Lustful Demon King: Summoned by the Demon Goddesses!-Chapter 141: Meeting Alexi again!
After that moment they shared in the morning, two days had quickly passed. They were a quiet two days, as not much happened, aside from Jax focusing on his work, as there was a huge amount of resources they had obtained from taking down the Merchant Foundation, and they had to organize all of that.
Meanwhile, the city had moved on, but Astra still carried the lingering warmth of her passionate night with Jax, and all the citizens had also moved on continued their standard daily lives.
But deep beneath the Cathedral... nothing was quiet. Every second that ticked by here felt like an eternity to those trapped in the prison, and for Alexi, she was experiencing that hell, locked up here with no clue about how the future would turn out.
It was an excruciating experience, and she knew it was just getting started. Every moment that passed, she thought about Natasha, how she betrayed them randomly, the deep love and lust that Alexi saw in her eyes towards the Demon King.
All of that gnawed at her, made her confused, made her deep in thought as she sat in this prison, her rage still simmering towards the Demon King.
Every time she closed her eyes... she saw Natasha smiling beside him. Every time she inhaled... she remembered the sound of Killian’s bones cracking under pressure.
Every time she blinked... she felt the moment the Demon King’s fingers touched her forehead and erased her power like extinguishing a candle.
Her sense of scale had shattered. All of that training and sacrifice they went true were meaningless in the face of his power.
~STEP~STEP~STEP!~
Suddenly, Alexi could hear footsteps approaching, slow and unhurried. It wasn’t the heavy marching of the wardens she’d heard the prior days when they came to deliver her food.
This felt very relaxed, and she also felt a powerful aura that caused her body to react.
Her shoulders stiffened, and her breathing shallowed. Her fingers curled slightly into her sleeves.
Some deep primal and involuntary instinct recognized the presence before conscious thought formed. The cell door slid open as the runes lit up, mana pressure shifting as the environment itself around them adjusted.
Alexi took a sharp breath as she saw the Demon King step inside, with Natasha following behind half a step.
Her pupils shrank as she saw him, though his face was obscured by a magical fog.
"Well," Jax said mildly, "you look worse than when I left you."
The words were not loud, but for Alexi, they landed like deliberate pressure applied to a fracture.
Alexi’s lips parted, but no sound came out. Her throat moved once, then twice, and finally, all she could squeeze out was one singular word.
"...Why," she rasped.
She didn’t scream or demand them to answer the question. She just asked, genuinely curious, and Jax walked a slow circle around her, examining the cell, the suppression arrays, and the noticeable deterioration in Alexi’s posture and confidence compared to when she first arrived.
The fractured mana signature barely flickering beneath nullification cuffs. Jax stopped in front of her again.
"Why what?"
Her eyes filled instantly.
"Why are you doing this..." Alexi squeezed out.
Natasha stepped forward slightly, staring down at the woman who she shared the battlefield with not long ago, and responded for Jax with a very calm, almost conversational voice.
"Because you lost, isn’t it obvious,"
Alexi flinched as if struck. Her gaze snapped to Natasha. That was what hurt most.
Not the Demon King’s presence, not being defeated and captured, but Natasha. Seeing the woman she shared the battlefield with now completely under the Demon King’s thumb, the passionate gaze in Natasha’s eyes whenever she looked at the Demon King.
There was no hesitation or regret in that gaze.
"You..." Alexi’s voice broke, "You’re really staying with him..."
Natasha tilted her head slightly, "Of course I am."
Silence expanded inside the chamber.
"I love him," Natasha added simply.
Something inside Alexi shattered audibly.
Her breath hitched violently.
Her shoulders shook.
"That’s not, that’s not real, that’s not you!"
Jax laughed quietly, just amused at Alexi’s reaction.
Just... amused.
"You still think in terms of corruption and purity," he said as he crouched in front of her. Close enough that she could feel the faint distortion of space around him.
"You cannot comprehend willing alignment with overwhelming power," he continued softly, "So you reinterpret it as manipulation."
Her voice trembled violently as she heard that, "You brainwashed her,"
Natasha sighed as she heard that, "No," she said. "I chose him."
Alexi shook her head frantically. Tears streamed down her face as she spoke, "You don’t choose monsters, "
Jax’s smile sharpened slightly.
"Do you know what I find fascinating?" he asked.
He reached forward. Just letting his hand hover inches from her face and Alexi froze.
"Even now... you do not actually understand who you are speaking to."
Her breathing stuttered.
Confusion flickered through despair.
"What...?"
Natasha’s expression softened slightly with anticipation.
Jax straightened slowly.
Then, deliberately, he released suppression on his presence to allow Alexi to see him.
"Y... It’s you..."
Alexi’s voice came out broken. She stuttered as she tripped over herself and fell on the floor once again after seeing Jax’s face.
Her eyes were wide and shaking, locked onto Jax’s face as if seeing a ghost from her past. She looked at every feature, desperate to see something to prove he wasn’t who she thought he was, but she couldn’t find anything.
"No," she whispered hoarsely, "No, that’s not possible...It can’t be you, you’re back on Earth, this is impossible," Alexi said.
Jax stepped forward and grabbed Alexi by the chin, "Oh, it’s very possible,"
Jax pulled Natasha closer, his hands roaming her body as he kissed her, Natasha moaning into his mouth as her legs trembled.
After a bit, Jax pulled away and looked towards Alexi who was still looking at them in shock and fear, "Watch and learn, this is gonna be you soon,"
