176 Reunion 2: Guest Of Honor

*************

CHAPTER 176

She shook her head at what her life had become. She should have known better. All of her trainings taught and prepared her for this day but it seemed that she was not really prepared for it as she should have.

Arctic had pointed it out then when he returned. She really had dulled out and that was because she allowed herself to feel. But then emotion with logic was dangerous but what was worse was logic without emotion even for a killer.

She wanted to believe that she could merge both as did her parents. They found love yet he still ruled the mafia world.

But if she thought well, wasn’t it that love that made her father weak to some extent but not weak in general in the sense that it gave him compassion.

She knew her father was smart and he saw through everything but why then did he allow his death to happen one way or another like that?

So many thoughts ran through her head and she did not know what to feel, think or even do anymore.

One thing was for sure, look for how to escape and this time, murder all of her feelings and carry out her revenge in a full scale and murder all those who had tricked her and wished her ill.

.....

“Then since that is settled, bring her out to the open area. I need a bigger space for this reunion, don’t you think?” Although he looked over at Arctic, he was talking to his subordinates.

“Noted sir.”

“Oh and bring our guest of honor out. Now shall we? Take her out as well.”

That was it and Zale left the room to wait for them at the said place.

In no time they brought out the guest of honor but made sure to cover her face so that they do not ruin the fun and reveal who she was just instantly. Even Jade and Arctic were there waiting for the big reveal.

“Now, let the party begin.”

Jade had been watching as they brought the said guest of honor to the party. Her legs wobbled as she walked. A clear indignation that she had suffered a lot of torture in their hands and with probably little or nothing to eat.

She could not say she did not feel for this person but then who was she to feel sorry for anyone when she did not even know what plans Zale had for her yet.

“Okay, Jade Frost, I hope you are prepared to see who he betrayed you for. I really want you to watch carefully as the big reveal happens and a resounding reunion occurs.”

“Stop this torture Zale. There is still time, you can just let it all end.”

Zale shook his head, ignoring Arctic words but that did not stop Arctic. “There is no need to cause any more pain. You already have who you want,” Arctic said, trying to get Zale to stop the madness.

“Shut up already before I have someone do it for you.” He exhaled sharply before snapping his fingers at his men that stood behind the guest of honour. “Do it now. Nice and easy, slowly.”

Obeying the command that he got, he began to pull the black cloth bag up from the tip at her head, revealing her face an inch at a time till totally everything was shown.

All though the process, Jade’s heart had begun to beat harder in her chest. Somehow her mind made her feel that this was someone she knew and her guests became clearer when she saw the neck of the lady.

She had two guesses. One was that it was her mother and the other was her best friend. She had dared not believe that it would be her best friend because she was shot and fell down the bridge but if it was her mother, then that was possible.

She knew that if it was either of these two, she would happily not blame Arctic for bargaining her life for theirs but if it wasn’t then she would really want to kill him if she got out with it.

What was even worse was that while that thought was in her mind, it did occur to her that if it was either of the two, they would happily risk their lives for hers and they would want to kill Arctic for bargaining Jade’s life for theirs.

Both mother and friend loved her so dearly. Her best friend and personal bodyguard would readily give her life for Jade’s and so would her mother. After all she was the future of their generation and the next Mafia Lord. Every of her underlings would give their life for her. It was their loyalty.

And as a mother, what better sacrifice was that? At the end of the day whichever one it was, Arctic would probably die or suffer in the hands of both ladies depending on the outcome.

It was a case and a situation he couldn’t escape.

Either way, because if he hadn’t done it and it was either one of the ladies, then Jade would have definitely killed him for not saving them. Sigh what a life he was living.

But when she saw the jaw of the person, her heart stopped beating altogether. Her fear was already taking over her.

It was not until the cloth was totally removed that Jade could breathe again but it only came at a slow burst as her heart, mind and body was trying to process what she saw.

“No way.” Those were the words that she could utter at that moment when she saw the person.

At the same time, the guest of honour who had her eyes shut close took a few seconds to blink and adjust her vision to the new found light.

But the moment she could see clearly and she looked closer at the person kneeling down opposite from where she was kneeling as well, her heart burst.
