45 What Happens Next?

The situation of the battlefield was like this.

Anan had passed out on the battlefield from excessive blood loss. Liana had gone crazy with bloodlust and had abandoned the giant serpent to Attack Alaric furiously with no care for her life. The giant serpent was currently throwing a fit, killing every and anybody in its line of sight.

Meanwhile, the first elder was being attacked by Kilian, but Killian seemed to be at a disadvantage.

On the other side of the battlefield, Leon's figure flashed and soon he landed beside Arian's body. She laid there in a small pool of her own blood. The dagger had gone through her chest, but it didn't directly hit any vital organs.

"Heal!!" Leon squatted before her and used his heal spell. The spell had been a passive one for the longest time because Leon was meticulous not to get injured most times.

However, In this scenario, it was necessary to use the spell.

"There's no need to continue....." The first elder said to an exhausted Kilian. They had fought for a brief few minutes and the difference between them was now very clear.

The first elder was not only exceptionally fast, he was somehow able to suck life-energy from his opponents. This was the most taboo skill he had ever seen. It was becoming clear that the first elder was just as dangerous as Liana in a one-on-one fight.

This battle was lost, Liana couldn't tame the serpent, and she was locked in a battle with a peak level 3 mage, there was no way for her to survive. But he and Leon could, so why risk their lives?

"Hm? What? Do you want to commit suicide?" Kilian was skeptical about what The first elder had just proposed.

He would take Leon and attract the serpent towards them? Was he so confident of escaping the enraged serpent?

"We are leaving…." The first elder's voice resounded behind Leon, who was currently healing Arian.

"Hm? Okay" Leon turned back and saw the old man on top of a carriage and nodded. This was the only opportunity to escape they would have. A moment too late, and Alaric would turn his attention to them.

Leon placed Arian on his back and climbed atop the carriage. Then the first elder looked back at Kilian before nodding.

"BloodSerpent work: yang Arrow"

Out of thin Air, a blood-red arrow appeared and shot towards the disfigured eye of the serpent.

"Roar!!!"

The arrow caused the giant serpent's eye to begin bleeding, once again, infuriating it. Its attention was quickly drawn to the first elder.

"Let's go" the first elder turned the horse carriage around and sped into a small tunnel on the side.

"Roar!!!!"

The serpent immediately gave chase. Just like that, they all left Liana to her fate, she had taken a risk and lost, there was Nothing they could do for her anymore.

Inside the small cave tunnel.

The first elder sat at the front of the carriage directing its movement while Leon stayed right beside him.

"You sure you know what you're doing, old man?" Leon asked. He couldn't wrap his head Around the reason why the old bastard would attract this massive monster to come after them. Was he some sort of masochist who enjoyed being beaten to the ground?

"Hehe, that's not the right question you should be asking, kid…." The first elder chuckled.

"Tell me, will you come with me to blood rock? Or do you have other plans?" The first elder asked. This question, it was a bit strange, have other plans? What did the old bastard know?

"Hehe, it's a pretty stupid question, I'm not even sure if I'll be able to succeed, talk less of taking anyone to blood rock"

He was going to try and tame the giant serpent himself, but there was a pretty low chance of him succeeding. After all, he wasn't Liana who had practiced the sacred blood manipulation spell.

"Oh? That's what you mean....." The old man didn't want Leon following him around, so he was actually trying to get rid of him.

But where was Leon supposed to go?

The serpent was right behind them.

"It's good that you understand, I'll drop you off somewhere so you can find your way from there" the first elder nodded as if Leon had made the right decision even though he didn't give him a choice at all.

Soon they approached a small tunnel connected to the main one, there the first elder dropped Leon and Arian.

"Hehe, I'm not even sure if any member of our blood serpent clan has survived, sigh. Take this spell, kid, it's my gift to maybe the last member of our blood serpent clan. It'll help in the future"
