Married To The Last Ice Dragon-Chapter 141: Dream or reality
When Cyrus returned to the castle with Sage in his arms, he flew to the balcony and stood on the railing, allowing his wind to rest comfortably.
He hadn’t released his wings and transformed into his dragon form in a long time.
He was almost rusty.
"I will find a way to stay in my dragon form for a while." He shrugged and muttered to himself.
His blue slit eyes twinkled darkly, narrowing as he watched the white curtains that covered a portion of the balcony move.
"Snow?" He called out and jumped off the railing, clutching Sage tightly, his wings vanished.
His nine-tailed fox was not present, but someone was.
When he entered the room, he went straight to the bed and gently placed Sage on it. His gaze was drawn to her blood-stained dress and face.
He cocked his head to the side and smiled menacingly.
"Wasting your tears for me? How touching." He chuckled and turned away, raking his fingers through his hair. "I almost went back to hell," he added quietly, turning his gaze to the fire place, which cast a shadow on the ground.
Cyrus rolled his eyes, removed his coat, and sat on the bed when he realized it was a woman’s shadow.
The white fabric was completely soaked in blood, and a torn showing that a dagger had been pierced there was visible on his chest, where his heart was located.
"You are reckless as usual!" Cyrus narrowed his eyes as Aurora’s voice thundered through the room.
"Do not lecture me; I am not going to listen to you, and you know that." He spoke casually and took off his shirt, tossing it aside.
His chest was bloodstained, but there was no sign of injury on his gleaming pale skin.
"Venus and Ares are guarding the mansion, but you are wasting your shattered soul here." Cyrus stood up and added a low growl of displeasure.
"I want my son back now!" Aurora yelled angrily. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
"I am your son." Cyrus said blankly as he walked towards the shadow, his feet close to the head, looking down on it. "And you are my mother, aren’t you?" He muttered and chewed his lower lip.
"You have done the unthinkable, Cyrus!" Aurora exclaimed in disbelief.
"It is not incomprehensible, mother; you are free to say it." Cyrus smirked. "Now hurry, I do not want to lose my dear mother, not now, not ever." He added with a flat tone.
"Cyrus..."
"You are aware of your miserable situation, mother!" Cyrus cut her off by raising his voice harshly.
"You may have an eternally frozen heart, but you still care for your mother, and I am grateful for that." Aurora spoke with a sniff, sounding emotional.
Cyrus rolled his eyes. "Go now! Mother!" He yelled.
Aurora laughed, and the shadow vanished.
Cyrus let out a long sigh and chewed his lower lip as he returned his gaze to the bed where he had laid Sage. "Arrogant parrot, do you want me to make your life a living hell?" He asked, taking slow steps towards the bed, then climbing on it, hovering over her and resting his fingers on her neck, which had red marks revealing that Jestia had a strong grip on her neck earlier.
Cyrus hummed, caressing his fingers on her neck, and dark green smoke began to evaporate from her neck, disappearing into his fingers.
Sage’s lips trembled and she let out a deep gasp, grabbing Cyrus’ wrist with both her hands, making Cyrus’ eyes sharpen dangerously at her.
"You told me not to leave you." She mumbled something. "Please do not leave me..."
She was no longer awake, and her words caused Cyrus’ lips to twitch. "The difference is that I have no feelings for you, arrogant parrot, and you should not expect anything from me." He hissed loudly.
He wanted to jerk his hand away from hers, but she grabbed his wrist tightly and pulled his hand towards her face, resting his cold palm on her cheek.
"Please stay with me." Cyrus’ eyes widened as she mumbled and her lips curved into a smile.
His eyes dimmed, glimmering darkly, and he caused the temperature of his hand to drop dramatically, capable of freezing her to death.
Was she dreaming?
He noticed her voice was filled with extreme pain and regret, but he felt no pity for her.
He didn’t see her as his wife, but rather as a pawn to be used and then discarded.
His normal state was doing well until he decided to fall in love with the fire mage, which disgusted his dark state.
Cyrus frowned, realizing that his frozen heart could only emit extreme negative emotions.
"Wake up." He hissed coldly, and Sage, sensing the extreme coldness on her cheek, released his wrist and pushed his hand away.
What had happened earlier flashed through her mind. Cyrus’ placing a dagger in her hand and controlling her hand to stab him directly in the heart caused her to scream and open her eyes to meet dark blue slit ones.
’Is this a dream?’ Sage enquired in her thoughts, certain that Cyrus had died.
He forced her to kill him!
But why was he here, in his dark state?
It had to be a dream, but she didn’t care whether it was a dream or reality any longer.
He was in his dark state, and fear and confusion flooded her soul.
He noticed she wasn’t blinking, even though he could see fear and confusion in her emerald eyes.
What was she thinking?
He cocked his head to the side, not looking away from those emerald eyes, which were filled with fear and were slowly filling with tears.
Was she about to cry?
Cyrus scoffed and tried to move away from her, but Sage wrapped her arms around his neck and crashed her lips on his, causing his eyes to widen in surprise.
She dug her fingers into his neck and aggressively kissed him while he froze in shock, his entire body becoming hot and his mind completely blank.
He parted his lips to speak, but Sage thrust her tongue into his mouth and blew hot air into his mouth, eliciting a deep low groan from Cyrus, who found himself returning the kiss.
