Marrying His Nemesis: Kicking My Scumbag Fiancé Away!-Chapter 82: Lipstick (Part 2)
Chloe’s words were at this point, and Ethan Sterling didn’t know what to say.
"Well then, let Nathan come over directly, I’ve just bought quite a bit of groceries."
"Alright, I’ll make the call."
Chloe walked to the window in the living room with her phone. Ethan reached out to steady Seraphina Thorne’s shoulder and bent down to kiss her cheek.
"What would you like for dinner?"
"Anything’s fine." Seraphina pulled his hand away, "I’m a bit tired, going to change my clothes."
"Well, you take a good rest. I’ll handle dinner."
He gently rubbed his hand on her hair, then turned and walked into the kitchen.
"Yes, Seraphina had a hard day, Ethan and I will take care of dinner, I’ll be the kitchen helper, and I’m really good at washing vegetables!"
The man and woman entered the kitchen in succession, and Seraphina glanced in the direction of the kitchen, then turned into the bedroom.
Not wanting to interrupt their time together, she deliberately lingered until Nathan arrived before coming out of the bedroom.
That night, the four of them celebrated together for Seraphina. By eleven o’clock, the Foster siblings finally left together.
Seraphina voluntarily began tidying up the dishes on the table. Ethan helped her put the leftover dishes into the fridge, then stood beside her and wrapped his arms around her waist.
He bent down and softly kissed her neck, as his hand slipped under her sweater.
Feeling weak from his teasing, Seraphina complained softly.
"I haven’t washed the dishes yet!"
Pulling at the tie of her apron, Ethan kissed and nibbled at her neck, his voice a bit hoarse.
"Let Ms. Sawyer take care of that tomorrow morning, be good!"
Seraphina was too powerless to refuse, she had to put down the dish in her hand.
He scooped her up in his arms, walked into the bedroom, and laid her on the bed, lowering his head to kiss her.
Moved by his kisses, Seraphina wrapped her arms around his neck.
Her fingers instinctively, gently caressed the man’s short hair at the nape while another hand grasped his collar.
When her gaze inadvertently swept across, Seraphina immediately noticed a patch of unusual color on the man’s shirt.
Upon closer inspection, she recognized it as a girl’s lipstick.
She never wore that color.
The image of Ethan and Chloe embracing flashed through her mind again.
Seraphina suddenly recalled that the lipstick Chloe wore tonight was precisely that color.
Out of nowhere, she began to feel a bit angry.
How did the man manage to keep his body and heart separate?
Obviously, what he wanted was Chloe, so why was he still teasing her?
Holding Ethan’s hand that was tugging at her sweater, Seraphina turned her face away.
"I’m feeling a bit tired today, I want to rest early."
With his face nestled in her bosom, Ethan gasped for breath and gave her a gentle bite.
"Make it up to me another day, wife."
He propped himself up, his gaze sweeping over the blushing, breathless Seraphina before him, who was already exposed to the skin from his kisses. Ethan forcibly suppressed his desire and looked away.
"You sleep early, I’m going to handle some work!"
He stood up, walked to the bathroom in the living room, and washed his face with cold water.
Ethan walked into the study room, closed the door, and sat down in the chair behind the desk.
His body was still somewhat restless, he needed to calm down.
Bzzzz—
The phone on the table suddenly vibrated.
Shooting a glance at Sean Hale’s call on the screen, Ethan grabbed the phone irritably.
"What’s up!"
Sean Hale could hear his surly tone and gently cleared his throat.
"President Sterling, I didn’t mean to interrupt you."
"Speak!"
"I found a relevant person for those suppliers you wanted me to investigate earlier."
After Seraphina received that information sheet from Adrian Chamberlain, Ethan had arranged for Sean to investigate.
After the accident at Zenith Apartments, several suppliers, fearing implication, had already gone into hiding.
Sean had managed to find one of them with difficulty, and promptly notified Ethan.
This was concerning Caleb Thorne’s case, so Ethan immediately sat up.
"Where?"
"The person is in Jadeston, hiding in the suburbs, I’ve already confirmed the address."
"Send me the address, we’ll meet up there."
If they could get some evidence from the supplier, the chances of overturning Caleb Thorne’s case during the actual trial would be greater.
Striding out of the study, Ethan turned his face to glance in the direction of the bedroom.
Assuming Seraphina was already asleep, he didn’t go in to disturb her.
Tiptoeing, he took his coat and car keys and quietly left.
On the bed in the bedroom.
Seraphina tossed and turned, still unable to sleep.
What reason did she have to be angry with Ethan?
Whatever woman he liked, that was originally his freedom.
And she, was merely his contract wife.
Getting up from the bed, Seraphina ran a hand through her hair, hesitated for a moment, and finally went to the study.
Pleasing him was originally her duty.
Moreover, Ethan had helped her with so many things, she had no reason to refuse him.
Fixing her hair, Seraphina raised her right hand and gently knocked on the door.
"Honey, can I come in?"
Inside, no one responded.
Seraphina pushed open the door, only to find an empty room.
Out so late at night, he must have gone to see Chloe, right?
Seraphina bit her lower lip, turned, and returned to the bedroom.
Opening the drawer, she poured out two sleeping pills and tossed them into her mouth, swallowing hard and closing her eyes.
The pills stuck to her throat and began to dissolve.
A bitter taste spread between her lips and teeth.
