Married First, Loved Later : A Flash Marriage with My Ex's 'Uncle'-Chapter 347: The Ugly Truth Revealed
Chapter 347: The Ugly Truth Revealed
Selina was honestly shocked sometimes by how thick Angelica’s skin could be.
Luke was stunned. "No way, no way—some people really have zero shame, huh? You really think Logan wants you to have that baby because he cares? Girl, he needs you to have it so he can prove it’s not his!"
Angelica said weakly, "Forget it. I know you’re upset, but facts are facts. My child will be his firstborn, his heir. We’re all women—I understand how you feel."
Like she was being the bigger person or something.
Luke scoffed. "Oh, spare me. Don’t drag the entire female population down with you. Are you even a woman? I don’t think you qualify as human. Has Logan ever even looked at you like that? When are you gonna stop hallucinating? Look, I get it—you want to be the mistress, fine. But lying to yourself? That’s just sad."
Aunt Morris sneered. "Since when can some nobody talk to our Angelica like that? Mr. Reid clearly—"
Luke cut in, unfazed by the crowd. "Oh hey, if it isn’t Mrs. Morris! I didn’t recognize you at first—my bad, really. I always assumed you were in your thirties. Didn’t expect a face that’s pushing sixty. Must be my poor eyesight."
Aunt Morris was livid. "You—you—!"
Angelica, irritated with Luke, bit her lip and turned to Selina. "Selina, do we really need to cause a scene? It’s not good for either of us."
Luke jumped in. "Oh, I think it’s fine. You know, scenes just highlight whoever’s the most shameless. Angelica seems pretty self-aware—respect."
Angelica’s face twisted—she knew that jab was aimed at her.
Aunt Morris charged in. "How dare you blame Angelica! She hasn’t eaten or slept in days! Selina, if you had a shred of decency, you’d file for divorce already!"
Selina casually tucked her hair behind her ear and said lazily, "You’re really something, Mrs. Morris. I heard a little celeb’s been all over your husband lately? On her behalf—thank you. Following your logic, if someone likes your husband, you should just step aside, right?"
The whole place fell silent.
Aunt Morris’s chest heaved. Her face twisted with fury, fingers trembling as she pointed at Selina, about to lose her mind.
Angelica stepped up, putting on an innocent act. "Selina, whatever beef there is, it’s between us. Don’t take it out on others."
She leaned in close, whispering by Selina’s ear:
"Sweet Selina, I’m saying this for your own good. Just divorce him, or what happened four years ago... might happen again."
Selina’s head snapped up.
Angelica’s face twisted in a cruel smile. "I really didn’t want to kill you, you know. But you just wouldn’t get out of my way. I used a knife on your neck—it was so dull, I had to slice and slice just to hit your artery. You were trembling all over, couldn’t even scream, blood was everywhere..." freёweɓnovel_com
"I actually felt bad for you. But if you won’t back off..."
Suddenly, Angelica gasped, stumbled back, and switched back into her helpless act. "Selina, please don’t yell at me. I’m sorry—I shouldn’t have fallen for Logan. It’s all my fault..."
"Selina, what are you doing?!"
"Oh my God, she’s pregnant! How can you go after a pregnant woman? You psycho, go die!"
"She’s trying to kill her! Call the cops, now!"
Selina’s eyes turned cold. Here we go again.
Angelica had learned well from Katie—cry a little, act weak, and suddenly she’s the victim.
Aunt Morris was screaming now, "Where are the guards?! Get this woman out of here! And you! The first one to slap her gets 100,000 bucks!"
The security guards looked at each other, hesitant to act—until Aunt Morris promised a cash reward. Then someone finally gave in.
"Selina!" Luke rushed forward. "Angelica, this is my restaurant. Who the hell are you to throw her out?"
Angelica’s eyes flickered. Aunt Morris stepped in smoothly, "It’s just a tiny restaurant. The Morris Group can buy out a hundred of these if we wanted. Young Master Luke, take a hint. You’re a worthless heir without rights. If we wanted to ruin you, it’d be effortless."
Luke looked like he was about to bite someone, but Selina caught his wrist. "You really want me to leave?"
Angelica gave Selina a smug glance. "Selina, the outcome is already decided. No one here wants you. Isn’t it humiliating to keep standing around? And now you’ve dragged Young Master Luke into this—don’t you feel the slightest bit guilty?"
Aunt Morris lit up, "Drag Selina out! Let everyone see what happens when you try to steal someone’s husband!"
Angelica smiled in satisfaction.
Selina being thrown out like that, in front of everyone—Reid Family would only feel more ashamed of her. Once word spread...
"Aaah!"
Before Angelica could finish her fantasy, a blood-curdling scream from one of the security guards broke the moment.
Selina was suddenly swept into a protective embrace.
Logan stood there, expression cold as ice. His voice was sharp and mocking:
"So, this is how Morris Family sees me? Nothing at all, huh? This place is under Luke’s name, and yet you think you can just take it?"
The room fell into dead silence.
Angelica’s smile froze. She turned her head—bit by bit—until her eyes locked with Kyle’s.
Kyle?!
What was he doing here?!
Kyle stared at the scene, disbelief written all over his face.
Angelica had told him she felt bad for Selina. That was why he’d felt guilty, why he’d kept helping Angelica—because she claimed to care. But now... how could she stand there and let Selina be humiliated like this?
Still, if the truth came out—that Selina was the real Morris heiress—the entire family would become a laughingstock. What the hell was he supposed to do?
Selina blinked innocently and said softly, "That’s why I asked you, Angelica—are you sure you want me to leave? Kyle’s been here for a while. Maybe he still doesn’t know what kind of person his ’sister’ really is."
Angelica’s lip quivered, panic rising in her chest.
Kyle opened his mouth. "...Mr. Reid, you must be joking. This is Luke’s restaurant. The Morris Family isn’t that unreasonable."
Logan let out a cold laugh. "Is that so? Before saying that, maybe ask who was yelling at Selina just now and threatening her with violence."
Kyle slowly turned his head.
Ever since he’d learned the truth, he hadn’t known what to do. Grandma hated Selina’s mother—hated Selina even more. If Selina returned to the Morris Family, she’d only suffer. Letting Angelica stand in her place kept both Grandma and Dad happy.
But still...
Kyle took a deep breath. "Angelica. Who ordered Selina to be dragged out just now?"
Luke was about to shout, "Isn’t it obvious? It was—"
"It was Aunt Morris."
Angelica cut in first, biting her lip and speaking weakly, her face full of guilt. "Brother, Aunt Morris just got too worked up. She didn’t really mean it."
Selina frowned. That’s odd... what game was Kyle playing? Was he actually defending her?
