Chapter 655: Trip To Academy

The day of Arielle’s departure for the academy with Irene, Aimee, and William had arrived. The four of them set off on a carriage containing Arielle, Irene, and Aimee, while William went on his horse to guard the rear with several other knights.

Arielle visited Ronan’s study first to ask the man permission to leave the palace. Ronan was busy discussing something with Priest Louise and Priest Elis when she entered the room. Arielle already knew that Ronan had told them everything he knew about the memoir of Princess Cecillia. They were also looking into the possibilities regarding the power of the blood that could heal any wounds and diseases like the elixir of immortality.

Priest Elis and Priest Louise stood to welcome the queen. Then, Arielle approached Priest Louise first to greet him.

"Priest Louise, I’m sorry I couldn’t greet you two days ago. It was really rude of me to fall asleep when you arrived," said Arielle who felt guilty for not being able to greet Priest Louise even though the old man had come all the way from his residence to meet her.

Priest Louise was not the least bit offended. Instead, he chuckled and clapped Arielle’s hand gently like a grandfather to his granddaughter.

"It’s alright, Your Highness. Your task is very tough. I would rather you rest well than to meet me. Take your time to rest well. Don’t let yourself get sick," he replied, making Arielle smile.

"Thank you very much, Priest Louise. I still haven’t done well. Even until now, I still have to learn a lot from Priest Elis."

"That’s natural. Not everyone can immediately master something in just a short time. In the past, His Majesty the King also made many mistakes at the beginning of his reign, but over time, he has become an extraordinary figure."

Ronan felt proud of the praise from Priest Louise. Indirectly, Priest Louise had become his teacher who accompanied him since childhood and guided him to do all his duties as a king in place of his father.

"Oh, how’s King Arthur? Is he all right?" Arielle asked about her father-in-law.

"King Arthur did his best. He is learning many things while guarding Queen Zoe’s tomb."

"I’m pleased to hear it. Maybe if I have free time, I will take the time to visit you. Your home is really warm, and I really like it. I will also take Princess Irene along."

"With pleasure, Your Highness. I look forward to your visit to my warm home," Priest Louise replied sincerely.

After greeting Priest Louise and Priest Elis, Arielle turned towards her husband.

"Ronan, I’ll go now," she said.

Ronan stood up then asked permission from Priest Elis and Priest Louise to take his wife to the main door of Blackthorn Palace for five minutes. The two of them nodded in understanding. They waited in the same place for the king to return.

Ronan took his mask and put it back on. He held Arielle’s hand so they could walk while holding hands.

"Be careful on your way. If you need anything, you can tell William. If you are tired on the way, rest and don’t forget to fill your stomach," Ronan reminded Arielle.

Arielle nodded in understanding. "Thank you, I will remember it. Don’t forget to eat, Ronan. I know you’re getting busier because you have to finish all your work before the day of our trip. I’ll be back quickly."

Ronan let go of his wife’s hand and put his hand on her waist, pulling the girl closer. Several maids bowed their heads in respect to the king and queen as the two walked past them. Their lives were now so much brighter.

Lucas watched Arielle and Ronan leaving the palace towards the main door of the Blackthorn Palace with a smile. This was the day they had been wishing for. King Ronan had become gentler and less cold. They could even see the pink aura of love exuding from the two of them. It made the dark palace seem brighter. So did with the cold atmosphere that slowly became warm.

All of that thanks to the presence of Arielle who could change everything drastically.

Aimee and Irene were already waiting, and William was also ready with his horse.

"William, don’t forget to take good care of them."

"You can trust me."

"Use the crowded paths."

William rolled his eyes lazily. He could understand Ronan’s concern that the man didn’t want the carriage carrying his wife to travel through deserted paths as some of the dark, hard-to-reach areas had lots of bandits lurking in the shadows.

"I already know Northendell very well and I already know the safe path to go through," William answered.

Ronan nodded then allowed Arielle to get into the carriage. Irene looked back while waiting for Aimee to enter first. She glanced at her brother who was wearing a mask. She couldn’t see the man’s expression.

Embarrassed, Irene raised her hand and waved it quickly, making Ronan, who saw her sister’s shy attitude, smile brightly. Ronan approached Irene and rubbed the girl’s head, making her blush. Arielle who saw the interaction of the siblings also smiled.

"I go up first."

Ronan held Arielle’s hand and lifted his mask slightly for a short kiss.

"I’ll be waiting for you to come home," he replied, and it made Arielle blush. The girl immediately averted her face because she felt embarrassed for kissing in public. She hoped Irene didn’t see them. Then, Arielle let out a sigh of relief because Aimee covered Irene’s eyes while holding back her laughter.

Arielle got on the carriage to follow Irene and Aimee. The coachman closed the carriage door and asked Ronan permission to go now. Then, Arielle waved her hand, which Ronan replied with the same gesture.

The carriage began to move towards the palace gate. Inside the carriage, there was Namina, a priest apprentice who always accompanied Arielle on long journeys. Arielle wasn’t sure whether the young man would be of help because she was now able to regulate her own body temperature.

However, even if Arielle didn’t need Namina’s help, perhaps the young man could help Irene if it was needed.
