Married to the loveless CEO-Chapter 154: Selfish
Everyone’s gazes fixated on him.
Janet got closer to him and the sound of a slap was heard next.
"How dare you ask such a thing from our daughter? (SCOFFS) You’re truly a bastard to not see what’s truly wrong here. You’ve dictated my happiness for far too long and even our daughter’s- We traumatized her!" Tears started walking down her cheeks and even Silvia too was tearing up as well.
Were they finally having the closure that they cowardly couldn’t have all these years?
"What are you talking about woman? Do you really want our daughter to have a child out of wedlock and...and for that cheat," Alan continued.
"How can you be this shameless Alan?!" Janet yelled.
There was silence.
"It’s Silvia’s choice to decide that, not yours! Alan, we deprived our daughter of a happy home, it started with you but I’m not going to put all the blame on you because I know I’m at fault too at some point.
"Our daughter has been unhappy untill he came into her life and I don’t know why such things should happen now but all I know is that that man is a good man and he loves her, more than we did." Janet found herself pouring out her soul. She couldn’t even keep her stance anymore and sat on a chair as she cried.
Alan turned to Silvia, she was crying now too.
"I should go." Sentencia said and excused herself as she wanted to give them some privacy.
The words were truly sinking into Alan.
"I stopped cheating on you years ago Janet," he said.
Janet looked up at him with teary eyes, "Not early enough."
"I tried cheating on you Alan. But I couldn’t, I just couldn’t." Janet continued.
"You never cheated?" Alan asked and Janet shook her head.
"I thought you did," he responded.
Silvia too.
"I never did. But making you think I did was what finally made you stop-"
"Janet yes, I realized that... That I still loved you, I really do. But I couldn’t confront you about you cheating because I know I had lost all the rights to." Alan interrupted.
"And why I’m still here as your wife is because of Silvia and... And because I still have some little love left in here for you," Janet touched her chest. "But the damage on our daughter had already been made."
Alan walked towards Silvia. She has never seen her father this remorseful.
"Would you ever forgive me?" Alan asked.
Janet walked closer to them.
"Janet," he looked at her, "It’s my fault, all my fault. Can you ever forgive me?"
"Our family is like this because of me. Silvia... Silvia is... She’s been..." Alan swallowed bitterly in realization.
"I feel so ashamed of myself. I’ve been such a terrible father and husband." Alan continued.
Then Silvia hugged him.
"It’s okay dad." She said.
Alan held Janet’s hand, "I’m sorry."
...
After that moment of reconciliation, Alan finally asked;
"What do you want Silvia?"
There was silence until Silvia finally broke it.
"I want to keep it."

Davian just walked into his firm.
"What’s with all these gazes?" He asked with light chuckles.
Sarah walked towards him and hugged him.
"Hope you’re okay, man?" Lucas asked.
"Guys, I’m fine, okay? Just get back to work." Davian responded dryly.
There was no light in his eyes anymore. After the divorce, he took a break from work and was just resuming today.
He walked towards his office, his hands squeezed on his hair as he opened the door and walked in. He looked like a walking dead.
Becca felt a pang in her heart, Davian just nodded at her before he walked passed. This was what she wanted but Davian wasn’t himself anymore, and it was killing her. Is he ever going to recover? It’s been weeks! Is he ever going to get over Silvia.
She felt guilty. She instigated this, she did this to Davian.
She turned to looked at her colleagues, they all glared daggers at her before returning to their work. Of course they know the whole story. Were they still mad at her? Who wouldn’t be? She broke Davian, stole his happiness. Will she ever be able to live with that? She didn’t expect things to turn out like this.
The sound of things crashing and smashing got everyone on their toes. They rushed to Davian’s office to see that he had passed out. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶
"Davian... Davian..."
His eyes slowly began to open. The voices were in the background as the blurry images of faces hovering over him was all he could see.
"Let me take you home Davian, you need more rest." Ray crossed Davian’s hand over his shoulder and led him out of the office.

Becca just got off a taxi, she was in front of Davian’s penthouse. She had gotten some groceries and takeouts for Davian. She discovered he wasn’t eating regularly and could go for days without a proper meal or without even eating at all.
She pushed on the doorbell when she got to his apartment but there was no response. She decided to just type in the door passcode since she already knows it.
It opened and she walked in.
The apartment looked deserted. Was he in?
She went to the kitchen and dropped the things she brought. Hurriedly and a little worriedly, she rushed to his room to see that he was there.
He sat on the floor, back against his bed, eyes closed as he slept off after what seems as a while of drinking. A glass of whiskey was in his hand and the bottle of whiskey was closed to him.
Becca knelt down close to him and started crying silently.
All she ever wanted was his happiness. His happiness was her contentment but she has been a little selfish these weeks and if his happiness was the price for her selfishness, it wasn’t worth it because she wasn’t happy too.
She collected the glass of whiskey and the bottle of whiskey and kept it on top of one of the drawers.
"Becca..." Davian began to wake up. His hand rubbed on his temple.
"Why are you doing this to yourself Davian?" Becca questioned.
"(GROANS) What are you doing here?" He started getting up.
There was silence.
"(SIGHS) Just freshen up then come have a meal." Becca responded and walked out.
Davian soon joined her after freshening up. Becca was setting up the dinning table.
DING DONG! Went the doorbell.
Davian walked towards the door and opened. Surprise wash over his face when he saw Silvia’s mom.
"Mrs. Reyes?" He almost stuttered.
She smiled at him, "Can I come in?"
"Sure." Davian opened the door wider for her and she walked in.
He shut the door and offered her a seat.
She sat down but her eyes were fixated on Becca who stood in the room with them.
"You must be Becca," Janet started.
Becca nodded.
"I remember you." Janet recalled.
"And you’re the home wreaker." Janet added.
Becca couldn’t respond. She was the kind of person that had a lot to say but right now, she...she felt too ashamed to say anything.
"Can you give my son in law and I some privacy?" Janet told.
Becca just walked away.
"Sit Davian." Janet continued.
Davian sat. "What brought you here, Mrs. Reyes?"
"You’re already living with that woman? Silvia and you just got divorced weeks ago!" Janet chastised.
"She doesn’t live with me, she just have a habit of dropping by." Davian replied.
"And you let her?" Janet questioned.
Davian looked away, "I’m not going to get married to her. I don’t love her, I know who I love and I know you do too. But she’s the mother of my unborn child and I just have to get use to her no matter the circumstances."
There was silence.
"Silvia’s leaving, Davian. She’s leaving with your unborn child."
