Malevolent Warlock: Sin Of Eternity-Chapter 285: War-2
"Hold!!" A serious command echoed across the rooftops of a small city as four older men fell back into a defensive position, looking below.
One moment they were minding their own business, and the next, they were being chased down by brutish creatures that appeared out of nowhere.
"What the hell are those?" one of the older men asked, a serious frown on his face.
The three things in front of him didn’t look human at all but some had humanoid shapes and qualities. For example, the one with long hair waving along its back was emitting pure lightning mana, a clear cut sign of a mage however, the one opposite it emitted life energy, denoting its warlock origins.
Both had pale skin and eyes devoid of life and thought. The worst of the three was the biggest one, which emitted an energy signature none of them could understand. This one looked the least human of all.
The three were so different, yet so similar at the same time.
"I’m not sure, but now that we’re together, we can destroy them," the leader, a seemingly harmless blind man with a walking stick, said calmly, gazing in the direction of the three monsters.
Although these three were an enigma, they weren’t as powerful as the four of them. They had just noticed that all three emitted energy signatures likened them to peak level 3 existences.
"Yeah," one of the mages said, stepping forward as a bead of sweat rolled down his forehead.
These things had hunted them down in various corners of the city, pummeling them into the ground. They could rival and seriously suppress great mages like them in their base forms, but now?
The old man smiled wickedly.
"Elemental Embodiment: Terramaris!"
As he spoke, a humanoid magical apparition appeared behind him, hovering over his back. Then, in the next moment, it combined with the old man, causing his body and hair to glow with a spectacular yellow light.
Elemental Embodiment.
This was the evolution of a great mage. Like warlocks, their accumulations over the years condensed into a spiritual entity. But unlike great warlocks, mages directly combined with their entities, compensating for their lack of a powerful physique.
At the stage of great mage, a mage was fully capable of going hand to hand with a warlock without fear of severe damage.
—Zoom!
Like a flash of light, the old mage blasted downward, his arms bare and ready for a fight. They had chased him down in his weaker form; now they would face him at his strongest.
"Shit, stop!!"
However, as he flew at top speed toward the three monstrous creatures, a panicked scream sounded from behind.
But it was too late.
Out of nowhere, a silhouette draped in blood-red grabbed him by the head mid-flight and pushed him into a nearby wall.
—Boom!!
He hadn’t even sensed her presence until his head smashed against the wall.
"Die without struggle," the woman’s voice rang out as she gathered blood light in her palm, ready to deliver the killing blow.
"You wish, filthy warlock!" The old great mage cursed defiantly, Even though he had been sneak-attacked and his head smashed in, disorienting him, there was no way he would back down.
—Boom!
A wave of yellow energy burst from the inscriptions on his body, pushing the woman back in a blast of energy.
"Hehe." Gracefully taking several steps back dodging the wave, the woman smiled wickedly. Leon’s hunting tactics were always so fun to get into
Separating the target, pushing them into a corner, systematically eliminating them, there was so much they had gotten into in the past few months... Leon had even gone so far as kidnapping important individuals, forcing a rescue, and killing off the rescuers.
His methods were always so underhanded, even she was impressed. One would have a hard time believing she had once been this kid’s clan leader.
"Shit, how many are there?" Panic spread across one of the other great mages’ faces as he looked around wildly.
Clearly, there were more of these people hiding around. This was much more than they had anticipated. The woman just now was a great warlock. This was bad
"Vincent, I want you to escape. Get to the Waypoint Tower and send a distress signal," the old blind mage said calmly, turning to a younger mage who appeared to be in his 30s.
He couldn’t sense anything, but the fact that the great warlock had fought without caring about their presence showed she wasn’t alone.
Even now, they were probably being stalked by her allies in the shadows.
"Okay, boss," the younger mage nodded quickly. Being stuck here wasn’t something he wanted. Since the war started great mages who were once viewed as unkillable had been dropping like flies, Once he reached the Waypoint Tower, he would immediately depart this god forsaken stronghold.
He was too young to die.
A few seconds later, he rose into the air and blasted toward the Waypoint Tower, which stood in the middle of the stronghold.

Unfortunately, he didn’t notice that the moment he moved, several figures followed him slowly.
"I was right," the old blind mage thought with a bitter smile as he saw the shadows depart, His suspicions were confirmed: there were indeed others hiding in the dark.
"At least come out so we can see you," the old blind mage called out, staring toward the giant puppets in front of him.
They had reduced his team to just two. If the individual in the shadows wouldn’t come out even now, in a fair fight, they were probably weaker and didn’t want reveal their true strength. That would be the best outcome though
At least, that’s what he hoped for—

.
After a few seconds of waiting, the blind old man heaved a sigh of relief. No one came out, the worst case senario had been ruled out.
"Hehe."
That was until a subtle laugh resounded from behind the three puppets, and a young man with white hair streaked with red highlights stepped out from between them.
This sight completely destroyed the old man hope as he felt a new powerful presence appear before him.
A great warlock—one with a disgustingly high energy signature, that sent a chill down even his own spine.
