Chapter 94: DROP THE GUN! NOW!

What?" Sabe demanded sharply, his brows knitting together as his gaze snapped back to Matthew. "Who’s responsible for your pregnancy, Matthew?"

His voice dropped into something darker, more dangerous.

"I want to hear it from you. Say it yourself. Right now."

Matthew stiffened, but before he could speak, Gabe’s laughter cut through the rain-soaked silence.

"Oh, of course it’s someone very close to you, Sabe," Gabe said lazily, tilting his head with a cruel smile. "Someone you’d never expect something like this from. Someone you trusted with your life—yet he still betrayed you."

His laughter rang out again, sharp and mocking.

Sabe’s eyes widened, disbelief warring with fury as he turned back to Matthew.

"Is that true?" he demanded. "Who’s the bastard that got you pregnant?"

His grip tightened around his gun.

"Is he one of my business clients? One of the men working under me?" His voice rose into a furious roar. "Speak up, you slut!"

Matthew’s lips trembled, but he lifted his chin defiantly.

"You don’t have to know that, Sabe," he replied coldly. "Just take care of your own shit."

He turned to leave.

The gunshot rang out like thunder.

Matthew screamed as the bullet tore through his hand, sending him crashing to the wet ground. Blood splattered across the mud, mixing with the rain.

Sabe lowered the gun slowly, his breathing heavy, eyes burning.

"Will you only talk when I kill you?" he asked darkly. "Now that I think about it... I never once perceived the baby’s scent from you."

He scoffed, shaking his head.

"You kept saying there were rare cases like that—and yes, they exist. But you’re in your eighth month now." His gaze hardened. "I should’ve started perceiving the child’s scent by now. At least something."

Josh rushed forward immediately, terror written all over his face.

"What are you doing, boss?!" he yelled as he dropped to his knees, cradling Matthew carefully. "You need to calm down! You’ll kill him!"

Tears streamed down Josh’s face as he desperately wrapped his handkerchief around Matthew’s bleeding hand.

"He’s still pregnant! You can talk this out later!"

"Not only will David die today," Sabe said coldly, "but Matthew will die too."

He slowly turned his gun toward Gabe, a twisted smile forming.

"And you, Gabe... you’ll die as well. You rendered me useless."

His voice dropped into something terrifying.

"I’ll cut off your dick with a machete first. I’ll watch you cry in pain before I put a bullet through your heart." His eyes glinted dangerously. "And your friend Fred? That therapist of yours? His little friend too—they all die."

He spread his arms slightly.

"See how many people had to die because of you, Gabe?"

"You wouldn’t do this, boss!" Josh shouted, standing up quickly after finishing the bandage. "Please!"

Sabe turned sharply toward him.

"Oh?" His eyes narrowed suspiciously. "When did you start defending Matthew over me?"

He took a step closer.

"Why are you standing so close to that bastard?" His voice trembled with rage. "Have you been fucking him behind my back?"

"Absolutely not, boss!" Josh replied quickly, swallowing hard. "I’m thinking on your behalf! If you kill everyone here, you’ll definitely end up in prison."

He raised his hands slightly.

"Drop the gun. Let’s deal with David and leave the rest."

Sabe laughed darkly.

"Oh, really?"

He suddenly pointed the gun at Josh.

"Because your actions don’t look like loyalty to me." His voice sharpened. "What’s between you and Matthew? Did you betray me—or is Gabe lying?"

"Gabe is lying!" Josh shouted desperately. "I’ve been loyal to you forever, boss! Please believe me!"

The next gunshot came instantly.

Matthew screamed as Sabe shot him in the other hand, blood spraying violently.

"Fuck!" Alex muttered from a distance, fists clenched. "This is why I hate the law. Why the hell aren’t the police here yet? Gabe is in serious danger!"

"Stop it, boss!" Josh yelled, pulling out his own gun at last, his hands shaking.

"Fine," Josh snapped suddenly, rage and despair colliding. "Yes. I’m the one who got Matthew pregnant."

Everyone froze.

"I’ve been fucking him behind your back," Josh continued hoarsely. "I impregnated him. So what?"

His voice cracked.

"You already had a partner and still wanted another. And it had to be my Matthew!"

Sabe stared at him for a second—then smiled.

"So it was true," he said calmly. "Nice."

The gunshot echoed through the storm.

Josh collapsed instantly, the bullet tearing through his head. His gun fired reflexively as he fell, grazing Sabe’s hand, but it was nothing more than a scratch.

"I hate betrayals," Sabe muttered.

"Josh!" Matthew screamed weakly, crawling toward him and clutching his lifeless body. "You monster! How dare you kill my man!"

Sabe stepped closer, towering over him.

"You shouldn’t be worried about your man," he said softly. "You should be worried about yourself."

He cocked the gun.

"You’ll meet him soon. You can reconnect in the afterlife."

The final shot rang out.

Matthew collapsed beside Josh, blood soaking into the earth as the rain intensified—pouring harder, heavier—like the heavens themselves were enraged by the carnage unfolding below.

"Fuck!"

Gabe swallowed hard, his throat suddenly dry as sand. I never knew this bastard was this much of a monster.

Thank goodness Alex isn’t here.

His fingers curled slowly at his side as his thoughts spiraled. I thought he’d kill Josh... maybe threaten Matthew... but spare him because of the baby. A hollow laugh echoed in his mind. I was wrong.

This bastard couldn’t even spare an innocent unborn child.

Does that make me a monster too? Gabe wondered bitterly. I could’ve gotten a doctor. I could’ve begged Damien. His jaw tightened. But I didn’t.

And Damien... that fool wouldn’t have helped anyway. Not when his life was tied to Alex. He’d never risk death for anyone else.

A cold voice cut through his thoughts.

"It’s time for you to die too, Mr. David."

Sabe turned slowly, his movements deliberate, almost calm—too calm. His lips curved into a cruel smile as he raised his gun. "Your actions prove you betrayed me. And betrayal has only one ending."

Before Mr. David could even open his mouth to speak, a gunshot rang out.

"Ahhh!"

The bullet tore through Mr. David’s hand, blood splattering the wet ground as he screamed in agony and collapsed.

"Painful, right?" Sabe said lightly, tilting his head as he watched the man writhe. His eyes gleamed with twisted delight. "I love it when I inflict pain on people. It reminds them they’re powerless."

"Stop it, Sabe!" Gabe shouted, his voice cracking as he stepped forward. "Stop this madness! Mr. David did nothing to you. He’s innocent—you have no right to punish him!"

That was enough distraction.

Clenching his teeth against the pain, Mr. David dragged himself backward, then turned and began crawling away as fast as his trembling body would allow. Earlier, his legs had locked up in terror when he watched Josh and Matthew die—but fear had now transformed into raw survival instinct.

If I don’t move now, he thought desperately, I’m dead.

"Oh really?" Sabe murmured, slowly turning his head back toward Gabe. His smile vanished, replaced by cold fury. "And you? Are you innocent, Gabe?"

He stepped closer, eyes burning. "You deserve to die. You rendered me useless."

"You rendered yourself useless!" Gabe snapped, anger finally breaking through his fear. "If you hadn’t tried to castrate Alex, you wouldn’t have ended up like this!"

A gunshot echoed—into the air.

"Don’t you ever mention that bastard’s name in front of me again!" Sabe roared. In the blink of an eye, he closed the distance, grabbing Gabe by the hair and yanking his head back violently.

"Now that I think about it," Sabe continued, his voice dropping into something disturbingly soft, "why don’t we die together?"

Gabe struggled, his hands gripping Sabe’s wrist.

"I’ve been a bad husband to you, haven’t I?" Sabe went on, eyes glittering with madness. "So let’s die. And when we’re reborn, I’ll marry you again. I’ll impregnate you properly this time."

He laughed darkly. "No low sperm count. No failures. Doesn’t that sound perfect?"

"You’re insane!" Gabe yelled. Gathering all his strength, he slammed his head forward, smashing it against Sabe’s.

Sabe stumbled back with a grunt, releasing his grip.

"I’m not responsible for your downfall," Gabe shouted breathlessly. "I don’t have to die with you. Wake up, Sabe. This isn’t love—it’s madness!"

"You’re dying with me, Gabe," Sabe replied coldly. He raised his gun once more, finger tightening around the trigger.

Time seemed to slow.

Just as the gun fired, a figure lunged forward, crashing into Gabe.

The impact knocked them both to the ground.

One of my men? Gabe thought dimly, his heart hammering as he squeezed his eyes shut, waiting for pain that never came.

"DROP THE GUN! NOW!"

Multiple voices echoed at once—sharp, commanding, unmistakable. Police.

Red and blue lights flashed through the rain-soaked darkness as armed officers surrounded the scene.

Sabe froze.

The world tilted.

Even though the bullet hadn’t touched him, the shock finally overwhelmed Gabe. His vision blurred, sounds fading into muffled echoes as darkness swallowed him whole.
