Livestream: Awakening as Kaitō Kid, Shocking the World-Chapter 68: Welcome to the Eagle Nation!
Chapter 68 - 68: Welcome to the Eagle Nation!
The Enforcement Bureau was carrying out strict inspections at the airport, and the ones who suffered were the wanted criminals lurking among the crowd.
By the time Zhang Yang arrived at the airport, two fugitives had already been captured, and the man he just saw being tackled was the third.
None of this made Zhang Yang nervous. His documents had already been inspected earlier—and there were no issues.
What surprised Zhang Yang was that after boarding the plane, he spotted Harrison.
"Harrison? He's chasing me all the way to the Eagle Nation?"
Until now, Zhang Yang hadn't thought Harrison would go so far as to personally pursue him across the Atlantic.
Clearly, he had underestimated Harrison's determination.
Harrison had split his team into four groups, each taking a different flight.
Coincidentally, he and Zhang Yang were on the same one.
After the plane took off and stabilized, Harrison and another agent stood up from their seats.
"Excuse me, everyone. I'm Harrison from the MI5 Investigation Bureau. This is my badge."
Harrison swiftly pulled out his identification and flashed it for everyone to see.
"We have reason to believe there's a world-class thief aboard. We ask for your cooperation while we check everyone's documents."
The moment the passengers learned his identity, the cabin erupted into hushed whispers.
"Harrison? Isn't he after Kaitō Kid?"
"Oh my god! Is Kaitō Kid actually on our flight?"
"Haven't you seen Kaitō Kid's latest post? He said he was heading to the Eagle Nation. Harrison must be chasing after him!"
"Oh shit! So it's true—Kaitō Kid really is coming to the Eagle Nation!"
Harrison and the agent split up, beginning to check the passengers' documents one by one—even the flight attendants weren't spared.
And unlike the cursory checks by the Enforcement Bureau earlier, they were using a portable device that scanned IDs and verified whether the documents were properly registered and valid.
"Seriously? They're going this hardcore?"
Now, Zhang Yang was starting to get a little concerned.
He had a pile of passports and IDs in his vault, but he wasn't entirely sure if they could pass Harrison's thorough inspection.
Quietly, Zhang Yang exchanged a super smoke bomb from the points store, just in case he needed a quick escape.
Soon, it was his turn.
Beep—
Harrison scanned Zhang Yang's documents. The device lit up green—verification successful. fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm
Without any suspicion, Harrison returned the documents to Zhang Yang and moved on to the next passenger.
In no time, every passenger on the plane had been checked.
And there were no problems found with anyone.
Harrison frowned deeply. Although it had always been a bit of a gamble, not finding Kaitō Kid still left him frustrated and disappointed.
Seeing this, Zhang Yang kindly offered a reminder.
"Director Harrison, you haven't checked the cockpit crew yet."
"Kaitō Kid can fly helicopters. Maybe he's posing as one of the pilots?"
The moment Zhang Yang said that, the entire cabin erupted in agreement.
"Yeah, it's totally possible he disguised himself as the captain!"
"Director Harrison, are you sure you don't want to check the cockpit?"
"You can't afford a single mistake when it comes to catching Kaitō Kid. He always pulls off the most unexpected tricks!"
"Director Harrison, I strongly recommend you don't leave anyone unchecked!"
As for the captain and the co-pilot in the cockpit, Harrison hadn't actually overlooked them.
It was just that he thought Kaitō Kid wouldn't go so far as to impersonate a commercial airline pilot.
But now, that certainty wavered.
He couldn't be sure whether Kaitō Kid could fly a plane—but when it came to Kaitō Kid, any uncertainty basically meant it was entirely possible.
Harrison's face was dark as he said nothing, leading the agent straight toward the cockpit.
Sitting in his seat, Zhang Yang smiled faintly. He actually believed it.
"I could've just taken the flight normally. Why would I go through the trouble of flying a plane myself?"
Soon, Harrison and the agent returned from the cockpit.
As expected, both the captain and the co-pilot were clean. Harrison sat back down with an even darker face.
After the plane landed, Zhang Yang figured it was only polite to send a little greeting.
After all, chasing him from Britain to the Eagle Nation wasn't an easy feat.
He wrote a short message on a card and had a white dove deliver it directly to Harrison.
At that moment, Harrison was meeting with the Eagle Nation's FBI, engaged in polite conversation.
Suddenly, a white dove flew in and landed on Harrison's shoulder.
When Harrison saw the card in the dove's beak, his whole face changed.
"Shit!"
He gritted his teeth and cursed.
On the back of the card was Kaitō Kid's iconic logo, which Harrison recognized instantly.
"Dear Harrison, it was truly a surprise sharing the same flight with you. Welcome to the Eagle Nation. I look forward to seeing your next performance!"
After reading the message, Harrison nearly exploded with rage.
He had seriously believed that Zhang Yang wasn't on the flight after checking every passenger's documents.
Now, knowing the truth, he was filled with regret—and even more furious at Zhang Yang's blatant provocation.
The FBI team leader, Frank, frowned and asked, "Director Harrison, what happened?"
Harrison handed over the card.
"Captain Frank, this is from Kaitō Kid."
"He was on the same flight as me... and I didn't even notice!"
Frank read the message, and his face immediately darkened too.
"Oh shit!"
"Director Harrison, Kaitō Kid is way too arrogant!"
"How could you not have spotted him?"
Harrison was left speechless. If he knew how, he would've caught him on the plane already.
Kaitō Kid was now recognized globally as a top-class thief. So the moment the Eagle Nation received word that Zhang Yang was coming, they had assigned the FBI to the case and were more than happy to cooperate with MI5's Investigation Bureau.
Although Harrison's past attempts had all failed, when it came to knowledge about Kaitō Kid, no one dared claim to know more than he did.
"Director Harrison, let's return to the branch office first and discuss further."
Seeing that Harrison's mood was already foul, Frank decided not to press him for now.
Still, letting someone slip away right under their noses on the same flight had completely shattered Frank's good impression of Harrison.
Frank led Harrison and his team to a nearby FBI branch, where everything had already been prepared in advance.
Although they didn't yet know what Kaitō Kid was planning to steal, based on his past targets, it would definitely be a world-class treasure.
The Eagle Nation wasn't about to underestimate him—they were already preparing on full alert.
Frank also understood the significance of this capture mission.
However, after learning that Kaitō Kid had shared the same flight with Harrison and still escaped undetected, his confidence in Harrison had definitely taken a hit.
"Director Harrison, based on your understanding of Kaitō Kid, what do you think we should do next?"
Even though Harrison had just suffered another humiliating loss, Frank still maintained basic courtesy and sincerely sought his opinion.
