Mage Manual-Chapter 1390 - 1020: Igula and Harvey, Who Are They?
Escape, an endless escape.
Because he had been trudging through the void for too long, he was almost becoming a part of it. Without memories, he couldn’t even tell who he truly was.
In the Nihility Dimension, there were no colors; everything was made of lines. There was no past, no future, no eternity, no instant, not even sorrow could find a place here—only meaningless immortality, like an eternal tomb buried beneath a glacier.
"Death Mad, Death Mad, my dear Death Mad, my pathetic Death Mad!" Youmo’s first words were of anger, the second of despair, the third filled with affection, and the fourth with a sigh. Each of her words exploded with different emotions: "You saved them, are you satisfied? But it’s over, everything is over!"
He was used to it. Youmo was an oppressive monster; whenever things went awry, she would go crazy, and even when things went well, she couldn’t help but unleash negative energy. She was like an endless quagmire; no one could save her, those who approached her would sink into despair until they drowned in it.
"Everyone is going to die, everyone is going to die, la la la~" Black Demon sang joyfully, with the jarring sound of a seventeen-part harmony making one wish to pierce their own eardrums: "If you’re happy and you know it, clap your~ hands~, if you’re happy and you know it, nod your~ head~, if you’re happy and you know it, let’s walk~ together! Together!"
"Yeah, let’s die together, no one can be happy... As long as everyone is dead, then no one will be happier than us, right? Right, right, right?"
Though Black Demon seemed quite crazy, she was actually quite easy to manipulate. She wasn’t as eager to die as she appeared; her hatred and jealousy towards everything in the world allowed her to operate seventeen personalities effortlessly. Even the Divine Lord would face soul annihilation if too many personalities were split, but this rule didn’t apply to Black Demon. Most importantly, Black Demon still cherished the time spent with Delusion Heart... so no matter how many sisters had to die, she would never give up, making her the most useful tool.
"Observer." Lord of Mirrors’ voice was gentle, as he could even feel her affectionate gaze focusing on his profile. She almost flew alongside him, as if trying to snuggle into his embrace: "This isn’t according to our plan, Uroboros perceived this world ahead of time, but Ash and the others have just ascended to demigodhood... what do we do now?"
Among these four people, the Lord of Mirrors was the most obedient, the wisest, the calmest, and she was almost utterly infatuated with him, willing to give her heart to him. If asked to die, she would die, if asked to bite someone, she would do so. She claimed to have repented, wanting to save everything, whether it be the world, emotions, marriage, or the future... but he had never believed a word she said.
How could a broken mirror ever be made whole again? How could a beast that has tasted flesh return to eating grass? She pretended to be a fish, desperately trying to get close to him, but he could still smell the bloody scent of those sharp fish bones.
The Lord of Mirrors was the monster he could not control; the truer her tears appeared, the deeper her betrayal would be.
"What else can we do? It’s time, Observer!" Youmo declared loudly: "We still have a chance to fight... we still have a chance to cause chaos! After fattening them up for so long, it’s time to devour them!"
"Devour them, devour them! Consume them entirely, make them your own!" Black Demon clapped excitedly, the seventeen-part harmony merging into a single frequency: "Then, Observer, let’s charge once more! Once more, let’s walk against time, overturn the reflection of this world!"
"No."
The always silent Death Mad spoke deliberately, "It’s not yet time to give up."
"It’s all your fault, it’s all your fault, Death Mad! If not for you, we wouldn’t have fallen to this point!" Youmo screamed: "The more we interfere, the more Uroboros notices this world, we’ve already reached the limit of our interference... yet you directly interfered in their Hell Trial, why didn’t you just shatter Hell? Shattering Hell would be better than letting them share Void Wings... this power shouldn’t exist in this world now!"
"If we didn’t save them, they would have died, and we would still have failed!"
"At that time, we should have directly replaced them." Lord of Mirrors calmly stated: "They couldn’t pass the Hell Trial, but we can. Though it’s a pity the plan couldn’t be perfect, as Dazzling Star said, perfection only ever exists in imagination."
"Oh? Then why didn’t we do it this way?" Black Demon tilted her head.
"Because she acted directly! She shared the power!" Youmo was almost furious: "What can we do? She’s done this, apart from complying with her, what else can we do?"
"Now you’re satisfied, Death Mad, the ones you wanted to save are alive, but Uroboros is here, this world is doomed!"
"So, if Death Mad hadn’t acted, we would have devoured them then?" Black Demon giggled: "So Death Mad did it on purpose to stop us from imagining eating them."
"Deliberately, deliberately, hehe she did it deliberately... deliberately!"
"Death Mad." Black Demon’s seventeen-part harmony suddenly reduced to a single cold female voice: "You betrayed us."
"But there’s still time," Lord of Mirrors said gently: "Observer, we still have time to replace them. A fleshly body, sunlight, the sky, love and warmth... at least before the world is swallowed, we have a chance to relive it all."
