Martial Arts: I Have a Wilderness World-Chapter 56: Test
When his two uncles learned of the situation, their faces filled with sorrow.
"Uncles, in a couple of days, once my father has recovered a bit, I have something to tell everyone. There’s no rush for now. Let’s just stay here for the time being. As long as we’re alive, things will get better.
Also, I need to go out and take care of something. You and Little Uncle, please help look after things at home.
I might not be back until tomorrow. After I leave, brace the door with a piece of wood. Don’t open it for any reason, unless it’s me returning!"
Zhou Hansong looked at his nephew. Seeming to guess his intentions, he didn’t ask any questions and just nodded. "Don’t worry. Be careful."
Cheng Zongyang went into the inner room to check on his father’s condition.
Seeing no signs of a fever, he breathed a sigh of relief. It meant the wound wasn’t infected.
Without telling his mother his plans, Cheng Zongyang left the house alone.
He didn’t know which members of the Jin Family were going to the County Town, or at what time, but he could lie in wait.
He made his way through the darkness to the woods by the village entrance. Cheng Zongyang glanced at the moon in the sky. It was still early.
Then, he entered the Wilderness World.
「The Market Cabin.」
This time, he planned to continue brewing the medicinal soup for Body Forging. He also wanted to try making a nourishing Ginseng Soup to see if it would boost his progress.
After all, there were still a few snakes in the cabin. He could stew one of them.
’Even if that doesn’t work, give me two more days and I can become an Entry Grade Martial Artist.’
’By then, my Power will have increased, and I’ll have more confidence in my ability to protect my family!’
Cheng Zongyang ignored the missions and looked at his item list to see what new things had appeared.
His brow furrowed at the first item. But when he saw the next two, his eyes went wide.
——
[Watermelon]

Note: Points can be used to upgrade the recipe.
——

——
Cheng Zongyang never would have imagined that two such incredible items would appear this time!
Especially the Foundation Establishment Medicine Recipe. It was a perfect treasure for improving the aptitude of the family’s children.
He had never planned to fight alone in this world, which was why he had considered having his father try the system after he himself successfully reached Entry Grade.
With two Martial Artists in the family, their safety would be greatly enhanced.
Likewise, if the recipe worked, it would determine the future direction of the Cheng Family.
But he’d never expected something this good to show up now!
’Children could use the Foundation Establishment recipe from a young age until they’re sixteen to improve their Physique and build a solid foundation. Then, they could use the Body Forging recipe to become Entry Grade Martial Artists.’
’Their future achievements would surely be remarkable!’
’Used correctly, this recipe could become the very foundation for a thriving family!’
’Five hundred Points is an absolute bargain!’
But the price wasn’t low. He only had 257 Points right now, which wasn’t even enough to buy the Basic Saber Technique.
As for the Basic Saber Technique, he wanted to buy that too. The description filled him with anticipation.
’Eight hundred Points in total... Unless I run into another two or three creatures like the Black-Horned Python, there’s no way I can gather enough Points in three days.’
He had things to take care of in the outside world; he couldn’t spend all day hunting for prey in the Wilderness World just to scrape together Points.
Finally, his gaze fell upon the three rare Treasures hanging on the wall—the Centennial Ginseng, the Antler Mushrooms, and the Black-Horned Python Gall.
The Centennial Ginseng was worth 300 Points.
The Antler Mushrooms were worth 150 Points each, so two of them made exactly 300 Points.
The Black-Horned Python Gall was worth 150 Points.
That was 750 Points in total.
And he still had 257 Points on him.
For a grand total of 1007 Points!
’Wait, just a little longer! I’ll try to take care of Jin Fugui and his men today, and then we’ll move to the County Town! Once my family is in a stable environment, I can take a day or two to try and gather the Points! It would be great if I could keep at least one of these materials!’
Before making a final, desperate move, he still wanted to give it a try. He didn’t want to sell these rare Medicinal Materials just like that!
Suppressing the thought of selling his treasures now, he turned and walked out of the market cabin.
Once outside, he checked the fence and saw no signs of damage.
Then he started brewing the medicinal soup!
As for his plans for Ginseng Soup or Antler Mushroom soup, those would have to wait.
While the soup was simmering, Cheng Zongyang left the Wilderness World and hurried toward the County Town.
No matter when the Jin Family members went to the County Town or which road they took, they would ultimately have to enter through the west gate of the County Town.
Therefore, he just needed to wait for them on the main road before the County Town’s gates opened! His goal wasn’t to kill the men from the Jin Family, but to follow them and find Jin Fugui.
An hour later, once the medicinal soup was ready, Cheng Zongyang immediately extinguished the fire.
Next came the agonizing process for the third time!
When a person is in pain, time seems to slow down several times, even dozens of times... to the point where a day feels like a year.
The ordeal ended as the soup cooled and the liquid cleared. What followed was the pummelling and striking of his own body.
His arms, his legs, his back, his chest...
Half an hour later, a recovered Cheng Zongyang felt the abundant Power surging within him once more. He was thrilled to find that the toughness of his skin had also noticeably improved.
To test the extent of his improvement after three sessions, he went behind the cabin to a giant tree trunk so thick it would take six or seven people to encircle it with their arms.
He had cut it down himself to keep it from blocking the sun from the cabin.
When the nearly seventy-meter-long giant tree had fallen, it had crushed an unknown number of other trees, but there was no other way. He had to cut it down.
He walked over to the break in the trunk and shook his head slightly at the messy, splintered wood.
He wasn’t foolish enough to try and lift this tree. The Weight of such a behemoth was far beyond what his current Power could handle.
He turned and looked at another tree to the side.
It wasn’t as large as the giant one, but it was still thick enough to take three people to encircle. It had been snapped in two when the giant tree fell on it.
He felt his way to the broken end of the trunk in the dark. After twisting his body to warm up, he reached out, got a grip under one end of the trunk, bent his knees, and took a deep breath...
"Hah!"
With a low roar, he instantly held his breath and tried to lift the log, channeling Power from his core.
Before the medicinal baths, he could carry a large wild boar weighing three or four hundred pounds.
He could even drag a bear.
However, even with his stance as firm as possible, his legs began to tremble uncontrollably as he exerted all his strength.
His face turned beet red from the strain, and the veins on his neck bulged.
’Heavy!’
’So heavy!!’
This was the only thought in Cheng Zongyang’s mind.
Finally, he slowly lifted one end of the tree. But his legs were shaking even more severely.
"Aaargh..."
With a great shout, Cheng Zongyang hoisted the broken trunk to his waist.
The next moment, his hands loosened, and the log crashed down heavily, letting out a "THUD" that echoed through the forest.
That single impact was like a stone thrown into a shimmering, windless lake, shattering the tranquil peace of the mountain forest and startling away countless creatures.
