Ch.201 Side Story 3 (3)

Hence, when all the elementary school students had their own circle of friends, and gossip came about, it always revolved around those few words for Yan Chi, the most being that he was too arrogant.

Cocky, in other words, hard to get along with.

Every time someone said that.

Yan Chi's friends would retort their words in anger.

As they thought to themselves: You have never seen how he treats his sister.

Yan Chi also felt that these people were just making baseless assumptions.

But he was too lazy to argue with them.

His father said, "Just don’t be like me when I was young."

"What were you like back then?" He was watching cartoon shows with his sister in his arms, and when he heard him, he asked casually without even looking up.

His dad was triumphant: "Popular and warm-hearted."

Him:"………"

Friday, half past two in the afternoon.

School had just ended.

Chen Jinyao brought Yan Zaozao along to pick up Yan Chi.

As the long National Day holiday was around the corner, Yan Cheng proposed for them to go on

a trip as a family.

The out of nowhere proposal, got Yan Zaozao complete support.

The little girl fluttered her big eyes and said sweetly, "Daddy, you’re amazing."

The ultimate. Daughter slave. Yan Cheng: ⊙ω⊙

His life was instantly filled with meaning.

That's why they came to pick up Yan Chi today.

As his school was relatively close to home, Yan Chi would usually take the bus home by himself.

Half past two,

The sun rays were so intense that it could fry someone alive.

Yan Zaozao sat in the child seat that was at the back seat, as she shook her short legs.

After a while, after the school bell rang, she twisted her chubby body and tightly pressed herself against the car window. Her big eyes stared intently at the students in yellow hats as they poured out.

"Brother is so slow."

Chen Jinyao: "Well, he doesn't like to squeeze with the others."

Yan Zaozao turned her head around, "Mom!"

"Um."

"Let's go down and wait for him!"

"Let’s not." Chen Jinyao hesitated, "It’s so hot outside, you’ll get a tan."

"Zaozao is not afraid of the heat." Her cute voice sounded determined.

"Mom, please?"

"Mummy."

"Mummy."

"Mummy!"

The older she got, the more she couldn’t stand this form of cute attacks.

When Chen Jinyao called out "Mom" in her sweet voice, Chen Jinyao felt that her heart had melted, "Okay, okay."

When they were out, she always emphasised on how she didn't want to bask in the sun or get a tan, but now to pick her elder brother up, she couldn’t care less.

The pair had such a good relationship that it often made people jealous.

Just get some sunlight, it's healthier anyways.

Chen Jinyao hopped out and hugged Yan Zaozao out of the car.

Yan Zaozao insisted on walking on her own. Chen Jinyao could do nothing about it, she could only say, "Now we have to cross the road. You can walk by yourself after mummy brings you across the road."

Yan Zaozao shook her head and refused, as she said in a serious tone and educated Chen Jinyao: "Mom, I’ll eventually have to grow up on my own."

Chen Jinyao: ".……"

Seven to eight minutes later.

The huge crowd of students exiting the school gradually dispersed.

Yan Zaozao stood in Chen Jinyao’s shadow, tiptoed as she craned her neck, with her hand on her waist, she tried to locate her brother in the crowd.

Not long after, Chen Jinyao bent down and pointed in a direction for the little girl, "Hey, your brother is here."

The little girl's eyes lit up, "Where?"

He gave off a unique aura.

He didn’t have the little yellow hat on.

That’s why he stood out in the crowd.

His gaze was lowered, with pursed lips, he walked out leisurely with his hands in his pockets.

The stern look on his face made many keep his distance from him.

Until a cute sound yelled, "Brother."

He paused, raised his gaze, and looked around.

After a few seconds, his eyes stopped on the little girl, who was about ten steps away from him.

Her hair was in a pigtail,

As she grinned at him.

She broke free from her mother’s hands, and ran straight towards him.

"Brother."

Yan Chi smiled with his eyes as his lips imperceptibly raised.

A low chuckle rolled out from his throat.

He walked forward in quick steps, with his arms wide open, he got a hold of Yan Zaozao who was about to pounce on him. He rocked her as she was in his arms, and looked sideways at her with a soft expression on his face.

"Zaozao came to pick me up from school?"

Yan Zaozao crooked her little head to the side, "En!"

"Zaozao missed you."

The corners of Yan Chi's lips rose frantically: ".........um."

Hehehe.

His cold image was no longer intact.
