Chapter 161: Chapter 161: Another Gift Pack

"Such a big python, how can you handle it alone? Don’t worry about me, if it’s really inconvenient, I’ll help you on the side." Xu Yi grinned, unwilling to let Lu Ke work so hard by herself.

"Let me go get some snake meat first. You didn’t eat much this morning, and battling the giant python consumed a lot of energy. You must be hungry." As she spoke, Lu Ke picked up the machete next to Xu Yi’s hand; her dagger was still over by the Calamity Python’s corpse.

"Alright, be careful and take the crossbow with you." Xu Yi instructed, feeling a bit hungry himself.

"Yeah, I’ll be careful." With that, Lu Ke took the machete and crossbow and left Su Yan and the others’ camp.

Xu Yi leaned against the side, rubbing his thigh.

Oh right, I haven’t clocked in today yet. I haven’t claimed the 7-day gift package.

"System, clock in!"

"Ding, 7-day clock in completed, received a Basic Gift Package."

Xu Yi squinted and then dug out the Bone Wolf Hide from the basket, crawled into the rock cave, and laid out the Bone Wolf Hide.

"System, open the gift package."

"Ding! Received Basic Massage Techniques Package (Basic)!"

Basic massage techniques?

Xu Yi didn’t expect such a package; it seems somewhat useless!

Could it even be used for self-massage?

Back, shoulders, any reachable area?

Xu Yi felt this package didn’t seem very useful.

It’s not like last time’s Storage Space; the two are on completely different levels.

However, since it’s received, Xu Yi naturally instructed the system to absorb the knowledge from this package.

"Promotes blood circulation and removes stasis, regulates energy and alleviates pain, dispels dampness and supports health—quite a variety of effects." Xu Yi murmured to himself, then moved his hands, preparing to test its effectiveness.

His left thigh was experiencing continuous pain, just right to test it out.

Placing his hand on the thigh, Xu Yi pressed and massaged using special techniques.

After a dozen minutes, Xu Yi surprisingly felt no pain anymore.

This indicates the massage techniques offered by the system are incredibly effective.

Though he couldn’t reach his back himself, he could use them on others!

"Xu Yi, I’m back." Lu Ke’s voice rang out.

"Coming." Xu Yi responded and then walked out of the rock cave.

Lu Ke brought back a large chunk of cleaned meat and also managed to bring back a small wooden stake.

"Xu Yi, the python’s meat seems particularly fishy, not sure if it’s edible." Lu Ke said to Xu Yi as she started putting on her clothes.

After baking and sun exposure, she had already dried them.

Xu Yi also dressed and watched as Lu Ke cut the python meat into chunks and put them in the pot to boil.

The fishy smell was indeed quite strong.

"It seems to be getting even fishier." Lu Ke frowned; she had eaten many types of animals but never encountered such a situation.

Xu Yi nodded, having not anticipated such a situation either.

"Let’s see when it’s cooked." Xu Yi said, moving to the side, it was so fishy, he felt as though he was at a fish market.

After a dozen minutes, both picked up chopsticks.

Xu Yi first grabbed a piece and stuffed it into his mouth.

"Ugh."

With just one bite, Xu Yi spat it out.

The taste felt like he had bitten into rotten fish, his stomach churned immediately.

"It’s inedible, this meat is inedible, throw it away, throw it away." Holding his mouth, he ran outside, vomiting intensely.

Lu Ke frowned and took the pot, along with leftover unboiled meat, outside to toss it farther away, as they might still camp here tonight.

"Finally seeing them not saying it’s tasty, fresh, and sweet."

"Upstairs, this is schadenfreude, not good, not good!"

"How fishy must it be to make Xu Yi vomit like that?"

"Damn, watching him vomit makes me want to vomit too."

"I thought Xu Yi and Lu Ke earned thousands of pounds of food; now it seems this food is going to waste."

"Such a pity, if this meat were edible, they wouldn’t have to worry about food for months."

"Maybe it won’t be so fishy after curing?"

"Most likely, Xu Yi will give up this meat. After all, meat that’s inedible isn’t worth preserving. They catch prey regularly now."

After vomiting for a while, Xu Yi returned, dressed, and took out the three rabbits from the basket; they needed processing too lest they begin to rot.

As for the python meat, it’s probably useless now, but Xu Yi felt the snake skin might still be useful, so he planned to go strip it off.

"Xu Yi, why did you come out?" Lu Ke was going to the lake to clean the steel pot when she noticed Xu Yi coming along.

"I’m going to strip off the python skin; though the meat’s inedible, the skin is still useful." Xu Yi explained.

"Leave it to me, you’re still injured." Lu Ke said worriedly.

"No worries, it’s just a minor pain. Handle the rabbits for me, I’ll go strip the skin." With that, he handed the rabbits to Lu Ke and headed toward the Calamity Python.

The fishy stench was intense, Xu Yi frowned and started stripping the skin.

It wasn’t easy to strip off the Calamity Python’s skin, even with Lu Ke assisting, it took them more than an hour to peel the snake skin completely.

After washing, Xu Yi and Lu Ke laid the snake skin out by the lake to dry.

Then, Xu Yi and Lu Ke returned to Su Yan and Lu Ke’s camp.

Just as they arrived at camp, a dozen animals appeared by the lake.

These animals were exceedingly large, like buffalo.

Crucially, they were a group of carnivorous animals, looking exceptionally ferocious.

This troupe of carnivores seemed attracted by the Calamity Python’s corpse.

In the camp, Lu Ke looked at Xu Yi in confusion.

Because Xu Yi had brought back dozens of pounds of Calamity Python meat.

"Come, let’s slice this meat and cure it; let’s see if curing it can remove the fishy smell." Xu Yi said to Lu Ke, then pulled out his dagger and began slicing the python meat.

With thousands of pounds of meat, Xu Yi felt it would be tragic to let it go to waste, so he wanted to see if curing would change the situation.

Lu Ke said nothing, quietly helping.

Though she thought the chances were slim. The fishy smell was unbearable even without consumption. She suspected even the snake skin they peeled off wouldn’t be usable due to the stench.

Lu Ke and Xu Yi were unaware that danger was approaching again—a group of dangerous carnivores appeared at the lakeside.
