Marrying His Nemesis: Kicking My Scumbag Fiancé Away!-Chapter 159: See You at the Civil Affairs Bureau Entrance at 8 AM Tomorrow! (Part 1)
The next day.
Seraphina rushed to the orchestra to report early in the morning, and just as she stepped out of the subway station, she ran into Claire Clayton.
"Seraphina!" Claire ran over with a smile, linking her arm with hers, "You’re finally back. It’s been so boring at the orchestra without you."
Claire observed her expression, with a slightly hesitant tone.
"By the way, Seraphina, I heard President Sterling’s company is in trouble. Is it serious?"
"It’s nothing," Seraphina replied casually, "It should be resolved soon."
On her way over by subway, Seraphina had also seen the news.
This issue with Sterling & Co. seemed quite severe, so it’s likely Ethan Sterling returned to the Sterling Family because of it.
With the Sterling Family’s assets and influence, if Arthur Sterling steps in, they should quickly help Ethan Sterling pull through the crisis.
Seeing her casual attitude, Claire also relaxed.
"That’s good to know."
They chatted and laughed as they arrived at the orchestra. Seraphina didn’t mention to Claire about her plans to divorce Ethan Sterling.
After putting her backpack in the office, Seraphina went upstairs to report to the orchestra leader, Tristan Quincy.
Upon hearing that she was returning to work, Tristan Quincy looked pleasantly surprised. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
"I thought you were going to sign with a major orchestra abroad and wouldn’t come back!"
"You’re too kind. Our orchestra has such a great environment, there’s no way I’d want to leave."
"Seraphina, you’re simply too sincere," Tristan Quincy chuckled, shaking his head, "If other musicians achieved what you have, they’d have signed with a big orchestra ages ago."
"You’re not annoyed with me, are you?" Seraphina joked.
"How could I be?" Tristan Quincy laughed heartily, "Having a musician like you staying with the orchestra is an honor for us."
"You’re too kind."
"Since you put it that way, I won’t hold back." Tristan Quincy picked up a performance contract from the table and handed it to Seraphina, "I’ll leave this performance to you."
Seraphina took the contract and glanced through it.
Seeing the words "Sterling Tower," she paused slightly.
"Is this... a Sterling Group event?"
"I’m not sure. The contract was signed by the agency," seeing Seraphina’s strange expression, Tristan Quincy examined her with concern, "Is there something wrong?"
"No!" Seraphina shook her head lightly, "I’ll go prepare now."
Since she worked for the orchestra, she had to comply with their arrangements.
Moreover, the other party had already signed the contract, and if she didn’t go, it would mean the orchestra was breaching the contract.
The contract did not specify the exact contracting party; it’s possible the other party merely rented the venue at Sterling Tower, unrelated to Sterling Group.
Besides, even if it was a Sterling event.
For minor matters like a new product launch, Ethan Sterling, a scion of the Sterling Family, might not attend.
Commercial performances by the orchestra were nothing new.
Such gigs are much simpler compared to concerts and offer higher pay.
Even a major orchestra like Aethel Philharmonic, for economic efficacy, couldn’t avoid it.
With great responsibility comes great dedication.
As the head of the orchestra’s string section, such tasks were naturally her responsibility, and she wasn’t in a position to be picky.
Returning downstairs, Seraphina immediately selected seven or eight musicians from the ensemble to form a small orchestra.
Then, she personally led the team to Sterling Tower.
The staff was very courteous, escorting them to the backstage of a multifunctional hall on an upper floor.
"The launch is scheduled for 7 PM tomorrow. We asked you to come today to rehearse with the models and ensure everything will go smoothly during the performance."
"No problem," Seraphina glanced at the time, "May I take a look at the venue?"
To ensure the best performance, she needed to see the site and arrange the musicians’ positions accordingly.
"Of course," the staff obligingly gestured with their right hand, "Please follow me."
The two of them went to the launch site, where the staff carefully introduced her to the layout.
Seraphina took a good look around, quickly formulating a plan in her mind.
"Alright, let’s take a short break, and we’ll be ready soon."
As they chatted, a group of people arrived at the launch site.
Leading the way was a young woman, appearing a few years older than Seraphina.
With short hair and a suit, she had a smart yet elegant style.
At this moment, the young woman noticed Seraphina and walked over with a smile.
"This is Miss Seraphina Thorne from Aethel Philharmonic, and our music performance for this launch is managed by their orchestra," the staff introduced them with a smile, "Miss Thorne, this is Miss Zoe Sterling, the chief designer of JS Jewelry."
"Seraphina Thorne?" Zoe Sterling looked her up and down, "Are you by any chance the winner of the Paganini International Violin Competition... Seraphina Thorne?"
"I didn’t expect Miss Sterling to pay attention to such competitions."
"Is it really you?" Zoe Sterling exclaimed with surprise, "Wow, this is such a delightful surprise!"
"You flatter me," Seraphina replied modestly, "It’s just a small competition, nothing significant."
"The Paganini Competition is like the Oscars of the violin world; Miss Thorne, you’re too modest," Zoe Sterling laughed, extending her hand, "I look forward to working with you."
Seraphina extended her right hand, gently shaking Zoe’s, "It’s us who should be looking forward to your guidance."
Nearby, another staff member approached.
"Miss Sterling, everything is ready on our end. When would you like to start?"
Zoe Sterling checked her watch, "In ten minutes; Miss Thorne, is that okay with you?"
"No problem."
"Great, then we’ll officially rehearse in ten minutes. I’ll go make some arrangements, and see you shortly!"
Bidding farewell to Seraphina, Zoe Sterling turned to the side to prepare for the rehearsal.
Seraphina returned to the backstage, gathering Claire and the other musicians onto the music stage to prepare for rehearsal.
The models were professionals, as were the musicians with Seraphina.
After a brief period of adjustment, everyone settled into their roles quickly.
By dusk, the rehearsal concluded smoothly.
Zoe Sterling seemed satisfied with the progress, clapping her hands with a smile.
"Good work, everyone. Let’s wrap up here today. Rest well tonight, and we’ll rehearse with full costumes tomorrow morning."
The models headed backstage to remove their makeup, while Seraphina and her team packed up their instruments, ready to leave.
"Miss Thorne!" Zoe Sterling approached with a smile, "Could I have a few minutes of your time?"
"Of course," Seraphina paused, "Claire, you all can head back first; I’ll chat with Miss Sterling for a bit."
Claire and the others left, and Zoe Sterling raised her right hand, leading Seraphina to her resting area.
She personally took out a bottle of mineral water, handing it to Seraphina.
"My next question might be a bit intrusive, and if Miss Thorne doesn’t want to answer, you don’t have to."
Seraphina looked at her questioningly, "What exactly do you want to say?"
Zoe hesitated for a moment, then smiled, "May I ask, Miss Thorne, are you the daughter of the Thorne Family of Zenith Group?"
Seraphina didn’t know why she suddenly asked this, but she nodded honestly.
"Will this... affect our collaboration in any way?"
"Of course not, don’t misunderstand. I didn’t mean it that way, actually..." Zoe bit her lip, "I wanted to ask you about someone, Caleb Thorne... he is your brother, right?"
