Mage Legend-Chapter 815 - 54: Abandonment (Part 4)
The Magic God was drenched in sweat, his strength gradually waning, the energy of magic slowly slipping away and beginning to elude his control. He had relied on the magic origin power collected through five scrolls to resurrect, but these five scrolls were hidden within Lynch. If Lynch chose to erase all of his memories, then he would be utterly incapable of giving commands to those scrolls—whether consciously or subconsciously.
This meant the Magic God would lose power, not completely, but most of it. And a body with a blank mind could not possibly allow him to return to the Anriel World.
Faced with the imminent threat of total failure, the Magic God instantly retracted the spell he was using, gathering as much power as possible to reverse Lynch's spell. However, the force of magical backlash was unstoppable, enormous power binding his hands and feet, leaving him unable to break free. As the light surrounding Lynch grew ever brighter, the mage's likeness gradually faded, the Magic God screamed hoarsely, futilely reaching out with his palms, always just a little short, no matter how he tried, he couldn't reach Lynch's robe.
The magic spiraled completely out of control, and the violent explosion flung both of them to opposite ends of the earth. From that moment, the entire space began to transform, everything reverting to its original state. The poisonous gas dissipated, and the air became breathable; the deep chasms on the ground gradually closed, once again becoming traversable. Only the clouds in the sky did not disperse, still accumulating the energies previously unleashed by Lynch and the Magic God in battle.
At some indeterminate moment, the sky began to rain. The torrential downpour washed over everything here, soaking every inch thoroughly. Every blade of grass, every stone crevice, all the dust was washed out, merged with the rain, and carried towards the river, sent far away.
The Magic God, doused by the water, shivered violently and sat up from the ground. He first called upon the power of the magic origin, but received no response, indicating that Lynch had completed his magic, washing away his own memories.
He pounded the ground beside him in anger, scattering countless droplets, breaking into shards. The frustration of a near victory filled him with extreme rage, and boundless regret made every muscle in his body tremble uncontrollably.
Yet he still possessed Divinity, and the residual magic power within his body was sufficient to allow him to wait calmly on another plane. Even without the Arcane Secret Scroll, he could still have infinite time to recover his strength, and then return to the Anriel World. Though it consumed considerable time, it was not a hopeless venture.
Until Lynch's figure reappeared in his view. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
The Magic God couldn't quite comprehend whether this was Lynch. Although his appearance was identical, his aura was entirely different. This Lynch stood with a firm chest before him, unmoved by the wind and rain. From his eyes, there was no unfathomable depth, only the simplest of things—confidence.
A purple-gold longsword was tightly gripped in hand, the tattered white robe soaked by rain, shaking continuously in the crosswind. He remained silent, his eyes never leaving the Magic God.
The Magic God softly called, "Lynch?"
But Lynch remained unmoved, as if the name held no significance for him. He stood firm with the sword, challenging the Magic God, but did not make a move, as if waiting for something.
"Damn it! How can you do this to me!" The Magic God rose from the ground, waving his fist, and said, "Do you have any idea how much effort I've put in? How long I spent..."
Lynch leveled the sword, pointing it at the bridge of the Magic God's nose, and spoke with determination but in a calm tone, "Now, you have risen; thus, you shall fall."
With that, he lunged forward, the longsword gleaming with cold light, slicing through the rain, aiming straight for the Magic God's brow.
