Married To The Last Ice Dragon-Chapter 118: Grand breakfast 1
"I do not think this is necessary, Sage." As Sage focused on brushing Katherine’s hair, she commented while looking at her beautiful reflection.
Katherine was taken to a different room, and Ava was summoned to look after her and dress her up while Sage chose a gown for her.
Sage decided to take care of Katherine’s hair after Ava finished dressing her.
"About the breakfast?" Sage inquired.
"No, about you brushing my hair, especially since you are the queen." Katherine spoke politely.
Sage smiled and set the brush down on the table after finishing brushing Katherine’s hair.
"It does not matter because you are my friend; do not be so formal with me; it feels strange." Sage laughed as she told her.
Katherine gave a nod. "Okay, then." She then rose to her feet and faced Sage. "I am hungry, and I want to eat now." With a small groan, she added.
"The peach dress looks great on you." Sage gave her a friendly smile.
"Thank you," Katherine giggled and Sage stared at her smiling as she had missed her friend’s company so much.
Katherine felt her stomach rumbling. "Come on Sage," She groaned as she drew Sage by the arm and led her out of the room.
Arriving at the large and beautifully decorated dining room occupied by Cyrus, River, Ashton, the lords including Stefan, Charlotte, and the Soldan twins.
Except for Cyrus, whose mind seemed to be elsewhere when Sage and Katherine entered, all attention was drawn to them.
Sage didn’t notice Cyrus because her attention was drawn to the steaming delicious-looking dishes.
She hadn’t eaten dinner, so she was ravenous, and her hunger was exacerbated by the sight of all the food.
She looked at Cyrus, and their eyes met, causing her to smile stiffly due to hunger.
Cyrus nodded, motioning for her to take a seat next to his, and she looked at Katherine, who had a firm grip on her arm.
"Who is she? Another mage?" Bronx inquired, referring to Katherine.
"Yes, you make it sound like an insult, Lord Bronx," Sage said, frowning.
"Calm down, Sage," Katherine said quietly as she looked at Sage, then let go of her arm and took a seat next to River.
Sage glared at Bronx before taking a seat next to Cyrus, and Cyrus immediately began serving her food, signaling the others to begin eating.
Stefan raised his eyebrows as he watched Cyrus serve his sister’s food. "You know, your Majesty, she can serve herself because she clearly has hands and does not require your assistance." He spoke calmly, but his displeasure was obvious.
Mirabella rolled her eyes, and Ashton smiled, anticipating the drama.
"I am aware," Cyrus said dully as he finished serving Sage, who was becoming tense as a result of the bad tension between Cyrus and Stefan.
She was in the middle of them, hoping that a fight would not break out.
"If you are aware, why do you serve her?" Stefan inquired, a spoon of food in his mouth. "She is not a child." He mumbled.
"That tongue should be severed." Ashton laughed as he put a spoon of food in his mouth.
"It is clear that Lord Stefan despises his Majesty," Marius sighed and shook his head.
"Why can’t this be a peaceful breakfast?" Mirabella inquired, frustrated.
"It is not possible, lady Mirabella," River chuckled, his gaze fixed on his food.
"You can not deny I am telling you the truth." Stefan scoffed and stuffed another spoon of food into his mouth.
"A ridiculous and unnecessary truth designed to ruin this once in a lifetime meal." Ashton expressed his displeasure by shaking his head.
"As the elder in this room..."
"Shhhh! Charlotte, you are not the elder here." Ashton pronounced Charlotte’s name angrily, and she was offended by his tone.
Cyrus hummed and began feeding Sage the dishes, and she ate happily while avoiding his gaze due to the bad tension in the air.
Cyrus didn’t like it when she avoided his gaze. Even though her lips were parted, he squinted his eyes as he rubbed the spoon against her lower lip.
"Parrot, smile and advise your dear brother." He whispered and spooned the food into her mouth.
Cyrus’s use of the word "brother" caused Katherine to choke.
She coughed loudly, but River was quick to offer her a cup of water, which she quickly drank while holding her breath and narrowing her eyes at Stefan, who looked at her with his eyebrows raised.
His eyes were identical to Sage’s, but it was still unbelievable to her.
She looked at Sage, then at River, who placed his hand on hers to calm her down, and she nodded deeply.
"Look at me." Cyrus addressed Sage, who was fiddling with her fingers.
Everyone was staring at the couple, and Sage turned to look at Cyrus, who shook his head and shot a murderous glare at Stefan, who shrugged, intimidated by Cyrus.
"Behave yourself, Stefan," Cyrus said calmly.
Stefan frowned deeply, slammed his hands on the table, and stood up. "How can I behave when you are clearly death? You are going to kill my sister and you expect me to embrace you?!" He yelled, and Cyrus’ eyes morphed into their silver reptile-like form, sharpening with murderous intent.
Sage, feeling intense emotions, wanted to stand up and leave the table, but Cyrus grabbed her wrist beneath the table and inhaled deeply to control his anger, which would lead to him seeing Sage’s tears.
The lords, Charlotte, Isabella, and Katherine were shocked, while Mirabella and River were intrigued.
Stefan was enraged and closed his eyes. "You have no idea how it f..."
"Be quiet, you are talking too much." Ashton snarled at him.
Stefan opened his eyes and glared at the demon, who winked at him and laughed, causing him to lose focus.
"I just wanted a nice, big breakfast. Please, Stefan, do not ruin it, and you must accept that Cyrus is my husband; you do not know how I want to live my life, so do not get involved for our sake if you want me to accept our relationship as siblings." Sage spoke softly and closed her eyes.
Her words made Stefan’s blood boil, and he glared at Cyrus, who was now staring at Sage, who had her head bowed.
"You!" He pointed to Cyrus. "What did you do to her?" He yelled, and Cyrus looked at him.
"All right," River groaned and stood up. "Enough," his eyes morphed into their gold reptile form.
"Nice." Ashton laughed.
"Oh my!" Mirabella exclaimed, shaking her head in disbelief.
"This is undeniably entertaining." Marius chuckled.
"Exactly!" Ashton exclaimed excitedly at the lord.
Sage yanked her hand away from Cyrus’ grip, striking her hand in the process. She kept from screaming, but her eyes welled up with tears as she stood up and ran out of the dining room without looking back.
"Sage!" Katherine called with a gasp, stood up and ran after Sage hurriedly while Stefan let out a deep breath and sat back on the chair digging his fingers into his hair in frustration and confusion.
"Pathetic." Cyrus growled at Stefan still controlling his building rage that was capable of killing the lord if he unleashed it.
