Magus Supremacy-Chapter 324: Something Bigger!
Chapter 324: Something Bigger!
Chapter 324
’I need to conserve my strength... I can’t go all out just yet. I don’t even know how strong the real boss will be.’ Amir’s jaw tightened, his eyes scanning the battlefield with growing unease.
’Seeing these varied species attacking together... I just hope to the heavens that a boss from each doesn’t suddenly show up.’
A cold shudder crept down his spine at the thought of facing multiple boss-tier beasts at once.
BOOM!
An ogre lunged at him from the front, its crude sword cleaving through the air with terrifying speed. A second ogre leapt from above, swinging a spiked hammer with lethal intent. Behind him, another ogre charged, blade raised high.
Amir exhaled slowly.
Sigh!
The earth beneath his feet transmuted in an instant—crumbling dirt gave way to polished steel, forming a launchpad.
With a blast of force, it hurled Amir skyward, narrowly avoiding the dual swords slicing through where he had just stood.
Midair, Amir twisted and raised both arms. Metal coalesced in front of him, forming a massive hammer that shimmered with silver light. He swung it with a grunt, meeting the airborne ogre’s hammer in a thunderous clash.
BOOOOM!
The sonic boom that followed cracked the air and sent vibrations across the battlefield. Though Amir was launched backward by the sheer force, he managed to flip multiple times, landing with the grace of a trained warrior.
But there was no time to breathe.
One of the ogres, massive and snarling, came charging with its sword already mid-swing.
Amir instinctively parried with a conjured metal blade, the impact forcing him to skid several feet back, boots digging into the dirt. He clenched his teeth and braced, just as a cold instinct warned him of a strike from behind.
Without looking, Amir raised a hand and shot out a flurry of metal spikes. They launched with a high-pitched whistle and embedded into an oncoming ogre’s chest, halting its deadly charge.
"Damn it!" he spat, frustration boiling over. He turned to the ogre he’d just parried and, with a roar, slashed his gleaming sword, cleaving its head clean off. Black blood sprayed, and the monstrous body collapsed.
Before the corpse even hit the ground, Amir summoned another metal platform beneath him and launched himself forward toward the hammer-wielding ogre.
The beast met him mid-air, swinging its weapon in a powerful arc. Amir, twisting with precision, stomped on the platform, sending a sharp metal spike flying straight into the ogre’s hand.
Squelch!
The spike pierced through, causing black blood to gush. The ogre howled in agony.
"ARGHH!"
A second ogre sprinted forward, sword raised. It leapt with such ferocity that the ground cracked beneath its feet. The blade connected with Amir, swatting him out of the sky like a fly and slamming him into the earth below.
THUD!
"Urgh..." Amir groaned, blood trickling from his nose as he pushed himself off the ground. "If I wasn’t holding back, you all would’ve been dead by now!"
But the ogres didn’t seem impressed. They bellowed and charged toward him as he struggled to rise.
Shit... too slow.
A massive hammer swung toward his face, too fast to dodge.
BANG!
The deafening clang of metal-on-metal rang out as a large shield blocked the attack.
Before Amir stood a bloodied young man, panting, his teeth grit in pain. His arms trembled slightly under the weight of the blow, but the shield held.
"Even though you’re an arsehole of a dad and you always favor that weakling," Dave said, not turning to look at Amir, "you’re still my father... and my Captain."
"You’re conscious?!" Amir asked, shocked.
Dave didn’t answer. He turned to the ogres, his mana flaring back to life.
"I should be pissed at that peasant for humiliating me, but—" he stepped forward, forcing the ogre back, "—because of him, I’ve recovered enough to do this!"
Metal formed in his outstretched hand, a sword materializing with sharp precision. He swung it in a horizontal arc, the blade humming with power.
CRACK!
The sword met the ogre’s ribs with such explosive force that the creature was hurled into the dirt, creating a small crater.
"Look out, you dumb son of mine!" Amir barked.
He dashed in with a new sword of his own, intercepting another ogre’s attack that was about to cleave Dave in half.
Steel met steel in a blinding clash.
"Whatever!" Dave shouted back, unfazed.
The ogre he had struck earlier was now pushing itself off the ground. Dave launched forward, yelling, "Die!"
With a swift motion, he raised his hand. Fifty metal swords materialized in the sky and plummeted down like meteors.
But the ogre spun around, swung its hammer upward, and released a devastating shockwave.
BOOM!
All fifty swords shattered in the air. Steel rained down in twisted fragments.
But Dave had used the distraction well.
Before the ogre could recover, he slipped behind it and drove a thick metal spear deep into its back. The monster roared in agony, stumbling forward.
"Now," Dave growled.
From the earth ahead, a massive iron pike erupted, impaling the ogre through the skull. Its head exploded in a sickening gush of black blood.
The beast slumped, lifeless.
’Time to help Da—’
Dave turned, only to find Amir wiping blood off his face as he stood casually over the final ogre’s corpse, completely unscathed.
"You handled it? Alone?" Dave asked, eyes narrowing. "Then why act like you were struggling?"
"I wasn’t struggling," Amir replied, his voice calm. "I was conserving energy."
Dave scoffed, about to respond—but Amir’s gaze was now scanning the battlefield beyond.
’If Dave is conscious, then it means...’ Amir thought
Elsewhere, chaos raged. Students were locked in brutal combat with all kinds of beasts. And further ahead, surrounded by broken earth pillars, lay an unconscious figure with crimson hair, unmoving.
Amir’s jaw tightened. ’He’s still out cold. Damn it.’
"Conserving your strength?!" Dave growled. "Look around! Use your damn Domain! Let’s end this before it’s too late!"
"You impatient fool," Amir snapped. "If I unleash my Domain now, and something stronger appears, we’ll be completely drained and defenseless."
"Stronger? What could be worse than this flood of monsters?!"
Just then, the sky itself answered.
SKREEEEEEEEE!
An ear-piercing screech echoed through every corner of the arena, making the ground quake and their ears ring.
"That." Amir pointed skyward.
Above them, a massive portal widened with an ominous groan, its swirling darkness stretching to accommodate something... something huge.
Something monstrous.
