70s Delicate Girl: A Guide to Being a Rich Woman-Chapter 399: Farewell, Yun Luo
"Why did you all suddenly decide to start planting vegetables?" Xu Mumu helped water the vegetables that Madam Chen and her group had planted. π§πππππ«π·π€πΏππ‘.ππ€πΆ
"Thereβs such a big patch of land just sitting empty, might as well use it as a personal plot. Planting these flowers and plants, they can be seen but not eaten, itβs not worth it." Looking at the flowers and plants, Madam Chenβs eyes were full of disdain. In her eyes, anything that could fill the stomach was good stuff.
As for those that can only be seen but not eaten, they received nothing but disdain; if they couldnβt fill the stomach, they were useless.
"They look quite nice, though. These flowers can be dried to make floral tea or used in pastries, so theyβre not entirely useless." Xu Mumu said helplessly. Her grandmotherβs thoughts were as simple and unpretentious as ever.
"Can these things be used for pastries?" Madam Chen pursed her lips. These things have no taste, theyβre not sweet, can they be tasty?
"Of course, they can. Once Mrs. Liu cleans up the petals, next time Iβll ask her to make us some pastries." Xu Mumu said with a smile.
"Mrs. Liu sure knows a lot." Madam Chen said with some admiration. No wonder a widow like her could raise two children; with such skills, she could make money anywhere.
"Indeed, quite a lot." Xu Mumu laughed. Even she didnβt know where Yin Yang found her.
After helping Madam Chen plant vegetables in the empty space, the dean had finished chatting with Professor Song. He was in a very good mood when he left. Yin Yang tried to persuade him to stay for dinner, but the dean declined, saying he had other matters to attend to at home.
In the kitchen, Mrs. Liu was busy preparing dinner. She really liked kids. Ever since Fengfeng came, sheβd always give him something to eat whenever he entered the kitchen.
Now, Mrs. Liu had become Fengfengβs favorite person. The food she gave him was just too delicious.
During dinner, Professor Song mentioned the reason the dean came to see him. The dean had opened up a project and wanted Xu Mumu to join him in the experiment, asking her if she was interested in participating.
After lunch, Xu Mumu took the experiment content Professor Song handed her.
Looking at it, Xu Mumu raised an eyebrow slightly. This was a topic she had seen in textbooks in her past life; it was quite a classic experiment. She hadnβt expected it to be proposed by the dean. Xu Mumu was rather surprised.
"So, what do you think? Interested?" Professor Song asked Xu Mumu.
"Sir Song, I know this experiment. The deanβs topic is not very developed yet. I wonβt participate in the experiment, but Iβll revise it this afternoon and send it back to the dean." Xu Mumu smiled.
Professor Song was taken aback and looked at Xu Mumu in confusion, "You know it?"
"Yes." Xu Mumu nodded, not elaborating further.
Back in her room, Yin Yang also guessed Xu Mumuβs intentions and didnβt disturb her.
Xu Mumu reviewed the experiment content and steps, marking the errors without making too many other changes. She revised it only to help the dean avoid unnecessary detours.
In the afternoon, when heading to class, Yin Yang took a look at Xu Mumuβs revised topic and smiled. His grandfather taught physics, so he understood these things.
"Mumu, you did a remarkable job in your revisions." Yin Yang said seriously, with pride in his eyes.
"Iβve seen it before in a textbook." Xu Mumu said helplessly, dismissing the compliment. It wasnβt originally her work, after all.
"Remembering it is impressive as well. The dean will be very happy with your corrections." Yin Yang said with a smile.
"Probably. I assume the dean wants me to join him in the experiment." Xu Mumu chuckled lightly.
Xu Mumu guessed right. After class, she returned the topic to the dean.
Seeing the changes Xu Mumu made, the dean suddenly had a revelation. When he first launched the topic, he sensed something was off with the experiment, but he wasnβt sure exactly what was wrong. Now, after seeing Xu Mumuβs amendments, everything became clear.
"Mumu, are you really not considering it further?" the dean asked with some regret. He hadnβt expected her to refuse outright.
"No need, Dean. Itβs not my ambition. You know Iβm currently working on improving my experimental equipment." Xu Mumu said with a smile. She already knew the experimentβs outcome, so it wasnβt meaningful for her. Sheβd only gain a little prestige from an award, which would look good on her resume.
"Alright then." The dean sighed. It was evident that Xu Mumu thoroughly understood the experiment, and participating in it wouldnβt be very beneficial. Better to let her focus on her research with the experimental equipment.
After the dean let her leave, Xu Mumu breathed a sigh of relief. She was worried the dean might insist she participate.
With no classes in the next two periods, Xu Mumu took her books and went to the library.
The library was as quiet as ever, and Xu Mumu loved the learning atmosphere there.
Finding a quiet spot, she sat down. Just as she was about to read in peace, a familiar figure appeared before her.
Looking at the pretty girl approaching her, it was Yun Luo visiting the Imperial City again.
"Xu Mumu, donβt get cocky." Yun Luo said in a low voice, staring at Xu Mumu. The gentle demeanor was gone, replaced by resentment.
If it werenβt for Xu Mumu, she wouldnβt be forced into an engagement she didnβt want, even facing an imminent wedding.
This time, she ran away secretly, intending to find Yin Yang, and more importantly, to deal with Xu Mumu, who stole the man she liked.
"How am I being cocky? Yin Yang told me youβre engaged. What, still havenβt given up on him?" Xu Mumu raised an eyebrow slightly. Tsk, this girl sure holds a lot of grudges.
"Brother Yin Yang actually told you that!!" Yun Luoβs eyes widened, dissatisfied. She was very upset. This meant Yin Yang valued Xu Mumu more than she had imagined.
"Whatβs there not to tell? Heβs told me everything, including his dislike for you." Xu Mumu smirked, unable to resist provoking Yun Luo, who came seeking trouble.
She never liked Yun Luo, especially as a romantic rival. The Yin Family and Yun Family had issues between them; they couldnβt possibly get along well.
Yun Luo wanting to marry Yin Yang was because the Yun Family initially tried to force Yin Yang to marry Yun Luo, just to annex the Yin Familyβs assets.
Yun Luo knew all this; she just wanted Yin Yang himself. Nothing else mattered to her. As the eldest daughter of the Yun Family, she could live freely even if Yin Yang married into her family.
"No, impossible, youβre lying." Yun Luoβs voice became sharp, looking venomously at Xu Mumu. She raised her hand, intending to slap her.
"Not planning to keep your hand?" Xu Mumu calmly raised her hand and grabbed Yun Luoβs hand. A slight force would certainly break Yun Luoβs thin arm.
