Lord Evolution: Starting With SS-rank Skills-Chapter 230: Migration ( 80 )
Bryce and the others were still trying to understand the situation when Rowan arrived and barked an order at them, causing a ripple of panic.
Rowan, on the other hand, was greeted by the sight of hundreds of his soldiers lying unconscious on the ground. He could see blood dripping from their ears and eyes. Immediately, he grasped the gravity of the situation — the scream of the Forest Eater had reached them!
"What was I expecting in the first place? Of course it would reach them," Rowan thought, feeling as though he were facepalming right then.
"Now what?" he wondered aloud.
The unevolved soldiers lay unconscious, and the evolved soldiers didn’t seem to possess the strength to walk, let alone run.
"System, how long would it take to get these soldiers moving again?" he asked.
[For the ordinary soldiers, 5 hours. For the evolved, two hours max.]
"Still too long! Is there anything I can do to hasten the process?"
[There are several methods to, but you currently do not possess the resources to pull it off.]
"Crap!!"
Rowan returned his gaze to the evolved soldiers, who stared at him with curiosity and confusion in their eyes.
"Lord Rowan? What is happening? That sound—where was it coming from?"
Rowan sighed and strolled over to them while his mind raced through every possible way to lead his men away from the Forest Eater.
"There is a monster powerful enough to nuke the entire Winterseed in a matter of seconds. Its name is Forest Eater. It is more than three times stronger than all of our combined strength; we can’t even dare to piss it off."
"The sound you heard earlier was just its scream. Look at what it has done. What do you think its actual attack would cause?"
Rowan explained the might of the Forest Eater vividly. He went as far as to give a clear description of the monster’s appearance and height, painting an even scarier picture in their minds.

"There is something that strong in this forest??" Bryce asked, his voice trembling.
Rowan nodded. "And that Forest Eater is only the lower class of its kind, meaning there are others far stronger than it. We’ve only grazed the entrance of the dark forest. There are more powerful monsters and mysteries yet to be seen."
The soldiers exchanged looks, sharing the same question in their eyes.
Bryce and a few soldiers tried to stand after sitting for more than ten minutes. After three minutes of trying and failing, they finally succeeded, only to lose balance and fall back to the ground.
They looked to Rowan for help.
Rowan could only shake his head.
"Try your best to regain your composure as soon as you can, and when you do, help the other soldiers escape this place as fast as possible. Run towards the entrance," he instructed.
"What about you, Lord Rowan?" Winston asked.
"I’ll keep watch on the Forest Eater. It is currently not moving, so we would’ve heard its loud footsteps if it were coming this way. Do not worry about me; while I can’t defeat it, I can escape from it with ease."
Rowan spoke with them for two extra minutes before making his way back to the location of the Forest Eater.
As soon as he left, the evolved soldiers began muttering among themselves.

Some even began shivering, scared that death would approach them very soon.
They could only pray in their hearts that Lord Rowan would survive. If not, they would all be doomed!
"We are this strong and yet there are monsters with power beyond our imaginations!" Bryce voiced his thoughts.
"No matter how strong we grow, there will always be someone or something naturally above us. We need to grow even stronger..." he continued.
Winston sat beside Bryce, replaying his words in his head. Bryce was one hundred percent correct. The combined strength of the Winterseed army might not be enough to take down Lord Rowan.
But now, even their combined strengths with Lord Rowan’s immense power wouldn’t be able to defeat a monster like this.
"What if I possessed magic powers as strong as D’andre’s?" Winston muttered to himself.
"Maybe when Lord Rowan returns, I will ask what it takes to become a mage. I know it’s going to be painful, but I don’t mind. I still need to exact my revenge on the bastard who took my little brother from me!" he concluded.
Meanwhile, Rowan made his way back to the spot where they had encountered the Forest Eater.
He walked as slowly and as silently as possible, not wanting to draw the attention of the Forest Eater.
Thanks to his superior sight, avoiding noisy paths and obstacles was a walk through the park.
He proceeded cautiously — he could already see the gigantic head of the Forest Eater, making it easier to avoid its line of sight.
He got close enough to hide behind the bark of a huge tree.
"It is still in the same position as when I left. Strange," Rowan remarked as he watched the Forest Eater silently.
Even now, there was no movement from the monster.
If Rowan couldn’t access its character status, he might have thought the Forest Eater was dead. But its health was still at a full one hundred percent!
Its status still displayed [Pissed off, hungry].
It should naturally be trashing around angrily in search of food.
The more time Rowan spent watching the monster, the stranger it became.
He was still watching when he noticed movement, though not from the Forest Eater itself.
Rowan furrowed his brows and focused on the shoulder of the Forest Eater.
"Wtf!" Rowan cursed under his breath.
On the shoulder of the Forest Eater stood a dark-robed figure, surrounded by menacingly dark auras that didn’t escape his eclipse vision.
The dark-robed figure scanned the surrounding area.
It then looked in Rowan’s direction.
Rowan spotted a face, for the figure wasn’t wearing a mask—a face that made his eyes widen in surprise.
