Chapter 152: The demon’s toy?

While Stefan escorted Sage out of the castle, Ashton went for a walk with Mirabella in the castle’s garden.

The wind was cold, and the air around Mirabella was tense as her mind replayed the moment Ashton kissed Stefan on the lips.

She came to a halt, frowning deeply and wondering why that scene had enraged her.

What caused her distress?

When Ashton noticed this, he smiled mischievously, turned around, and leaned in close to her. "Are you jealous of me, little Mira?" Mirabella’s eyes widened in surprise as he asked teasingly.

"Mira, little Mira? It has been a long time since you called me that." Mirabella was agitated.

"You were so small." Ashton laughed. "Are you jealous?" He inquired once more.

"What is the point? And why have you brought me here?" Mirabella scoffingly asked, letting out a deep sigh.

"Because you enjoy my company." She gasped as Ashton whispered. "Accept it, Mira," he said slowly.

"There is nothing to admit; you are squandering your time..." She squinted her eyes and turned her gaze to the direction of the sound when she was interrupted by a loud crumpling sound. "What was that?" Mirabella inquired, taking slow steps towards the direction of the sound.

Ashton smirked and trailed after her.

As they entered the garden, they came across a large tree made entirely of crystal sapphire ice. It sparkled in the dim light of day, making it unusual and appealing.

Mirabella gasped and dashed to the back of the tree, where she discovered a familiar black furry ball sleeping on the soft cold piled up snow behind the tree.

"So this is where you are." With a satisfied smile, Ashton said to a fox.

"He is also in his dark state... I am sure he is furious with Cyrus." Mirabella spoke slowly.

"As enraged as the River." Ashton chuckled.

Mirabella shifted her gaze to Ashton and frowned deeply, crossing her arms across her chest. "You did not react to his absurd action of killing his normal state." She snarled.

"Seeing Snow refreshed your memory, how nice," Ashton remarked sarcastically. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺

"You are making a joke about it? Aside from his dark state, he has some of the blood of the second prince of hell in his body, which can cause him to act like a dragon with a dark heart when triggered harshly!" Mirabella screamed angrily, arousing the nine-tailed fox, whose eyes widened and narrowed at her.

"Hello there, cutie," Ashton said to the disgruntled nine-tailed fox. "You see what you have done; you have roused his bundle of joy from his slumber." He told Mirabella, pretending to feel sorry for the fox, who now appeared unconcerned.

Mirabella shook her head in disbelief as she stared at the demon. "Do you really care about the damage that will be done?" She inquired.

"He is no longer a child, and neither are you, Mirabella," Ashton said with a deep growl and solemn expression. "Do you think I am going to put him in a portal dungeon or something?" Ashton scoffed and asked.

"I brought you here to ask you a question, but you have completely sucked the joy out of me." Ashton looked disappointed as he spoke, then walked away from Mirabella, leaving her speechless.

She stiffly turned to face the nine-tailed fox, who had returned to his sleeping position and was deep in his slumber.

....

"Are you sure you do not want to take Ava with you or a carriage?" Stefan inquired of Sage, who was faintly smiling and staring at Arthur, who was speaking and petting the horses of the carriage in front of which they were standing.

"I am thinking about taking a carriage, but I do nit want Ava to get in trouble." Sage told him and smiled confidently at him.

"All right," Stefan said, patting her on the head.

"Wish me luck," Sage said, laughing.

"Best wishes." Stefan gave her a friendly smile.

"Good day, I heard everything." As he approached them, Arthur waved at them. "Prince River has reserved the carriage, but he won’t arrive for another two hours, so we can leave before he notices." He told them and laughed.

Sage gave him a friendly smile. "Angering prince River? I am in." She laughed and walked over to the carriage, where she immediately entered.

"I see that you and Sage have a good sibling relationship now. It’s heartwarming and moving." He said, dramatically smiling.

"You are a really nosey." Stefan laughed at him.

"I also packed food and water because the trip to the border will take four days. We will fly there if she gets tired." Arthur excitedly told him and tapped his shoulder.

Stefan nodded slowly, and Arthur walked over to the carriage and climbed aboard.

"Righteous lord Stefan," Ashton growled from behind him.

Stefan turned to face Ashton as the horses neighed and the carriage drove away from the castle grounds.

"I am sure you’re overjoyed that Cyrus’ parrot has accepted you." With a small smile, Ashton said.

"It was unnecessary to kiss me earlier." Stefan snarled.

"Unnecessary? Why is it unnecessary? Was it too brief? If you want, I can make it a deeper, longer, and more memorable kiss for you." Ashton spoke to him solemnly and solemnly.

"Did you ask my permission before kissing me?" Stefan asked, his brow furrowed. "I am not your toy, Ashton Petrov," Stefan sneered as he walked past Ashton, but Ashton grabbed his arm and stopped him in his tracks.

"I didn’t say you were my toy, did I?" Ashton inquired of Stefan, who let out a frustrated sigh.

"Let go of me." Stefan yanked his arm away and walked into the castle.

Ashton laughed and looked in the direction the carriage had vanished. "You do not want to say goodbye? I am also going to the border because I do not trust Cyrus being alone with the fire mage, and there will be a lot of drama there. Sweet, delicious, spicy hot drama." He said this while rubbing his palms together in anticipation.

"Unfortunately," River, who appeared out of nowhere, grumbled as he stood next to the grinning demon.
