Lord of Pets-Chapter 47
Chapter 47: Personal Nameplate
Bai Wushang reached out and took it.
Due to the new rules that Xia Wanlong had created before the start of the trial, this personal nameplate was something that was temporarily added to everyone’s dimensional backpack. It had each person’s name and student number written on it.
According to the rules, the nameplate had to be kept by oneself. If another person touched it, the nameplate would change from coloured to grey, and the built-in signal transmitter would be activated.
This meant that the student corresponding to the nameplate admitted defeat, the trial would immediately end and an instructor would directly come and take him away.
The grey nameplate would become the winner’s trophy. If the final perfect clearance was achieved, it could be used to exchange for the corresponding student’s mystic energy points.
Of course, to prevent anyone from taking advantage of the situation, the fingerprint of the second person who handled the nameplate would be automatically engraved on it, ensuring that it could not be traded to a third person.
At the same time, during a fight between students, if one side decided to use a distress talisman to escape, eventually, the rescue instructor would make up the registration points for the winning student.
“Here, this is mine.”
Tuoba Lei handed over his nameplate and asked somewhat unwillingly, “What’s your name? After I train Da Zhuang for some time, I must come and challenge you again!”
“My surname is Bai, and my name is Wushang.”
Bai Wushang smiled casually. Although he was attacked first, through observation, the twins’ character was acceptable. At the very least, they were brave enough to admit defeat. They were not the kind of people who would do anything for their agenda, so he did not hate them.
“Bai Wushang…” Tuoba Lei repeated it twice and frowned slightly, “Why does this name sound a little familiar?”
“Eh, Xiao Lei, you think so too?” Tuoba Gan exchanged glances with him.
Bai Wushang did not continue this topic and asked, “I’m a little curious, how did the two of you get together under the rules of this trial?”
“Eh… part of it is luck, we happened to be in the same trial.”
Tuoba Gan answered honestly, “In addition, we have always had a mysterious connection since we were young. We could sense each other’s location from a certain distance and just like that, we met.”
Bai Wushang gave an ‘Oh’ and suddenly raised his head to look at the sky.
A huge black eagle was flying over with the Mountain and Sea Academy emblem hanging around its neck.
“Ths instructor is here to pick you up…”
Before he could finish, the huge eagle swooped down and grabbed Tuoba Lei and Tuoba Gan.
Before Bai Wushang could even see the instructor’s figure, the huge eagle raised a strong wind and flew up again, turning into a black dot and disappearing into the horizon.
“This instructor… is either impatient or has a bad temper. Isn’t he a little too wild?”
After muttering to himself, Bai Wushang recalled the Demon Ape and rode on the Red Horse.
…
Two hours later, Bai Wushang finally found the Swift Wind Sword Wolves.
At this moment, they were hiding in a small and dry cave. There was a pack of wolves moving the withered grass, and some seemed to have just returned from hunting. They were dragging an adult chrysanthemum deer in their mouths, each doing their job to prepare for their new lair.
“Eight… nine… ten… a total of ten adult Sword Wolves, plus a late youth form wolf, and three to four wolf cubs…”
Bai Wushang hid in the dark to spy, thinking, “The loss of the wolf pack is so serious. Even if this group of wolves swarmed forward, they wouldn’t be a match for Ah Zhou. So I don’t have to worry about the issue of combat power. What I should be thinking about is how to catch them all in one go.”
“… A direct attack won’t work. Ah Zhou can kill some of them before they’re caught off guard, but the rest of the wolf pack will scatter and flee. When they display their speed advantage, Ah Zhou won’t be able to catch up to them. At that time, it’ll become a search and pursuit battle. It’ll be too much of a waste of energy and time. It’s best to finish them off in one fell swoop…”
After pondering for a while, Bai Wushang decided on a plan.
…
Noon was the time when the light in the Mystic Realm was the strongest.
The pack of wolves retreated into the cave. A few adult Sword Wolves were lying lazily at the entrance of the cave, guarding everything around them.
Suddenly, one of the Sword Wolves at the front pricked up its ears, raised its head and squinted its eyes. It saw a black shadow streaking across the sky.
What was that?
Such a question flashed through the wolf’s mind. Before it could issue a warning, the black shadow had already landed at the entrance of the cave, one to two meters away from the pack of wolves.
“Pu!”
The black shadow exploded like a water ball, splashing out a large amount of ink-coloured juice and drenching the entrance of the cave. A few of the Sword Wolves were too slow to dodge and in the blink of an eye, their green fur turned black.
The calm was broken and the wolf pack was in chaos. Some were looking around in fear while others were huddled together.
At this moment, a burning wooden stick flew out of nowhere and fell to the ground.
Almost at the moment it touched the ink-coloured ground, the weak flame ignited into a monstrous fire, spreading in all directions along the direction where the ink was splashing, forming a dark red flame blockade.
“Ao!!! Woo!!!”
A few Sword Wolves that were dyed black by the ink were splashed by the sparks caused by the wind, and they spontaneously ignited in an instant. They rolled on the ground in pain and their shrill screams revealed the deepest level of despair, which made people’s hair stand on end.
Under the fear of death, the remaining Sword Wolves were completely messed up. The so-called concept of a race was thrown to the back of their minds. They stared at a narrow weak point of the flame, as if they were afraid of falling behind, and fought to pounce on it.
Outside, Bai Wushang rode on the Red Horse and charged.
Beside him, the Demon Ape stood on its hind legs and ran wildly with large strides.
“Ah Zhou, just do as I said. Kill every single one of them that come out. Be quick, don’t let any of them go!” Bai Wushang’s voice was hurried.
The Demon Ape roared and the killing intent in its eyes soared. Its speed increased by another notch, even surpassing the Red Horse’s speed.
The first Sword Wolf that came out of the flame blockade saw a black iron fist smashing towards it, hitting its nose heavily. Blood immediately flowed out of its seven orifices and its consciousness became scattered. Its two-meter-long body flew backwards with a loud bang and right into the raging flames.
The two Sword Wolves that followed closely behind instinctively wanted to scatter and escape.
Ah Zhou was quick-witted. It grabbed one of the wolves first, seized its hind legs and threw it over the other’s shoulder.
“Bang!”
The huge impact made the two Sword Wolves scream at the same time. Blood oozed out from their pores.
Then, the fourth, fifth and sixth… fre𝙚𝓌𝒆𝚋noѵel.c𝚘m
Under the illumination of the flames, Ah Zhou bathed in blood and fought like an undefeated God of War. It exterminated one Sword Wolf after another, completely cutting off their chances of survival.
Bai Wushang stood not far behind the Demon Ape. With the newly made two-meter long spear, he could occasionally act as an assistant and help stab one or two seriously injured Sword Wolves to death.
“Strange, where’s the late youth form alpha wolf?” 𝒇r𝙚𝙚𝓌𝙚𝑏𝗻𝑜𝘷𝗲𝘭.c૦𝑚
The pack of wolves died in battle one after another, but there was still no sign of the No. 2 wolf leader who had been promoted to the Wolf King. Bai Wushang could not help but feel a little suspicious.
As if responding to his thoughts, an even larger Sword Wolf suddenly leapt out from the flames on the other side and rolled twice in the mud to extinguish some of the flames on its body. Then, it panted heavily and ran for its life without looking back.
Bai Wushang’s eyes focused and he immediately shouted,
“Ah Zhou, go after it! Leave this to me!”
