Even so, the Snakemen did not stop their advance. Driven by a power far greater than the fear of death, they charged forward relentlessly. Perhaps they didn't care about the lives they lost, using this method to test the fortress's defensive strength.

"These creatures were bred, not born; there's no doubt about it." Deluo looked down from the All-Knowing Tower and said to the warriors around him, "They're puppets created for slaughter and conquest, showing no respect for life, hence having no soul to speak of. Let's send them to hell!"

Deluo was responsible for deploying the Dwarf Bombs, ensuring all remaining explosives lasted as long as possible. Since the designs and formulas for these bombs had been destroyed by Lynch, they couldn't replenish any more bombs. Deluo could only order the use of such weapons when the situation became dire.

A bomb whistled down, landing in the open ground before the walls, exploding in the midst of the Snakemen's charging army. This time, without the protection of fire shields, the Snakemen suffered a heavy blow, leaving a field of corpses where the bomb landed, and halting the continuous assault.

"Be careful, everyone, if the Snakemen have any scheming plans, now is the time they'll show them!" Deluo still remembered Zilvra's words: The Great Serpent must have prepared a "gift" against the All-Knowing Tower, and when it couldn't counter the power of the Dwarf Bombs, such preparations would come into play.

Indeed, from behind the thick clouds in the sky, a group of shadows dived down. Numerous Gargoyles, led by Giant Dragons, cut through the sky, howling as they swooped toward the All-Knowing Tower.

Zilvra rubbed her ring, summoning the Black Dragon. The Giant Dragon merely glanced at the sky and understood the current critical situation—although the Griffin Cavalry had already taken flight, the numerical advantage of the Gargoyles and the superior capabilities of the Giant Dragons quickly overwhelmed them. The Snakemen's aerial forces paused only briefly before continuing their advance.

The ringed Black Dragon let out an angry growl: "No wonder I didn't notice! These damned Gargoyles have no scent! This battle is even more troublesome than I imagined!"

Zilvra softly said, "What? Are you afraid?"

The Black Dragon glared at her, then asked, "Did you get what I asked for?"

Zilvra pulled out a thick roll of paper from her bosom and handed it to the Black Dragon: "The Knights wouldn't hand over this document, so I had to steal it to get it out."

"To protect their lives, I have to spill some blood, get hurt; yet these Knights aren't even willing to do that!" The Black Dragon picked up the document Zilvra gave him, muttering curses as he flew into the sky.

The Snakemen's aerial forces suddenly slowed down, as the Red Dragons leading the charge saw the massive figure of the Black Dragon. Compared to their kin from the All-Knowing Tower, the attacking dragons seemed "miniature" indeed.

The Giant Dragons didn't know where this Black Dragon came from or why it was so enormous. But they could be certain of one thing: the power within the Black Dragon's body was stronger than most of their companions combined.

Although the Black Dragon would eventually succumb due to being outnumbered, the Dragon Clan held a profound respect for the strong. They slowed their pace, at least not launching an attack first against the Black Dragon.

However, the Black Dragon had no intention of confronting such a group of its kin—that would be akin to courting death, and it certainly wasn't that foolish. The Black Dragon flapped its wings, hovered above the enemy's advancing path, and in the most ancient Dragon Language—understood across the Multi-Universe—it loudly declared:

"I am the owner of this land! Are you going to ignore tradition and attack a Dragon Clan territory?" The Black Dragon displayed the document in its hand, saying gloomily, "I went to great lengths to acquire this fine piece of land. Even the human leaders here acknowledge my authority! This place belongs to me, you must leave!"

The Red Dragons looked at each other, suddenly stunned by this news. They had come to the Anriel World at the invitation of the Great Serpent to test their skills but didn't expect to trespass into the territory of their own kin in their first battle. For dragons, they could covet all the treasures of the world, occupy any land, but they would never rob their own kind. This was not only a rule set for the sake of reproduction but also for their own noble dignity—the value of treasures and territories highlights a dragon's abilities, and to prove themselves, they can only work honestly, without resorting to cunning methods.
