Chapter 93: One Night Off, Please

‘If only I could have nine tails....’

All the creatures of the world would bow at her feet, worshipping her magnificence.

Lost in these grandiose daydreams, Sohwa didn’t even notice time slipping away.

It wasn’t until Dohwi’s return that she reluctantly set the fan down.

‘I should keep this in a safe place.’

Against the pitch-black ceiling, the nine majestic fox tails seemed to shimmer with mischief.

Late into the night, Dohwi finally returned to the bedroom.

For some reason, Sohwa, who should have been sound asleep by now, was still awake.

Yet, despite her husband’s arrival, she didn’t bother to look his way.

Dohwi opened and shut the door again, deliberately making it creak, but the response was the same.

From where she lay on her side, all he got was a faint huff of breath: “Hmph!”

“What’s got my little pup so upset?”

“...I told you, I’m a fox.”

Grumbling indignantly, Sohwa suddenly kicked off the comforter and sat upright.

“Ugh, it’s because you keep treating me like a puppy that the servants think they can look down on me!”

“Who’s looking down on you?”

Sohwa knew that answering such a question required naming names, but she couldn’t bring herself to pinpoint anyone specifically.

“Who’s daring enough to look down on you?”

Dohwi pressed.

“....”

“Seems it’s time to replace some of the servants.”

Cold air seemed to radiate from Dohwi as he sat down beside her, as though he’d just returned from a hunt.

The warm bed suddenly felt like a tiger’s den.

“Who should I dismiss first? Woongsik?”

“There’s no need to dismiss anyone... I was just speaking generally.”

Sohwa cleared her throat awkwardly.

“Anyway, how was your visit to Lady Beomhee?”

At the mention of Beomhee’s name, a faint scowl marred Dohwi’s otherwise elegant features.

“You won’t have to worry about the White Tiger showing up in front of you ever again.”

“Is that so? Well, that’s a relief.”

As Dohwi gazed intently at her, he slid closer and gently wrapped his arms around her.

“You must have been so frightened, my little pup.”

Avoiding his gaze, Sohwa slipped back under the blanket.

“Yawn... I’m exhausted from waiting for you, so I’ll be going to sleep now. Dohwi, you should get some rest too.”

She thought she could end the conversation there, but... a heavy hand slid around her waist.

“I’m sorry, Sohwa. I made you worry about things you shouldn’t have had to because of me.”

Soft kisses followed the line of her slender neck, wet and deliberate.

His lips, increasingly daring, began to stray beneath her undergarment.

“As penance, I want to dedicate myself to serving you until morning.”

“Going to sleep would be service enough.”

Despite her protests, the relentless tiger burrowed into her arms.

“You smell so lovely tonight. It must be the season—autumn, after all.”

For both humans and beasts, autumn was the season of fertility.

Both foxes and tigers typically went into heat during the winter.

“Ah, you’re so sweet and soft....”

“D-Dohwi!”

The damned tiger eventually climbed atop her.

Sohwa shivered under the firm grip on her delicate wrists.

“Shall we practice making a baby? It’s good to be prepared before using the orb.”

“Practice? We’ve been doing this every night! What more preparation do we need?”

“Just need to loosen things up a bit.”

Startled by his low reply, Sohwa barely managed to grab his wrist.

“I went through a lot today! My body is exhausted.”

“I know. That’s why I’m here to take care of your tired body.”

What nonsense! A single night with Dohwi left her unable to sleep before dawn, no matter how early they started.

And as for that damnable ‘thing’ of his—no matter how often they did this, she could never get used to it.

“Dohwi, have some self-control. Let’s just sleep tonight, okay? We did it yesterday, the day before, and the day before that! Didn’t we agree to take a break?”

Having a harmonious married life was certainly a good thing, but keeping up with Dohwi’s stamina was an impossible task.

After relentless pleading, Sohwa had managed to secure a precious agreement: one day of rest after every three nights.

Yet, the ever-dutiful Dohwi seemed to have suddenly forgotten their deal.

“Did we do it the day before yesterday? I don’t remember.”

“You do remember! We made a promise, Dohwi!”

Feigning ignorance, he acted as though their agreed-upon break didn’t exist.

“I’m the one who passed out while doing it—how could YOU forget?”

“Maybe it wasn’t satisfying enough. You finished too quickly.” freewebnσvel.cøm

“Ugh!”

“I wasn’t even able to finish, so of course I’d be dissatisfied.”

The hands lifting her undergarments and gripping her hips were unrelenting.

Panicking, Sohwa shook her head.

“We made a deal, remember? Breaking a promise is the act of a scoundrel.”

Dohwi let out a sly chuckle, his lips curling into a wicked smile.

Leaning close, he whispered as his tongue brushed her ear.

“That sounds exactly like something a rascal like I would do, my little pup. Now, turn over.”
