Live Streaming: Great Adventure in the Wilderness-Chapter 750 - 747 We Still Have a Chance
Before surveillance, three times over and then three times more.
Andrew Stumpf first reviewed the footage at sixteen times speed, but came up empty-handed. He then proceeded to view it at eight times speed, and four times speed.
After watching nearly two hours of footage, Stumpf finally confirmed that the target hadn't passed through this road, and had not appeared on several nearby crossroads either.
How had they come here?
On foot?
Had they abandoned their vehicle?
It wasn't impossible.
The command center began to contemplate once again.
"How many times has it been now?"
Analyst Owen suddenly asked.
"I've lost count," Teresa sighed deeply, leaning back in her chair and stretching, revealing a more pronounced body curve, feeling utterly exhausted by the chase.
Dealing with professionals was like that, many technological approaches were simply of no use. When left in the dark, all they could do in their office was to be at a loss for actions.
In reality, there was no Sherlock Holmes who could catch a person just by deduction.
Seeing the morale of the people somewhat low, Robert, as the chairperson and the leader of the team, had to stand up and encourage everyone, "Don't be discouraged."
The crowd took a deep breath and quietly watched Robert.
"The fugitives indeed have been lucky enough to avoid capture a few times, and they are indeed very professional. But don't forget, we too are professionals. I believe each of you has seen it, and you all know."
"To keep one's information from being leaked, indeed various methods can be employed, but how exhausting is that endeavor?"
"You must be constantly vigilant, walking on thin ice, and overcome a bunch of troubles.
In the end, live like a real fugitive, a wild man.
All those on the run must move through the darkness, and you understand, I mean the actual darkness, like rats in the sewer.
"Anything powered by electricity must be kept at bay

You have to go back to the Stone Age.
Maybe for a short period, it can be done, not only by them but any one of us, as we all have enough experience and skill. But how many can truly sustain that for the long term?"
Owen tugged at the corner of his mouth, wanting to say something, but seeing the encouraging demeanor Robert had towards everyone, he kept his thoughts to himself.
Chairperson, have you forgotten? Our target is a Wilderness Survivalist expert. He survived for a hundred days in the Arctic, in a place where birds don't even bother to shit!
A full hundred days!
But the next second, Robert's words straightened Owen's thoughts, as if he had seen through everything.
"I know he lived in the Arctic for a hundred days, his survival skills staggeringly incredible, but I also know one thing, humans absolutely cannot detach themselves from society!"
"Haven't you all noticed something? If the suspect really wanted to escape, why would they risk withdrawing money this morning? They knew full well that the bank card had a pre-set alarm!" Owen, you are the analyst, speculate."
Robert extended his hand, giving the opportunity to senior analyst Ben Owen. He trusted that with Owen's ability, he could certainly deduce the meaning.
It took Owen only a moment of thought to align with the implication of Robert's last words: "The suspect doesn't want to end the whole game easily by relying on their survival skills."
Owen paused, returned to his desk, and began searching through files. Eventually, he found one and passed it around to everyone.
"This file contains some of the experiences and deeds of our target from the past. Honestly, it's so thrilling it could be read as a novel."
"An average person would be proud to have just one of these accomplishments to boast about to their descendants, but he has managed it almost every time."
"Of course, now is not the time to discuss that. From this information, we can see that our opponent has an extremely strong ability to handle situations!"
"In any adverse environment, the target can accurately find the optimal solution and resolve it in a relatively relaxed manner. He has strong stress resistance, superior physical fitness, an extremely varied skill set, knowledge that's nearly encyclopedic..."
"A person like this, if they truly wanted to win, could simply lead people deep into Primeval Forest. Los Angeles has many national parks, most of which don't have too many dangerous creatures, and at the same time, they're completely cut off from technology."
The crowd couldn't help but nod in agreement.
Junior fugitives think only of escaping.
They devise escape plans, follow them step by step, ask friends for help, hide out at relatives' or friends' houses, and if one doesn't work out, they move to another.
Intermediate fugitives understand how to hide.
They continually change locations, use disposable phones to make contact, avoid relatives and friends, and seek help from strangers; or they go camping, living far from civilized society as Wilderness Survivalists.
Senior fugitives, in addition to escaping and hiding, also need to learn how to match wits and bravery with the Hunter—this is typically the level portrayed in movies and TV shows.
Junior, intermediate, senior—they don't represent the quality of the methods but rather the degree of difficulty in handling these methods for professionals, a universal rule.
But if our Bi Fang were to choose the means of an intermediate fugitive, the difficulty of capturing him would skyrocket instantly, elevating him to the level of a super fugitive!
With the capabilities of those present, catching him would be almost impossible.
What a joke, ordinary people lost in the mountains can't even be found by deploying troops, let alone our thirty-five-person team.
If they were that capable, they might as well join a search and rescue team. So many people go missing every year, most of them wealthy, and there's plenty of money to be made in finding them.
The reason choosing Wilderness Survival is only considered an intermediate fugitive tactic is entirely due to the survivors' lack of ability.
For those fugitives, enduring a few days is possible, but one week, two weeks—who could stand it? Once supplies run out, it's a waiting game until death, and in the end, capture is inevitable.
If Bi Fang truly wanted to escape, he could have just gone straight ahead, no need to conceal anything, abandoned his car, and delved deep into the mountains.
"But based on the target's current location, he's not doing that, so there can be only one explanation: the target doesn't want to use his strongest abilities to solve the problem. Instead, he's opting for a more 'spectacle-driven' way to escape pursuit, becoming a senior fugitive!"
"He'll stay in the cities, completing his final objective in more comfortable surroundings."
"To live in a civilized society as a modern person, conveniently and comfortably, also means inevitably leaking one's privacy—it's just a matter of time!"
Owen's analysis was so spot-on and compelling that it almost made people want to applaud.
In modern society, surveillance has become normalized.
Cameras everywhere, various recognition devices, and the rumored but unseen "personal profiles"...
Avoiding these requires a tremendous amount of effort.
Compared to the first group, the remaining eight teams were practically a sight for sore eyes, evidently worn out from running around everywhere—proof of this fact.
The opponent's stamina couldn't possibly exceed that of thirty-five people; flaws would eventually show.
Everyone perked up, regaining their confidence.
Robert leaned forward on the table, his gaze sweeping the room, and said in a deep voice, "We still have a chance!"
