Chapter 43: Speechless

The extreme pain felt on her arm was excruciating and felt like broken cracks fixing back together.

She held her breath not wanting to make a sound when she heard, "I did hear her voice sometime ago, had to ignore."

It was Cyrus.

"It is still very surprising to me, letting Esteban take her and even pull her hair like that?"

"That is not her body, you know that."

"So this means she has a plan? Which is why she let him take her to Fireria?"

"No, she just wanted to get a full view of the fire mage, she must have been back at the mansion by now."

"She possessed a human, went through all that trouble just to get a full view of your parrot?!"

"Go away, take care of the visitors."

"Yes, you should rest."

She then heard the sound of the door slamming.

"Do you still feel pain?" Cyrus suddenly asked.

Wait! Was he aware that she was awake?

Sage let out a long sigh, not knowing why she was surprised by Cyrus.

"Why are you asking?" She asked, slowly opening her eyes to see Cyrus in his normal state, looking gorgeous as usual, standing with his hands in his pockets.

It was late at night and she was back in Cyrus’ room, which was still cool. It was quite depressing.

His eyes were fixed on her, glistening with strange emotions.

"Answer," he hissed.

Sage frowned at him and sat down, pushing the drape over her body. She touched her stomach and felt no pain. Her eyes widened and she pressed her stomach repeatedly before shifting her gaze to her arm to see that it wasn’t burnt like before.

Her wounds were healed! She wasn’t dead!

She vigorously searched her body and stiffly turned her gaze to Cyrus, whose eyebrows were raised in surprise at her reaction.

"How.."

"I told you I can heal to some extent." He interrupted her and walked towards the bed, unexpectedly leaning in close to her.

"There is no scar on your body." He whispered and held her wrist, staring at her palm. "Except that one," he added, referring to the scar on her palm.

Sage swallowed hard and jerked her hand away.

"Stay away..." She paused and took a deep breath. "How long have I been unconscious?" She enquired.

"A full day," Cyrus replied casually, moving his face away and sitting comfortably on the bed next to her.

Sage inhaled deeply once more, closed her eyes, and clutched her stomach.

She remembered the pain she felt from the sword that passed through her, the sword held by her own father.

"Farewell, my dear Sage," His voice echoed in her head, followed by the scene in which Cyrus ripped his head off his body.

She gasped, her eyes wide open. "Tell me everything." Her voice was trembling.

"Not possible." Cyrus responds solemnly.

Sage frowned deeply at him. "And why is that? My home has been destroyed! My father attempted to kill me! You! You killed him!" She yelled at him and moved away, wanting to leave the bed, but he grabbed her wrist and pulled her back to fall on him.

Sage gasped as his arm wrapped around his waist. She was sitting on his laps, holding her breath, his eyes boring into hers as if searching for her soul.

"You are beautiful, no sign of hatred in your eyes, you are not angry that I killed him, you are only angry that he tried to kill you." Cyrus spoke softly.

He was correct; she was angry with her father, not with him. She stabbed her, and he bid her farewell... He attempted to kill her.

Cyrus tilted his head to the side as tears welled up in her eyes. "Do you no longer despise me?" He inquired, and his eyes immediately glowed with silver.

Sage was lost for a while.

She could see longing in his eyes as they slowly revealed their emotions.

"What are you saying?" She stuttered, unsure what was going on.

She was supposed to be mourning her kingdom and asking him questions, but his gaze and the current atmosphere made her forget everything.

She wasn’t feeling lust or weakness, but she felt like he should hold her forever in his arms.

"What!" She exclaimed quietly and touched her neck, only to discover that the mark was still there.

"Not the mark," Cyrus said quietly as she wiped a tear from her cheek.

"Don’t think about anything that will make you cry; I will tell you everything, but slowly, I promise." Cyrus spoke soothingly, causing Sage to blink rapidly in surprise.

"Am I dreaming?" She inquired unexpectedly.

"What?" Cyrus appeared befuddled!

Sage placed her hand on his cheek and squeezed her face with confusion. "You are acting strangely, Cyrus Dragos," she had to say.

Cyrus put his hand on her cheek, causing her eyes to widen in surprise. "In two days," he announced abruptly.

"What?" Sage inquired, perplexed.

"We will go on a trip." He revealed himself and pulled her hand away from his face.

Sage looked at him in awe, while he looked at her with a calm expression, not cold or bored like before.

"What is going on?" She asked aloud.

Cyrus’ lips twitched and he leaned in close to her, eliciting a gasp from her. "Dear parrot, you have no reason to kill me anymore, but I do, a big reason, but until then, I’d like us to restart." Sage’s eyes twitched as he said this.

"W..what?" She couldn’t believe her ears. She had never felt more perplexed in her life!

Just the other day, she was watching her kingdom crumble in front of her eyes, her father tried to kill her, and Esteban...

"I want your mind to be filled with me and only me, my dear parrot," Cyrus interrupted her thoughts. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖

Sage frowned. "I don’t have time for all of this; I want to ask my questions, and you must answer them right now!" She screamed.

Cyrus’ eyes morphed into a silver reptile-like form. "How do I make you feel?" He asked abruptly, his voice huskier, sending goosebumps up Sage’s spine.

"Wh..at?" Sage’s voice was trembling.

"You don’t resent me anymore." He responded calmly.

"Not at this exact moment, Cyrus Dragos," he said strangely. She wished she could read minds so she could figure out what was going on in his mind.

"How do I make you feel at this exact moment?" He asked, his voice deep and seductive, making her heart reach her throat.

"N... nothing." she stuttered.

He was messing with her mind! She had to be tough!

"No! No! No! I do not know what is wrong with you but you are not going to remove my mind on what was more Im.."

When Cyrus’ lips crashed on hers, her mind went blank. He caught her lower lip, sucked, and nipped it, completely making her brain malfunction.

Sage didn’t fight it; how could she when his lips tasted like an addictive drug? His kiss was aggressive and driving her insane. Just as she was about to return the kiss, he pulled away and asked, seductively,

"How do I make you feel at this exact moment, parrot?"

"Speechless." Sage replied breathlessly.
