Chapter 59: Chapter 59: Flirting With Your Own Wife Is Called Loving Affection

"In the future...would you like to sleep with your husband?"

The man’s voice rang in her ear.

Seraphina pursed her lips.

"Okay."

Their relationship had progressed to the point where they were just one small step away from being husband and wife; being in separate rooms didn’t really make a difference anymore.

A gentle touch on her neck.

Seraphina felt a bit ticklish from his kiss and shrank her neck.

"I’m washing dishes, don’t mess around!"

She had just picked up the gloves, when she was suddenly lifted away from the sink by Ethan Sterling.

Ethan took the rubber gloves from her and stood in front of the sink with a smile.

"I’ll wash, you shouldn’t catch a cold unless it’s a special circumstance!"

The third son of the Sterling Family, the bigshot that calls the shots on Vexler Street...

Actually helping her wash dishes?

Seraphina stood beside him, watching Ethan seriously put on the rubber gloves, opened her mouth but didn’t know what to say.

Seeing her still standing there, Ethan smiled.

"What are you staying there for? Can I have the apron?"

"Oh, yes!"

Seraphina snapped out of it and quickly untied her apron, helping him put it on.

Feeling a tad embarrassed to rest herself, while Ethan was doing the dishes, she stood nearby, taking the cleaned plates and drying them with a towel, putting them neatly into the cabinet.

Noticing the foam that had splashed onto his face, Seraphina held his arm, raising her hand to wipe a bit off his eyebrow.

"You’re supposed to wash dishes, not take a shower!"

Ethan winked at her, with a roguish grin.

"I wouldn’t mind a shower if my wife were to help."

"Rascal!"

Seraphina laughed teasingly.

Handing her the last dish, Ethan washed his hands and took off the apron.

"It’s called ’being affectionate’ with one’s wife; with anyone else, it’s being a rascal!"

Seraphina couldn’t argue with him, so she just rolled her eyes in response.

Just as she was putting away the dish, he picked her up horizontally.

"Hey!" she exclaimed, grabbing his shirt collar, "What are you doing now?"

Holding her, Ethan walked out of the kitchen with big strides.

"Helping my wife carry things, of course!"

He carried her to the master bedroom and placed her on the bed.

Ethan turned around to leave, returning shortly with her clothes in his arms.

Seraphina hurriedly got off the bed to help him open the wardrobe door.

This was Seraphina’s first time entering Ethan’s wardrobe.

The man’s wardrobe was dominated by black, white, grey, and blue, with few other colors, neatly arranged but a bit monotonous.

Now with her clothes hung up, the previously dull wardrobe instantly became lively and vibrant.

Seraphina stood in the middle of the wardrobe, looking at their coats hanging close together, she couldn’t help but be mesmerized.

Sharing food and bed, does she and Ethan...count as a real married couple now?

"Wife, lend a hand!"

Behind her came Ethan’s voice.

Seraphina turned her head, seeing him with her lingerie in his arms.

Her face flushed as she quickly came over to take the clothes from him.

"I can tidy these up myself."

"We’re already a couple now." Ethan opened a drawer, taking the panties from her hand and placing them next to his own underwear, "From now on, you have to get used to living with me."

Get used to it?

Seraphina held the clothes and remained silent.

If she becomes used to living with him now.

What will her days be like without him in the future?

They tidied up until it was around ten o’clock before they moved all her things into Ethan’s room.

Of course...

Rather than saying the two of them moved, it was more like Ethan moved the things, with her just helping a bit. 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚

On the first two days of her period, Seraphina typically felt too lazy to move.

Watching Ethan go work in the study, she took a quick shower, and climbed into bed and under the covers.

Thinking Ethan would stay in the study working late as usual.

Unexpectedly, just as she lay down, he returned.

Seraphina was playing on her phone under the covers, there was no time to pretend to sleep, so she just pretended to be calm.

Moments later, Ethan came out of the bathroom, lying beside her to sleep.

Seraphina was contemplating whether to keep playing on her phone or turn off the lights to sleep.

His arm reached over, encircling her waist, pulling her into his embrace.

Through her pajamas, Seraphina could clearly feel his firm chest muscles.

Knew he wouldn’t try anything given her current state, she still felt somewhat inexplicably nervous.

Ethan didn’t do anything more, just buried his face in her neck.

"Does your stomach hurt?"

She lightly shook her head.

"It’s okay."

Ethan tightened his arm, pulling her entire body onto him, her feet also pressed against his calves.

Seraphina never experienced menstrual cramps, but since it was the first day, she felt somewhat uncomfortable, with her hands, feet, and lower back being chilly.

"My feet are cold!"

Worried about freezing him, she wanted to move her feet away, but he pinned her knees.

"Just right, I’m warm!"

The man’s palms were warm, the body against her lower back was warm too, stepping on his warm calves, her feet gradually warmed up...

Being held like this by him was truly comforting.

Seraphina unconsciously relaxed, letting her breathing lighten, descending into slumber.

She had no notion that later that night.

Ethan held her and stayed awake until midnight.

Certainly did not know the man buried his face in her neck, greedily smelling her long hair, whispering softly.

"You know, Seraphina, I’ve waited so long for this day!"

That night, Seraphina slept particularly soundly, all the way to the next morning.

If Nathan Foster hadn’t called to inform her the contract had been drawn up, she probably would’ve slept a bit longer.

Beside her, the pillow was already empty, Ethan had left earlier.

Under her phone on the nightstand was Ethan’s credit card and a note.

"Wife, take some time to pick a car for your husband, you know the password.

Breakfast is in the microwave, 100 degrees for one minute, be careful not to get burned."

Seraphina got dressed after washing and went to the kitchen.

Saw in the microwave, indeed Ethan prepared her breakfast—

A fried egg and a cup of chocolate.

Heating for one minute, the egg reached perfect medium and the chocolate was just right.

Seraphina holding the sweet warm chocolate, recalling what Ethan said the night before.

"If you like, husband will cook it for you every day."

She thought he might’ve been just talking, but unexpectedly, he actually prepared the chocolate for her.

Seraphina sipped the hot chocolate, involuntarily curving her lips into a smile.

If there was a mirror before her at this moment, she would see a woman smiling sweetly, gradually...

Surrendering amidst a man’s fondness.

But at this moment, Seraphina didn’t realize this fact.

After finishing breakfast, worried Nathan might wait too long, Seraphina hailed a taxi and headed to the villa area on the Third Ring, heading towards the Foster Family’s old estate.

The two families were once neighbors, as she passed her own house she naturally turned her head.

Seeing the door of her family’s old villa opened, she sat up straight.

"Driver, please park by the curb!"

The taxi stopped at the side of the road, unable to hold back her curiosity, Seraphina walked up the steps of her family’s old house.

A middle-aged woman, appearing to be a servant, stepped out carrying a broom.

"Excuse me." Seraphina smiled, "Do you live here?"

"Such an expensive house, I can’t afford to buy it." The woman waved, smiling, "I’m just a cleaner, come by to help clean the house."

"Then..." Seraphina grabbed her arm, "Do you know who bought this house?"

"I’m not aware of that."

Discarding the trash in her hand, the cleaner lady walked back into the villa with her broom.

Seraphina stood at the bottom of the steps, gazing at what was once her home.

A feeling of bitterness swelled in her heart.

It seems the old house has already been auctioned off by the court, even if her brother’s case is won, this house can’t be returned.

The place where she grew up, from now on...

Belongs to someone else!

"Seraphina!"

From a distance, someone called her name.
