Lord Game: I Have 100 Million Talents-Chapter 86 - 70: Eating Humans, Eating Ratmen, Frenzied Kobolds (Part 2)
’It’s more cost-effective to prioritize upgrading these buildings.’
’All I can say is...’
’...this is what you get with free unlocks.’
’The effects of these three new buildings are kind of a joke.’
’Oh.’
’Well, not entirely.’
’At least the Kitchen Master can improve my daily meals a little.’
’As for the Stone Carving Master and Woodcarving Master, besides making things to decorate my room, I can sell the finished products to some rich, gullible locals.’
’I could even create Chinese chess, something that has never appeared in the Lord World before. Maybe hold some international chess tournaments or whatever, and just rake in the cash...’
’But...’
’...knowing Mumu’s style...’
’...she’s probably already come up with this kind of money-making scheme.’
As he mulled things over, Qin Feng got back on the road. He led the Ratman Warriors and Desert Giant Wolves in packing up the camp and set off at a rapid pace toward Winter City.
Along the way, he summoned Ashes and had it use the Owl Spirit Body to issue an order to the villagers back in his territory: immediately upgrade all production buildings.
Any surplus construction resources were to be used to build Woodcutter’s Huts and Mine Cottages in a 1:1 ratio, and then upgrade them all to Level 2.
He also ordered them to build more Residential Buildings.
These were mainly for the villagers and Ratman Warriors he was about to recruit in the coming week.
Especially the Ratman Warriors.
If they didn’t have a good living environment and couldn’t sleep well for extended periods, they would fall into a "Fatigued" state.
Then their Attributes would plummet, affecting their combat effectiveness.
This was a problem that absolutely had to be avoided.
As for the Zoo Legion... they were all animals and Demon Beasts accustomed to a primitive life in the forest. They had no requirements for their living environment and could plop down on the grass for a perfectly sound sleep.
And so.
The evil capitalist Qin Feng decided not to build separate housing for them for the time being.
Only when his territory had an absolute abundance of construction resources would he consider putting the matter on his agenda to improve the "Black Slaves’" quality of life.
Then there were the Arrow Towers.
These things came with their own Tower Archers. While they had some defensive capability, they had no offensive power for exploration or expansion.
So, Qin Feng mainly used them to stand guard around his territory, preventing enemies from sneaking in for a surprise attack on his main base.
He had never considered spending a large amount of resources to upgrade them.
Walls.
Qin Feng wanted to build those, too.
But the "Wall" construction blueprint was currently on his person, a world away from his territory’s main hall. Unless he dispatched someone specifically to deliver it, there was no way the villagers could start construction anytime soon.
Besides, Qin Feng’s plans for the walls required input from Diablo; he would never just randomly draw a square and start building.
So.
After careful consideration.
He temporarily abandoned the idea of sending a Ratman Warrior back to the territory with the wall blueprint.
...
Two hours later, Qin Feng had handled all the miscellaneous tasks for his territory and arrived at the foot of Winter City, part of the White Wolf Empire.
Since the lord of Winter City, "Snow," was currently away.
The remaining Wolfmen lacked the authority to make decisions due to their rank.
So, Qin Feng didn’t enter Winter City. Instead, he circled its half-finished walls before heading toward the private territory of the Invincible Tyrannosaurus Warrior.
At that moment, Diablo and the Invincible Tyrannosaurus Warrior were already waiting at the magnificent city gates. When the latter spotted Qin Feng, he couldn’t contain his excitement and called out:
"Bro!"
"Big Bro!"
"You’re finally here!"
"Whoa!"
"So badass!"
"Your soldiers are so damn cool!"
"Compared to them, my Tier-2 Divine Chosen Soldiers look like a bunch of Boy Scouts with toy guns..."
Qin Feng didn’t want to waste time on pleasantries. He spoke directly to the Invincible Tyrannosaurus Warrior.
"Let’s go."
"Invincible Tyrannosaurus Warrior."
"Take me to the Kobolds who bullied you."
Hearing that Qin Feng was going to stand up for him, the Invincible Tyrannosaurus Warrior leaped up, his voice trembling with excitement.
"Huh?"
"Okay, bro!"
"No problem, bro!"
"Please help me beat the crap out of those moronic Kobolds!"
He paused, then added:
"Oh... right, Tingfeng, my real name is Long Zhongyi. You can just call me Long from now on."
Qin Feng waved a hand, acknowledging him.
Following Long Zhongyi’s lead, the group arrived at an underground mine not far from Winter City. Its entrance was a dark pit that seemed to lead straight to the planet’s core, a grim aura seeping from the cracks in its rock walls.
"This is it."
Long Zhongyi pointed at the black pit before them, his tone tinged with caution:
"Tingfeng, you should be careful."
"It’s very dark inside, and the terrain is extremely narrow. The passages are a complex maze, and even the Wolfmen don’t dare to venture deep inside."
Qin Feng didn’t respond, merely giving Diablo a look.
Diablo understood at once. He raised the Bone Whistle from his neck to his lips, and a piercing shriek cut through the air above the mine, alerting the Kobolds underground that they had "guests."
In an instant, a group of short, scimitar-wielding Kobolds surged out from the dark depths of the mine.
Covered in filth and reeking of a pungent stench, they viciously fixed their gazes on Diablo, who had blown the Bone Whistle.
"Hm?"
"A Ratman?"
"Instead of staying home licking your ancestors’ bones all day, what are you doing on King Rado’s territory?"
Before he could finish, another Kobold noticed Long Zhongyi standing beside Diablo. It instantly drew the scimitar from its waist, licked its lips, and sneered:
"Hey!"
"Look!"
"It’s that soft-skinned human!"
"I can’t believe this tasty morsel dared to show his face on our turf again!"
A nearby Kobold tapped its chest with the flat of its blade, a strange cackle rumbling in its throat:
"Interesting!"
"We have a pact with the Wolfmen!"
"We can’t run wild on their territory!"
"But since you left their territory and came to ours, those Wolfmen have no say in what happens to you now!"
It cocked its head, sizing up Long Zhongyi, its murky eyes gleaming with greed.
"Brothers!"
"Grab this soft-skinned human!"
"We’ll take him back and roast him!"
As it spoke, the Kobold glanced at Diablo, apparently completely oblivious to the ranks of Desert Giant Wolves and Ratman Warriors lined up behind him. It threatened viciously:
"Ratman!"
"If you dare stop us, we’ll finish you off too!"
"Ratman meat tastes terrible, all sour and stinky. But it makes for a decent appetizer now and then!"
"GHEHEHEH..."
But before the laughter could fade, a flash of green light tore through the air. Qin Feng’s longsword flashed out like lightning. As the blade passed, the Kobold’s head flew into the air amidst a warm spray of blood.
Before the other Kobolds could even react, he flickered between them, his blade a blur of cold light that instantly sliced three more in half at the waist.
The remaining Kobolds froze as if struck by lightning, then shrieked and scattered in all directions. Like scurrying cockroaches, they plunged into the pitch-black depths of the mine.
In the blink of an eye, they vanished into the labyrinthine tunnels, leaving behind only the spreading stench of blood and slime dripping down the cavern walls.
"HOLY SHIT!!!"
"TINGFENG!!!" 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
"YOU WERE SO FUCKING BADASS!!!"
Long Zhongyi’s shout was almost loud enough to bring down the mine.
Qin Feng, however, simply held up a hand, cutting Long Zhongyi’s cry short.
He turned to look at Diablo and instructed:
"The terrain in here is too narrow. The Desert Giant Wolves can’t get in, and it’s not suitable for fighting with long-hafted weapons."
"Go pick out the Ratman Warriors in the squad who are carrying Bone Blades and daggers."
"Come into the mine with me."
"Once we’re inside."
"I’ll clear the way at the very front."
"You don’t need to help me directly. Just stop any enemies from behind and keep me from getting surrounded."
Diablo nodded.
"Yes."
"My Lord."
With that, Diablo relayed Qin Feng’s orders to the ranked-up Ratman Warriors. He then selected thirteen of them armed with short-hafted weapons, who followed Qin Feng and leaped into the pitch-black mine.
The remaining Ratman Warriors took the initiative to surround Long Zhongyi, their deep voices cold and metallic:
"Lord Violent Dragon."
"Some Kobolds might rush out of this underground entrance trying to ambush you."
"You should move back a bit."
"Let us deal with them."
