phone continued buzzing with activity as his family, relatives, and even some distant ones kept spamming his phone with congratulation messages.
They were able to brag to their friends that one of Raze kids had reached the semifinals in the nationals.
He was certain that his mother, aunties, and grandparents would be talking about it non-stop to their friends.
While it was nice and all to be a "semi-celebrity", he believed he didn't do anything to receive this kind of attention.
Shortly after, they arrived at the infirmary, and Julia hopped towards one of the doors that read 'reserved for Karuza High', and swung the open door with a smile.
However, as soon as her gaze reached the room, her smile faded away like a wilting flower.
The room was a mess, with overturned chairs and scattered papers everywhere. It looked like a hurricane had attacked the room.
"Argh!"
Down on the floor, Julian clutched his twisted leg in agony, feeling the pain shoot through his body.
Through his thigh to his leg, the bones were shattered into powder.
"Shit! Shit! Shit! Aaaaaaaaargh!"
Julian screamed hoarsely.
"Oh my god!"
Julia covered her mouth in shock and ran towards him with Dominic, who was also shocked to the core, and asked what the hell happened.
"I don't know what happened! Some fucking masked guy came here, attacked me out of nowhere, and crushed my fucking leg!"
Julia's eyes shook in shock.
"D-Dominic, go get the coach!"
"Right away!"
Dominic wasted no time and ran off the room like a bat out of hell.
…
A few minutes passed, and then hurried footsteps arrived at the infirmary.
When Coach Jin, Kiernan, and Sabbath arrived there, they saw Julia helping the injured young man back to his bed.
"What the hell happened?!"
Coach Jin screamed.
"Argh!"
Julian laid down on the bed and grabbed the blanket under him, wincing in pain. He was too much in pain to answer.
Dominic quickly explained to them what Julian had told them about a masked individual.
"What the fuck? This is outrageous! How could an outsider attack one of the fighters? This was a targeted attack!"
Coach Jin had never been more pissed and quickly called for a doctor to come.
A short while later, the doctor came without wasting any time after hearing about the sudden attack and quickly examined the state of Julian's leg.
"How is it, doctor?"
Coach Jin asked.
Kiernan looked at the scene with a cold expression on his face, then turned around and whispered to his master.
"It must be Alabaster's doings."
"Why do you think that?"
Sabbath asked.
"For some reason, he wants to win this tournament no matter what. After I basically defeated Zachary in that classroom, he returned completely drugged.
"It is clear that Alabaster gave him the drugs to have a greater chance at victory. It was to make sure that he defeats me.
"They didn't expect someone like Julian to be here. His strength caught them off guard, and after Alabaster saw him use Flow State… he knew that he couldn't allow Zachary to fight both of us.

"Thus, he became desperate, came here, and made sure that Julian cannot participate any more."
Kiernan said.
Sabbath let out a deep sigh and agreed with his disciple's assessment of the situation.
"It isn't looking good."
The doctor said.
"What do you mean?"
Coach Jin asked with rounded eyes.
It was the worst thing they could hear the doctor say.
"The bones on his right leg are crushed. I can give him strong medication, but it will take months for his leg to heal.
"While the medicine we have is strong, it is strongest against flesh wounds. As it looks currently, we cannot allow Julian to participate in tomorrow's matches. I am sorry."
When they heard that, they felt like they had dropped from the peak of happiness to the deepest sorrow.
Not long ago they were celebrating the spot at the semifinals, but now Julian, who they needed to win with Kiernan, was out of the tournament!
It was an enormous loss!
"No!"
Julian screamed while cold sweat ran down his face.
"I… can fight. I… don't need both my legs!"
"The safety of the students is a priority. There had already been many… controversies about the safety of the students, so we can't possibly allow you to return to the ring in your current state."
The doctor said.
He understood Julian's frustration, but it would look really bad if they allowed basically a crippled young man to participate any more.
"Shit…"
Julian hid his eyes, but he couldn't hide the tears of frustration that trickled down from the corners of his eyes.
"God damn it!"
Coach Jin tossed a bedside table over in frustration and tugged at his hair in anger.
'Someone must've done this to weaken us. It must be someone from the top four schools, but who could possibly be so ruthless and cunning?'
At that moment, a powerful aura washed through the room and made everyone's hair stand in attention. The room suddenly fell silent, and they all turned to see who just let out that aura.
"Ah, calm down there, boy. You must keep yourself in control and use that aura in your match."
Sabbath looked to his side with a smile on his face.
"I am in control."
Kiernan said coldly and reeled back the powerful aura. The power of which enveloped his body like a blazing fire.
"I just don't understand why we're acting like we've already lost the nationals. You guys have me, remember, and I don't plan to fucking lose."
Kiernan said, and cracked his knuckles.
