Married To The Last Ice Dragon-Chapter 124: The wrath of the fire mage 2
"He was looking at the halfling with so much emotions. What was so interesting about the halfling at that moment? I mean he was unconscious and blood was pouring from his forehead, he wasn’t naked or something," Ashton blabbered his frustration to Cyrus who had a blank expression while staring at Sage’s painting on the wall.
The painting of her looking extremely fierce, her eyes fiery red, her hair swaying, fire surrounding her, and she was dressed in golden armour.
He and Ashton were at the abandoned wing of the castle and Ashton’s voice sounded like a fading whisper as Cyrus’ focus was on the paintings of his wife.
His lips twitched. "What a beautiful work of art." He muttered making Ashton who had being blabbering realize that Cyrus had not heard a word he said.
"What?!" Ashton exclaimed and wanted to scream but restrained himself when his gaze was drawn to Cyrus’ hair and he saw the tips completely black and suddenly, half of his hair was completely black.
Ashton let out a yell. "Your dark state!"
"I know, ignore it." Cyrus stated as he was unconcerned.
"Do not act as if you are not concerned; you are very concerned, afraid that you will hurt her." Ashton scoffed, crossing his arms across his chest.
"I told her to read the scrolls to take her mind off the drama that happened earlier, and you didn’t have to break that halfling’s head." Cyrus finished his sentence with a chuckle and rolled his eyes.
"It was barely a punch." Ashton scoffed.
Cyrus hummed and nodded.
As he blinked, all he saw was fire in the supposed darkness, and in that fire, Sage lay unconscious on the ground.
His heart literally skipped a beat, causing him to groan in agony.
"CYRUS!" Sage’s voice rang out loud and clear in his head.
His silver reptile-like eyes flew open, revealing his fear.
Cyrus dashed away, not thinking about anyone but his wife, and arrived at the room in no time, kicking open the door, which broke in two and fell to the ground.
His gaze was drawn to Sage, who was completely engulfed in flames and unconscious on the floor, while Snowflake sat on the bed, staring at her unblinkingly.
"Wait, what happened?" Cyrus growled at the nine-tailed fox as he rushed over to Sage and took her into his arms.
He felt his hands burn the moment he touched her, but he ignored the pain and didn’t drop her.
Snowflake jumped off the bed as Cyrus approached it.
"The fire isn’t burning her clothes or mine, but it is causing excruciating pain." Cyrus grunted as he gently placed Sage on the bed.
He placed his fingers on her brow, hissing in pain, and ran his fingers through her hair, which felt like he was holding melting magma.
He removed his hands and examined his fingers, which showed no signs of burns but were extremely painful.
His silver eyes instantly transformed into blue slits, but when he blinked, they returned to silver.
His fingers glowed faintly as he placed them lightly on Sage’s brow, breathing slowly in the hope that she would awaken.
His heart was racing because he was terrified of losing her at that moment.
The sensation was strange, but he welcomed it, feeling his heart skip beats several times until he decided to hold his breath so he wouldn’t collapse.
The fire around her went out, and the burning pain went away.
Sage’s lips parted as she gasped, and her fiery red eyes shot open.
"Cyrus.."
Cyrus cut her by pulling her up and tightly hugging her with his eyes closed.
"Do not do that again." He told her fearfully, hugging her tightly.
Sage smiled faintly as she returned the hug. "I have no idea what happened." He stuttered weakly.
Cyrus felt her back was hot through her clothes and, without hesitation, tore the back of her dress, causing Sage to gasp in surprise.
There was a mark...
He unhooked her bra to reveal the large mark, which appeared to be a branded mark.
It was a fresh image of a fire.
Through his teeth, Cyrus growled. "What on earth happened?" He asked, clearly annoyed.
"W..what?" Sage was perplexed.
Cyrus gritted his teeth and caressed his cold fingers on the mark before shifting his gaze to the open empty scroll with strange writing on the side.
"The fire mage’s wrath." He read in hushed tones, his eyes darkening and the black part of his hair growing longer.
Sage sensed Cyrus’ rage, which she found odd. Grabbing his hair, her eyes widened as she saw the lower part of his hair turn completely black, and she nearly screamed as she watched it grow higher.
"Cyrus," she called slowly, and he abruptly broke the hug, kissed her lips, and pulled away.
Sage noticed darkness in those eyes as he mumbled, "I am sorry." Then he flicked her head, causing darkness to swallow her.
Cyrus placed her gently on the bed, covered her with a blanket, and stood up, growling in frustration.
"I can not believe this is happening!" Cyrus yelled angrily.
Cyrus had chosen the scrolls himself, and he knew everything he owned.
He was certain that he did not possess The WRATH OF THE FIRE MAGE scroll.
Cyrus fixed his gaze on the nine-tailed fox. "Who came in here?!" He yelled.
What had happened to Sage was not supposed to happen.
He was enraged when his nine-tailed fox did not respond. He clenched his fists, turned away, and stormed out.
He arrived in front of a room’s door and kicked it open, revealing a shirtless River and a sleepy Katherine wrapped in a blanket.
Something had happened, as evidenced by their messy hair.
River scowled. "I understand that it is your castle, but..."
"Tell the water mage to meet me in the throne room in five minutes, or else I will slaughter her right in front of you." Cyrus made a firm threat.
River’s eyes sharpened as they morphed into their gold reptile form. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
He wanted to say something but held back when Cyrus’ eyes flashed with their blue slit form.
"All right," River said calmly, and Cyrus turned away.
River noticed that the lower part of Cyrus’ hair was completely black. "Badnews," he grumbled as Cyrus walked away from him.
