Chapter 102: Done

Lianna became the queen of Credia, ruling alongside Dexter and Julius who were her second in command.

Truthfully, she was a great leader, but she destroyed all of the mages’ books, spells, and information.

When she discovered that there were so many ancient important books missing, she realised that the Statkus mages must have stolen them prior to the war.

Lianna and Dexter married a few years later and had two children.

Soon after, humans in Credia began conceiving mages, which was highly unlikely, but it was still possible because Credia was soon flooded with mages again.

Due to their lack of knowledge about the elders who had died, the mages relied mostly on the elements they could control, and without strong guidance, they all lived the normal human lifespan.

Mages can actually live as long as dragons, but only with powerful guidance.

Lianna was sleeping one night when she felt pain in her chest, causing her to scream loudly in pain and open her eyes.

"The portal!" She gasped in surprise, realising that the Statkus portal that Genevieve had sealed had suddenly opened and had returned to the snow-covered desert.

Cackles and raspy laughter could be heard echoing, and Lianna’s chest creased, causing her to scream in agony.

***********************************************

Sage screamed in agony, feeling the same agony Lianna did.

She jerked her arm away from Lianna’s gasping for air and feeling dizzy, she loosed her balance.

Cyrus, who had witnessed everything Lianna had shown her, immediately caught her from falling.

"Foolish mage," Cyrus grumbled as he carried her into his arms.

Sage was exhausted and emotional after seeing that flashback.

She buried her face in Cyrus’ chest, tears streaming down her cheeks. "Take me away from here, I do not want to see her. I am going to kill her!" Her scream was muffled.

Cyrus glared murderously at Lianna, who was trembling sickly and smiling shakily.

"Your mother deserved to be killed. She was so desperate for protection for her precious daughter that she obeyed every command I gave her. You were born to be used, and we had to convince you that Julius was your father and that I was his sister, but those fools had their own ulterior motives, which was to join forces with the dragons. I poisoned her with Sumera gradually, and she died, giving the impression that the extreme cold of winter killed her." Lianna burst out laughing, wiping away the tears that streamed down her cheeks. "To tell you the truth, I never saw her dead body, which is why there was no burial ceremony for her. But, like her, you are easily deceived."

Sage was enraged by Lianna’s words, so Cyrus placed her on her feet and crossed his arms across his chest.

Sage clenched her fist, and raging flames bursted out, her eyes turned sharp and fiery red.

"You filthy creature! You allowed jealousy to blind you, and everything you have done has landed you nowhere but in this dungeon, filthy like your heart!" Sage directed the fire blast at Lianna, who screamed and moved away as the cell bars melted.

Sage intimidated Lianna, and for a split second, she thought she saw Genevieve.

Lianna’s legs trembled and eventually gave out, causing her to collapse to the ground.

Sage calmed down when she realised something was wrong, the fire on her hands vanished, and she looked curious.

Cyrus had a big smile on his face as he looked at Lianna, and Sage was stunned.

"Why are you smiling like that?" Perplexed, she asked.

"Because she will turn to them." Cyrus responded and approached her, wrapping his arms around her waist.

"What?" Sage’s eyes widened, and her gaze was drawn to Lianna, who was now grunting and panting.

Loud cracks were heard coming from her, sounding like bones being crushed, and the more the crack sound was heard, the more she screamed in excruciating pain.

"Interesting," Cyrus chuckled, drawing Sage closer to him.

Sage gasped in surprise when Lianna’s hair suddenly fell out.

Lianna screamed in terror as her skin began to dry out, resembling a rotten corpse, and her eyes went completely dark.

She stood up shakily, breathing heavily, and extended her hands to Sage.

"Do not visit the Statkus portal! They will destroy everything and everyone in this world once they have you!" Her tone was raspy and strained.

Sage couldn’t believe her eyes, and Cyrus’ smile only grew wider.

His hand around her waist rested on her stomach, and he sighed deeply.

"Why are you warning me?!" Sage screamed at Lianna, who had transformed into a Statkus mage.

"Because I have come to regret everything I have done! If only I could go back in time!" Lianna let out an emotional scream.

"You can," Cyrus mockingly said.

"But, mother told me to find the portal." Sage told Lianna, who looked at her with dead eyes.

"The sea of blood?" Lianna inquired, growling. "Do not obey her!"

Sage frowned. "I do not believe you!" Lianna gave her a creepy smile as she growled.

"I know you want to kill me, Sage. I would rather die in your hands than in the hands of that wretched ice dragon." She spat.

"Wretched?" Cyrus asked, mockingly.

Sage inhaled deeply and closed her eyes as Cyrus abruptly released her, saying, "You are free to kill her."

Sage’s heart was heavy. She pondered what she would have done if she had been in Lianna’s shoes all those years ago.

She wanted to pity Lianna, but Lianna was still the one who murdered her mother and was also responsible for the siege of all the elder mage.

Sage was hesitant aa her head was beginning to hurt and she needed to rest in order to process everything Lianna had shown her.

"You do it." She muttered and turned away, desperate to escape the dungeon.

"I told you to kill me!!!" Lianna screamed so loudly that everyone in the castle heard her, and as she screamed, she blasted a powerful force of dark green light at Sage, who immediately dodged the attack, as did Cyrus.

Sage turned to Lianna with a fire whip in her hand, whipping Lianna’s head off her body.

"Done..." She let out a trembling scream, feeling lightheaded once more, before darkness swallowed her.
