"Hm." As Leon’s troop marched forward through a rocky highland with green vegetation all around, Leon felt a tremor in the earth.

It was subtle and faint, so much so that most of the people around couldn’t feel it, but Leon was able to, quite easily. This was naturally because he caused the tremor. A few meters away, a giant gate emitting an ominous aura opened up as four figures flew out from within and went straight towards the front of the troop.

"You found it?" Leon turned slightly to see Ember, Arian, Liana, and a brutish figure land behind him.

"Hm? Ah, yes, yes, I found it." Ember looked up at Leon and smiled sheepishly. She had complained to Leon several kilometers back that her earring had gotten lost in the Terragor clan territory. To that effect, she had forced him to open Badur’s Gate back to the territory so she could retrieve it.

Despite how dangerous that was, Ember was adamant, so he sent Arian and his Kaga puppet to accompany her in retrieving her jewelry. However, seeing them now, he couldn’t help but sigh.

She didn’t have any earrings on her at all. What she did have was a new pair of daggers adorned with purple gems.

A Grade 4 weapon.

"Okay." Leon glanced at the ripped-off arm of his Kaga puppet and turned away without batting an eye. He didn’t even want to think about what these four were up to in the Terragor territory. He just wanted to get out of there quickly.

Luckily, they were just a few kilometers away from the Undergod territory.

"Alduwin," as Leon faced the path before him, he heard a voice ring in his ear, forcing him to look to the side.

Kang.

Throughout the trip, Kang had kept to himself, staying in his carriage and not interfering in their matters. What could he want now?

"You need something, Chief Warden?" Leon asked. Kang had once threatened him because of Bran, and even though Bran had long since left the clan, their relationship could never be straightened.

"When we cross the border, we will face the Undergod River directly. As you must know, the river is often plagued by gangs and marauders. If you want to make a name for yourself, I’m sure you know what to do." Kang’s words were ones of advice and tutelage.

He was no longer someone of the younger generation in the clan, so he had the right to lecture or advise whoever he chose. Of course, Leon was a completely different matter. His status made it hard to speak to him, but Kang was going to anyway.

After all, he was still stronger than Leon.

"I see. Well, thank the gods I have a plan for that." Leon smiled as he spoke before looking forward.

Across the horizon, a troop of 2,000 stood their ground as if waiting for someone, but this wasn’t any random warlock troop from the Sacred Land. It was a combination of warlocks and mages from different backgrounds.

"Hahaha, Brother Ben!" After they crossed the border, Leon’s troop went down the slope of the highland and faced the 2,000 men standing beside the Undergod River.

"Long time no see." Hearing the voice from within Leon’s troop, the commander of the 2,000 men turned around and spread his hands wide in welcome.

Soon, Leon and the Wolf brothers rode out to meet him.

Meanwhile, Kang stuck his head out of the carriage and said,

"Gangs?"

He couldn’t believe it. He was just talking to this kid about how slaughtering the gangs all the way to the Undergod Monastery would create a name for him, only for him to bring gang members here? What was he thinking?

"When I heard, I immediately talked to a few friends and brought them to meet you," Ben shook Leon’s hand and said, while leading him deeper into the 2,000-strong troop.

A month ago, several unidentified forces entered the Undergod Monastery and started taking action against mage forces in the region.

In a matter of days, forces that had stood for years were wiped out by unknown warlock clans.

At first, it seemed random, like maybe the Sacred Land was finally going to impose its influence on the Undergod Monastery, just like the mages of Sky Palace had been doing for decades.

But later, a pattern started to form, and the situation became clearer. The Sacred Land had decided to take action against mage forces in the Undergod territory that were backed by Sky Palace.

It was a scary situation, but the Undergod Monastery didn’t seem to care. They did nothing to help, other than condemn the acts of the warlocks from the Sacred Land.

When Ben got news that Leon was coming to the Undergod territory on a secret mission to the Monastery, he began to put together a force to help him.

Leon promised him gold, riches, and everything in between. He was but a lowly gangster—who was he to say no to money?

"This is Alastar of the Seven Jacks; they are good and loyal friends."

"Tyloon of Yolum Night Raider Corp."

"Sephrm—she’s what we call a pirate. Their sea legs are extremely strong!"

Ben introduced Leon to the people that formed his troop, all of whom were people he trusted and respected. The gangs had been trying to insert themselves into the chaos all this time to reap some benefits.

However, the warlock clans didn’t care for their help, so some had sold their loyalty to Sky Palace’s mages, hence Kang’s suggestion to wipe the lot of them out.

"They’ll do." Leon nodded.

After that, Ben turned to his men and said,

"Boys! We’ve been pushed to the edges for far too long, forgotten and fed the scraps of this world. But today, that changes. Today, we take what’s ours! We clear the riverbanks of the Undergod—no more running, no more lurking shadows. We’ll rip them out, root and stem!

These waters will flow free under our watch. Steel yourselves for the fight ahead. This is just the beginning, but by the end of it, every man here will stand tall, knowing we carved our place in this land. The river is ours!!!"

A resounding roar erupted, causing Kang and the rest to be stunned. This kid’s background was becoming more and more mysterious the longer he looked at it.
