Chapter 180: Chapter 180: Everything Happens at Once

"System, check in."

After Xu Yi finished speaking, a light screen lit up in front of him.

It’s been 47 days, and in two more days, he could receive a new low-level gift package.

There’s still 14 days until the monthly gift package.

Xu Yi looked forward to the monthly gift package even more, curious about what kind of progress it could bring him.

days, it’s about to end.

Thinking about this, Xu Yi felt that time passed quite quickly, and before he knew it, he had spent more than forty days at this camp.

Throughout these forty days, despite many crises, he and Lu Ke managed to tough it out.

Initially, Xu Yi thought that taking care of Lu Ke, who didn’t know when she might die, wouldn’t last long, at most he’d scrape together that hundred thousand dollars.

Then he could act as a copycat, bringing over novelkisss, music, and films from Earth, and earn money that he wouldn’t be able to spend in a lifetime. Then, using the system, he could live for a few thousand years, experiencing every profession and lifestyle.

Unexpectedly, he and Lu Ke held on until now and were doing pretty well, living quite easily.

So, he felt that he and Lu Ke had a very good chance of lasting 500 days.

Moreover, the odds were increasingly in their favor because he’d be receiving more and more gift packages. Naturally, he would become stronger and stronger.

If he couldn’t last 500 days under these conditions, then it was even less likely for any other team to succeed in the challenge.

So, experiencing other lives would have to wait until after the 500 days. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶

After completing the check-in, Xu Yi fetched a bucket of water, intending to take a bath.

After the bath, Xu Yi went to bed.

Before sleeping, Xu Yi touched Lu Ke’s forehead.

The fever had subsided somewhat and wasn’t as scalding hot as before.

This was good news, and Xu Yi couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief.

Not long after lying down, Xu Yi fell asleep.

The next day, when Xu Yi woke up, Lu Ke was just about to get out of bed.

"How are you feeling, any better?" Xu Yi immediately asked, since he had slept rather deeply and hadn’t woken up during the night.

"It seems like I’ve caught a cold, my head and throat hurt a little, my whole body feels weak, but the fever is gone," Lu Ke described in detail.

She’d had a dream in the morning, dreaming that her cancer had relapsed, and Xu Yi had given up the challenge to save her.

So she was startled awake.

Xu Yi quickly got up and felt Lu Ke’s forehead.

The temperature was relatively normal, indicating she probably didn’t have a fever anymore.

"No worries, drink some peppermint water today, and you should feel better," Xu Yi told Lu Ke, and then he went out to prepare some peppermint water for her.

Lu Ke went to the bathroom and discovered that her menstrual period had also arrived.

Having all these issues at once made her rather frustrated.

During menstruation, it was best to avoid drinking peppermint water.

However, there weren’t any other herbs to treat the cold.

Coming out of the bathroom, Lu Ke saw Xu Yi practicing the Eighteen Forms of Body Strengthening.

Lu Ke sat on a stump, recalling how she had practiced the Eighteen Forms of Body Strengthening forty or fifty times yesterday and began to regret it a bit.

Maybe she had overdone it, thinking the Eighteen Forms could stop her diarrhea.

Though the diarrhea stopped, other problems came up.

She wasn’t defeated by these little ailments but felt guilty about wasting time and not being able to work with Xu Yi, fearing it might disrupt Xu Yi’s plans.

After finishing a few rounds of the Eighteen Forms of Body Strengthening, Xu Yi stopped, looked at Lu Ke, and asked, "What’s wrong?"

"My period came, it all piled up together, I’m so useless," she confessed to Xu Yi, knowing that hiding it would be even worse for him.

"Don’t say that, you’re already amazing. Don’t overthink it, okay?" Xu Yi said as he moved to the stove and poured hot water into a clay basin.

"Come on, freshen up and get ready for breakfast. After breakfast, go lie down and rest. When you’re sick, you need extra rest, not to mention you’re on your period," Xu Yi said, handing the clay basin with warm water to Lu Ke.

"Xu Yi..." Lu Ke’s eyes filled with tears instantly.

"Alright, go wash your face, don’t think too much about it. Everybody gets under the weather sometimes; we’re not robots," Xu Yi said with a smile, heading over to start the fire.

He still needed to cook potatoes for Lu Ke’s breakfast and brew peppermint water.

Even though it was Lu Ke’s period, he thought she could still drink a bit of peppermint water to alleviate the cold symptoms.

After freshening up, Lu Ke saw Xu Yi munching on jerky in front of the earth stove.

"Wait a moment, I’m cooking some potatoes for you, they’re not ready yet," Xu Yi said, taking a sip of hot water and continuing to chew on the jerky.

Lu Ke nodded and sat nearby, waiting.

The sunshine on her skin was still a bit harsh, but it was much gentler compared to the previous day.

After sunbathing for a while, Lu Ke felt somewhat better.

"Here, eat some potatoes. After you’re done, drink some peppermint water and then go rest. You need to recover quickly so you can work," Xu Yi said, placing the potatoes and peppermint tea down before heading back to work.

There were so many flax plants to peel, and Xu Yi was pretty busy.

A lot of jerky was hanging underneath the greenhouse, enough to last for at least 20 days, so Xu Yi wasn’t in a hurry to go hunting.

As for earning points, Xu Yi had no solution for that at the moment. Lu Ke was still sick, so he couldn’t just leave her to fend for herself.

What if some animal attacked?

If Lu Ke got eliminated, Xu Yi would be eliminated too.

They were a team, not separate entities where one could stay if the other left.

If this rule didn’t exist, many people might prefer being alone.

But not Xu Yi; being alone too long could drive someone insane.

Loneliness is very frightening.

Anyway, Xu Yi didn’t see himself as someone who could handle solitude.

So no matter what, Xu Yi would never abandon Lu Ke.

After eating the potatoes and drinking the peppermint water, Lu Ke handed the remaining potato to Xu Yi.

"I’m full, you can eat this," Lu Ke knew Xu Yi was usually reluctant to cook potatoes. But after she fell ill, she’d already had two servings.

"No, save it for your lunch. You should eat light for now," Xu Yi refused and continued peeling flax, working even faster than Lu Ke usually did.

This speed was greatly influenced by his increased agility.

Xu Yi hoped for more improvements like this.

He wondered what kind of gift package he would receive after checking in past midnight.

Would there be a package to enhance these aspects?
